  1. Yes, this is dustloop; we should not have a street fighter reference in our thread title. So I'm back in Belchertown for the Spring, and I'm wondering if anythings going on this week? I've been out of the loop for a while due to being busy/broke/far away. (actually I'm still broke)
  2. Tales you need to clear some space in your inbox
  3. I say yes. This is the first game I've played that feels right since GGAC. I will play it. I think KOFXIII is a game that appeals to a different group players, namely people that prefer fast paced fighters. The demo felt amazing, tight, and fast, with legit oki. Very GG-like. In my mind the only questions that remain are how well balanced will it be, and how difficult will the execution be. If the game is broken/ impossible for me to perform combos in I will at least play it casually. If the balance/ execution are good I'll finally have a second tournament game.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FpigqfcvlM This man articulates the awesome game design of Megaman and Megaman X that I intrinsically knew, but could not express in words. Thank you Max, my life would be 20% less awesome without having seen this. Also, you all should play the Jamestown shmup
  5. Got mine back yesterday, It's to not sleep in temperatures above freezing again.
  6. Anyone else lose power via the storm?
  7. I'm debating whether to go or not, it mostly depends on if I can get a part time job by then. Nazgul is gainfully improved and would most likely attend.

I'm glad the Kahlua shakes were a hit. Sorry I didn't make any virgins/ forgot to clean out the blender.
  9. Springfield is enroute that would be no problem, but . . . 4 is later than I'd like to leave, sorry man.
  10. Kona found another ride going up Saturday at some point maybe he could hook you up? If not I wouldn't terribly mind bringing you down Saturday morning. I could get my weekend homework done tonight that way. Are you on the way there from Amherst? I might be able to bring you.
  11. :sad:Well at least now I won't have to guard my food. . . I heard you and Max might be able to hitch a ride with David Chen if he's free. I hope you can make it down, it will be cool to finally meet you in person. On a side note: Hardest part of Japanese class: speaking test:vbang:

  19. Digital Devil Saga plays more like a typical Jrpg. You have a party of three (out of 5) characters. Instead of convincing demons to join you, or using various persona, your (ex)human party members change into demons at the start of combat (unless you get surprised, in which case you start battle in human form and fight with guns, until you spend a turn to transform). It uses the same turn based combat style as Nocturne (getting a crit/ hitting an enemy's weakness nets you half a turn icon). The level up system works like a cross between SMT and ff10s sphere grid (simplified). Exp gets you levels, every level gives each character 3 stat points (you get to allocate use, the other characters go up automatically). You also gain Karma from enemies which you use to learn new combat abilities (physical attacks, magical attacks, healing, buffs/debuffs, passive bonuses, and hunting skills) If a character kills an enemy with a hunting skill, they get all the demons karma, and the amount of karma is multiplied. Serph is the silent protagonist, Seras is the mysterious amnesiac with mystical powers, Argilla is the bi kind hearted healing based pacifist (hates to eat, has the best gun in DDS1 and most of DDS2), Heat is the angry rage filed Attack based badass (loves to eat, conflict of interest with Serph, voiced by Crispin Freeman aka Alucard from Hellsing), Gale is the well-balanced philosophical tactician, Cielo is the speed/agility based token Jamaican (has the worst weakness in the game, don't use him if you can avoid it). Roland (DDS2 only), is the balanced cynical glasses man (has the coolest looking demon form out of the playable characters) Game has a very original, cool story. Pretty grindy though. DDS1 has my second favorite main battle theme of all time Strange Journey plays very similar to Nocturne, but uses a first person view like SMT 1&2 and Phantasy Star 1. You can equip a gun and sword at the same time, and use both in combat (No magic, but weapons can have elemental/ stat effects). You can have 3 demons summoned at a time. Demon recruitment/ fusion works exactly like Nocturne. You can't allocate your own stat points when you level, at the start of the game you have to answer a questionnaire, and it determines what build your stat increases follow (I ended up being agility based). You have to identify new demons before you can see what they are, until then they just look like staticy willow-whips, and if you try to talk to them you get garbled nonsense. The touch screen is an auto-filling minimap, which helps navigation a lot. Great setting, cool music (lots of 'Noifair depths' style chants), distinct graphics. The story is pretty good so far, and the few characters fit the game quite well. How are Raidou vs King Abaddon, and Devil Survivor? Vergil's cool I should check him out the new mvc characters I thought I saw 2 "Fools" in the character select screen
  20. Ahh! I so you are a SMT fan as well, excellent! What other Megaten games have you played? I promise I'll come down to Boston sometime this month so we can meet IRL. Melty Blood Act Cadenza is pretty old. America plays Actress Again at the moment (PS2 import), and Japan is several versions beyond that (arcade only stuff). The newest edition on the horizon is supposed to have a PC port though. I wanna check out the Mind Haus3. Is their a tier list for Denny's? S: ??? A: ??? B: ??? C: ??? D: Ludlow F: Any Bickfords
  21. I''ll be good for any weekend now that I have Sat/Sunday free.
  22. I gotta say it was pretty awesome to Only drive 20 minutes to a meetup as opposed to 1-3 hours. Thanks Furok for hosting, and for the power cord. Have you seen my weekly planner in your basement? Paul thanks for teaching me more H-Hisui. I'm glad that Melty Blood's got a pc update in the works. Shout outs to Paul, Mindgam3, and Cheese for pummeling me in Melty for 85 games. Shout outs to Zoob's mom for being mom like, and calling me a graceful dancer/ bodyguard Shout outs to everyone I played in GG. What goes around comes around If you're interested in playing more SMT games I can give you some recommendations: I've finished Digital Devil Saga 1+2 (Heat is the manliest character in any SMT game, 1 has way better music than 2), demi kids Dark version (a game that was called a rip off of pokemon, from the series which pokemon ripped off), Devil Summoner: Raidou Kazunoha vs the Souless Army (pretty meh), Persona 3 (The game that exploded onto the video game scene with little warning to make SMT an rpg series sort of recognized by the casual masses) I've partially played through: Persona 2 Eternal Punishment (near the end. Great ascetics and characters [baofu], slow load times + grindy), Nocturne (You get Man points for finishing this on hard), Strange Journey (old school style first person rpg with touch screen minimap,), I just started Shin Megami Tensei 1(Great for improving Kana reading speed, and learning new Japanese vocab!)
  23. We should all watch REDLINE From the "middle" character amongst 5 other kanji at 0:37 I wonder if this will be a 5 button fighter? Need to learn more Kanji.
