  1. In any other game, you'd be right, but in a game like this where all the other characters do have moves like that... There's very few ways for her to control/maintain/shift momentum. Could have been an abare character then, but no, unless you have a few charges, which would have required you to be in a better position or ahead in the first place and the damage isn't so great anyways. I mostly agree with you though. I've played worse characters and she's pretty fun, so shrug. As long as people understand that they'll need to work a little harder, we can just move past the bitch sessions and work with what we've got.
  2. I don't see it. To have that move become active (C version), you have to do it really high to the point that it's not a TK anymore, so they're going to see your jump and then see that long-ass startup, so if they've seen this little setup before at all, or even if they haven't, they'll probably hit buttons or a dragon since this is Blazblue and CH you. So I'd say that's a gimmick too unfortunately. Emerald, yeah...except it's not "seems" really, I have no doubt Ragna's rushdown is better, he can almost just mash special moves and shit, he can even actually force mixups. But Ragna doesn't have...a Nibelung Valesti astral. Or boobs.
  3. Wow sad forum lol. I thought the point of 6B was to use in a string mixed with 6A since their startup is almost exactly the same frame-wise. What I don't see a use for so much is j.236B/C. Guess you could do the B version at neutral randomly and hope they try to swing during the invincibility. Sure...
  4. lol, yeah. I don't see how she's supposed to actually hit people. There's all sorts of nonsense you can run on a bad player, but to play her at high level seems you have to...just block, hopefully charge, hold out for getting your damage, which isn't as much as it should be given the nature of the character and her opportunities. A character that connects less often but deals significantly more damage is fine, but this is more...um, Slash HOS with unsafe rushdown. Which is kinda bad. I like the character though and I imagine I can force nonsense by unfamiliarity for a while, so eh whatever.
  5. Wow, Ramda and Sandra look nothing like they used to. More...Western-style art now, not sure I like that =/
  6. I don't think they've changed anything internally about the game. Shiki's dive always did that if their sprite was behind you, and there are a lot of situations in this game where you'll be backturned but be able to block the normal direction...I'm assuming that's the case there. I haven't noticed their sprite being backwards when I do the reset midscreen, but that's probably the case... Some characters' throws in the corner do force them to get up backwards, part of why Kim is so good. He's better than Big or Marco, really. Big's damage was never really a problem...more how he has the best defensive game among the cast. cr.A and lariat shut down the offense of a lof of characters...as with all things, there's a way around it though. I'll have to look into the Shiki thing though. I wouldn't mess with cr.A > cr.D > dash stab btw, two hit cr.D alone is enough to confirm usually, about as fast (maybe faster? the A is kinda slow), probably more damage too. That, cr.A > close B > far D > dash stab, or close D > one hit close C > dash move. You have a pretty decent amount of time to see if dash stab hits before you press C for the flip launcher too. I can usually just confirm off that itself. If they're a good player and start trying to GCFS the stab on block, you can use the super cancel to punish their punish attempt ;p ...if they're not GCFSing or AB stepping through them, you can basically spam the crack shoot overhead special and dash stab all day. Which also reminds me...the guy asking above about escaping pressure without "meter", well, are you talking about stepping or supers? I could read that as "you can't escape without having a super stocked", which isn't really true, so I wanted to make sure you knew about AB steps/GCFS. They do use meter, but not very much and as said earlier, meter is given to you in this game for doing pretty much nothing.
  7. Genjuro doesn't have a lot going for him, Haoh is good though. Best Samurai/Last Blade characters in order are like Kaede/Haohmaru, Shiki/Moriya, Washizuka, Genjuro/Asura, Nakoruru At least, off the top of my head and from most tier lists in the past/imo. Kaede does great damage, Shiki has great rushdown, Moriya is just a solid character that's basically Sword Iori, Washi is a zoning character with some interesting tricks/gimmicks, Genjuro is a crappier Haoh with better projectiles, Asura is almost ALL projectiles and Nakoruru is kind of a gimmicky character with mediocre damage and few uses for super - fast and annoying though.
  8. Love these ideas. Witch, headless knight, inquisitor/priest character. Death might be a bit OP, lol. Possibly as a final boss, but a bit overdone...it could almost be a Castlevania game after all of this. We've recently started getting back into VS in NC a little bit. I used to think it was too fast and offense oriented for me, but I can somewhat fireball/dp with Demitri so it's all good ;p
  9. People are saying the netcode with Sen was better, so here's to hoping improvements carry over to the Live games.
  10. The Yeah!s are obviously taking this one. I thought this was about Chaos Code when I saw the announcement...or Current Code. I'm actually glad they're changing the name for the US version, there's nothing else I know of named DARK AWAKE I'm really looking forward to it, looks like a vs. version of the Capcom D&D games.
  11. yo Pac is free everyday

  12. happy birthday WHY DO YOU FIGHT

  13. The slot should go to a different game. The ideal way for BB to get exposure, imo, would be if Aksys could possibly have setups (arcade or pre-release copies of the console version) of CS for people to play like how SF4, TvC and CT originally were showcased at Evo, with possibly a side invitational for the game also like how TvC was done. Tekken 6 got screen time in a similar fashion too, I recall.
  14. You should just be absorbed into NC because we're great
  15. Girls don't play gg unless they were previously guys
  16. I LOST. I'm MAD. I need to blame something. Online or off, people do it. Instead of trying to figure out how to beat what they lost to and focus the blame on themselves not beating x thing, they decide to just shove it all off on something else. It's the core of being a scrub.
  17. It's fuckin' Hideo Kojima. It's similar to Snatcher. If you don't know about that either, play it too. And be sure to call the sex line.
  18. Every time I lose to a Tager online, even if they seem like they kinda know what they're doing, it's because of that spinny super. One way or another, that shit hits me somehow. And I guess the overhead part at the end has to be barrier guarded in the air? I can't see my sprite when I'm blocking all of that big electricity shit so I guess it's either that or somehow it knocks me over to the other side of him and crosses me up somehow or something. I hate losing because of silly knowledge things. Literally, every time, I swear. As much as I've played SF4 online, you'd think I'd expect wakeup supers. Just don't see them coming in this game.
  19. sig thanks
  20. you could just do throw > DEATH RAY instead though =/
  21. Sweep > astral is pretty amusing. If you cancel into it as early as possible, it will hit them if they stay on the ground, roll forward or roll back (it hits behind him). Only way out is the "quick" recovery option, which you can also catch by just delaying the astral and cancelling into it later. However, neutral tech beats that. There doesn't seem to be a sweet spot where sweep > astral will catch both neutral and quick, but one of the two will catch most. Likely safer to delay it. I was also trying to see if there was any possible way to do blockstun > inescapable astral, but you can only do it in a really specific situation at full screen where they have to block a fireball soon after a normal jump.
  22. Yeah...Rachel is a rushdown character. The top 3 are top because they're the only characters that can actually continue offense. I would say rushdown there, but we have Nu in this game. Rushback?
  23. Asian Kyle/stunedge is probably the best Ky right now. He trained in Japan and is Asian himself so he's better by everyone because of that and not being Caucasian, being white by default means you're terrible. He of course has a more Japanese style, I would assume, but the only vids I know of featuring him lately were those bad quality ones from SBO quals. I'll cover a few more. These aren't all the good players, and there are some I don't know much about (hey west coast) Steve H is good, but he plays Street Fighter with Ky. As do I. Heavy focus on punishing mistakes, being very patient, spacing, simple combos and pretty much capitalizing on how anime game players have bad defense/shitty ways they try to set up offense/"I learned this awesome combo in training mode and I want to do it no matter what, fundamentals booo" PozerWolf is good. I think he switched to Testament from what Frank told me, but he has some pretty nice, unique stuff from what I remember. I've only played him once, but he really caught me off guard. Anybody with an arcade scene nearby is going to be better than someone from a state with a console-only scene, unless the person from the arcade-less scene is black and really hype or Asian. Those are the rules, I'm sorry.
  24. Nope, didn't know. I never research things online, always learn the hard way. Good to know the way I'm approaching the match isn't completely off.
