Disclaimer: I'm not on Errol's, Kiba's, Quitewraith's (Ark), FrostMonarch, or AzureFlameGod's levels so I'm lightheartedly giving an impression rather than debate/discussion or complaint. I like the challenge with her but I'm kind've mediocre relatively. I saw Ark do some filthy stuff in matches. If I consistently land Tsubaki command grabs in a match, I know that I'm in my opponents head and I'm in control. For me personally, i have to settle into my pressure and it means I've pinned them down. There are plenty of times where I know I'm not using it at all and I'm overwhelmed. I think she gets almost 2 stocks but not quite. Command grab to me is a measure of "yeah, I'm in a good place; I'm in there." But as Zouf said, Tusbaki command grabs (for me at least) are after some charge cancel dash or 2B which has about the same risk as her normal pressure resets. Tusbaki is just tricky to stay in. You can 5BB and be out of range already sometimes. I'd actually say she feels like Robo Ky without air/ground missiles or a safe horsie (236X on block= death). Every string after 5B that's normal in pressure has less than 2B ranges for most characters. 5B at max range means reset. Imagine if Jin's 5C, 2C and 6C had the range of 2B. Maybe something like a 5BB suction like Jin's or something else could help. Overall, I think she's making me a better player slowly. i know what I need to work on. Nothing scares me using other characters now. I do enjoy playing her so.... I'm just curious to see what happens to her. I'm probably sticking with her. I have a minimalist style, so I'm going to implore that rather than trying to be someone else. i guess I agree. Normals really, or better charge advantage. And maybe a legit crossup.

Pretty much that. I get the most mileage out of a perfectly spaced blade super when anticipating someone hitting buttons. I anticipated bangs grab super once and beat it clean. At full screen, it's not too great on the opponent's block unless you wanna bait a DP. People will attack you out of it. The startup has screwed up my dash timing at times because I anticipate being able to move earlier. Shoutouts to D Orb D Charge blowing up Tempest Dahlia. I do enjoy playing Tsubaki more than Litchi in this version. I'm not a serious competitive person though I'm stubbornly competitive. It feels good to get a counter-hit or something going. Sooooooooo......How long until the next Loketest? Isn't there suppose to be several. I guess I thought I was going to see a bunch a week apart.

I really don't understand such division in the fighting game communities. Everyone has their preference though. Capcom loyalty: old-school nostalgic players have been playing a certain footsie heavy play-style for many years and it has become their preference. Some really like hurtboxes over hitboxes. Silrin was a big one talking about BB tech time iirc, though the reward is much better in BB. Then you have the anti-anime or presumed anime community stereotypes that attach things to certain games. It's fairly ignorant but that's how people are. I would say that the anime/airdasher community may be a bit more diverse. I think there is a fair group of people that don't fit either modes. I'm sure many airdasher/new-school players feel quite similarly about the diverse options and play-styles in their games along with the pressure based fighter. It's a quite different feel overall. Everyone isn't gonna pick up street fighter and feel at home especial with the trades on everything. I play a bit of street fighter but probably don't more because I really haven't dug my nails deep in perfecting links. I do enjoy watching tournaments and playing multiple games, even though I don't play them. The division reminds me of a COD player I know that dismissed fighting games as boring and less complex than fps from a 2-d plan perspective and a lack of movement plan options and vs multiple people play. I found that perplexing but what can you say: he has no understanding of fighting game mechanics and their intricacies. I have recently seen a few Capcom players play some airdasher stuff. I think Sanford was playing some Azrael a lot online before Ultra came out. I find TS Sabin interesting because he actually gave a real opinion on why he prefers certain games. He prefers footsies over set play. He seemed to have a decent BB Jin and Arakune for a few days of play. He's a huge fan of Arcana Heart and is sad that more people aren't interested in that game. He likes the clashes too which is a SF familiarity. He's playing Uniel and seems to be supporting that game while admitting he's not that good. Alex Valle has also competed in 6 Persona tournaments and still plans to play Akihiko. I think the old schoolers players still in the game have a changed perspective from their competitive days. Maybe there are some really slow changes in perceptive, but I just think it needs to be from notable people in those other communities going out in new avenues. Reading the NLBC chat when Uniel premiered from USFIV only watchers was quite frustrating.

Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold Story Thread (spoilers)

^^ Just to bump that from the sidebar of latest posts. smh loophole haha. -
There are easily some adequate non-fighting types at fighting. The 2d poke indie-fighter proves this. They better have a Snorlax.

Ah, I wonder if it's like the free to play Tekken system.

Shoryuken: I guess here is where I read it'll be on Acho's Ustream. http://shoryuken.com/2014/04/21/arc-system-works-announces-arc-revolution-cup-2014/ I'm not sure if that's a legit thing or not though. -

I read somewhere Ustream. -
^^Hahaha, Tao SS+ Tier CP 2.0 due to omission. Kidding aside, really no Tao? On Tsubaki, I wish I knew the things about her in Ex that i do now when I only subbed her. I did enjoy her though. I still have hard-read 214B/C habits from those days. I got milage out of it when used sparingly.

A full online match of DeathBall in UT 2003 or 2004 is too much fun. I wouldn't judge a game by mod capability though. Total conversion mods are awesome, but are pretty much mostly new games. There are some awesome stand alone games that were born out of mods. Isn't that Counter-strike, TF2, KF etc. On guilty gear subjects, I am rooting for FAB and Konsome for Arc Revo. I don't think they'll pull it off with all of the Rams and so many other skilled players and characters, but I hope they make some noise. I wouldn't mind seeing Woshige, Tsubu, Fino or a Bedman/Ino player wreck either. If a slayer, ino, venom or bedman player won, I'd be pretty hyped. lol FAB vs Fino first. I was wondering if scarce characters like Bedman vs. Slayer would be fighting each other first. -

Didn't Arc Revo start after that if I'm not mistaken? Hopefully there are some new things to see either at Arc Revo or TGS. -
^^I guess I meant both (either player or lobby). Well, going up or down 80 has still never happened to me in a player match. That's some intense proactive effort to not play outside of yourself or lethargic. i've been up or down about 20 a few times. I guess those "top-class" players go extra hard in the player rooms.
-
Yeah, especially in a lobby. i've had people that I go up 20 on, but I'll use subs and other things too which leads to me letting one slip.
-
^Overdrive combo drop Astral FTW I think anything over 25 requires mad respect from the opponent or them having an insatiable ego. Perhaps, just a fun loving, patient person too.
-
Pfft, I'll raise you to 20. I'm like, I'm gonna take a round back; I'm gonna blow up his pressure. I'll try to catch them with Tsubaki's command grab. The battle for me is not losing but feeling pressured to meet the other player's expectations. I hate when other people quit on me because they think the gap is too large. Likewise, I have the habit of thanking much better players for lengthy sets. I can get frustrated, but I don't mind losing quite a lot of matches-- though I don't enjoy losing. I'll try to learn one thing from it I suppose.

Anymore recent Arc Rev qualifiers, after Taka Slayer? -
yeah, if anything, I miss not having a wider hitbox jump in that won't whiff at odd spaces-- j.b crossup range is a bit specific. I wonder if a controllable ground orb would make Tsubaki too good in neutral.
-
I play on a TE Stick and sometimes on my PS3 controller when I don't need the noise. I think Tsubaki is pretty easy on pad and may be easier regarding dash resets and pressure. My presence of mind is probably just much more fluent on stick right now. I rather Tk j.236A and command grab on a stick by far.

send to the main gameplay thread.

i liked CT Litchi though also I like her additions of 4D and 6D too in CS. But using a lot more itsuu a, b, c and playing more defensively was my thing. i wonder if they are trying to add playstyle diversity or restrict it with changes. I remember CT Ragna and his funny 6D? RC 3c 22C combos or a ID wallbouce 22C combo or something like that. 5C Carnage Scissors wallbounce ender confirms. :P
-
If only I knew all of that then when I was playing her on the side. i'm curious still why they decided to make her 6a 26 frames-- 29 frames of recovery if you whiff. If 22B would no longer ground slide, what would the mid screen combo game be? I guess just a normal knockdown but no pickups.
-
I'm gonna experiment with that just to see how it feels in general. It might make my street fighter pad alternate to my stick better.

haha, Gamespot previewing BB saying, I think Arakune is a bunch of insects that wanted to join the tourney. I was done. Seriously, I've been neglecting story modes after CT and CS1 so I'll play GGs. -
Does anyone else want to main the blue guy?
TeeJay replied to Liminal18's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
I could go for some 2-d Kuma/Panda. He'd have a roll attack I think. Actually, I've found myself looking at the creatures and background characters in BB and wondering, why aren't they in this game? So many people and cat-people, a squirrel chick but not many of the freaky characters. I want my BB Merkava. Well, we need Jubei....
