The NEWEST NEW ENGLAND THREAD (A FUSION OF STATES)
Vyers replied to Zoob's topic in Offline Community
spellfail:vbang:. Say hello to the West Coast players for me; It's looking like the GGAC side tourney will have a decent turnout. Let me know what you think of Skull Girls. Possibly, we'll talk at PWA tonight. -

Yes, we will definitely get some games in when Kof13 comes out. I'll be at fight night tomorrow (Cheese bring that memory stick if you got the project F stuff). Still havn't found my copy of MVC3:( Cool that should be very doable. I'll put in the request for August 6th this week. Max's Place shoutouts! Max: thanks for having me as usual, you've gotten very good at air-throws, both execution and mindgame wise. Mindgam3: 2p works on slayer mix ups sometimes? Glad you enjoyed Ninja Gaiden 1 a game from the time when Ninjas were unstoppably unquestionably bad ass; good luck when you get to stage 6-2; you should try 2 and 3 sometime. Hierarchy of platforming challenge: Super Mario Bros < Megaman 2 < Ninjagaiden/ActRaiser 2< Chakon: The Forever Man. Awesome Gaiden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jluv2HxFEqs Meghan: Sebastian's upgrade is a starry night. Otakon in 45 days! Also you should try out Ninja Gaiden 1, I hear that's an awesome game. Dave Chen: Beastly as always. Do up that Megaman. Glad you understood the Awesomeness that is Ninja Gaiden. Ryu Hayabusa should be in a 2d fighter. Vism Super! Whirlwind Shuriken Midscreen Infinite! Firewheel AntiAir Projectile! Whirlwind Slash Cross Up! Wall Cling Run Away to top of screen Pro Strat! (Ex Ryu H. loses all this but gains Izuna Drop command grab) Kraig would you be interested in going to Max's place Boston sometime? (I usually go on Mondays.) -

I plan on playing this and KOF13. I like the flow of Skull Girls so far. I'm a little envious that you got the chance to play it. I kind of wish I went to PAX instead of Anime Boston for Skull Girls + the Protomen concert. the anti-loop mechanic sounds very cool. I wonder if it's possible to bait a la burst? -

Yeah I know I suck. I haven't seen you guys in forever. I also said last year I would totally make it this year, and possibly run GG, so I guess I made myself a liar. excuse: I'm already taking 8 days off this month/ next month for school orientation/ doctor stuff/ Otacon Of course like all excuses this one auto fails. I hope you guys all enjoy your ECT without your side of bacon, let me know how Skull Girls is. I hope you've got Ballz Of Steel. I see. . . I'll be there Tuesday. honestly if it's a choice between ECT weekend and sometime in July, July would be better. in addition to the NE guilty scene, most of the MASS/ RI SF4/MVC3 players will be going to ECT. -

First off sorry for being late getting back to you on this. I'd like to do a $5 entry fee for GG. 70/20/10 pot split for 1st/2nd/3rd place. Run on PS2 Guilty Gear XX Accent Core. Singles tournament. matches are 2 out of 3 games except for winners/losers/grandfinals which are 3 out of 5. Brackets are double elimination. Standard GG rules apply: no shadow/gold characters, no Kliff/Justice (not that this matters since I'm not running it on GGAC +, etc. Posting this up in the thread in case anyone has input/ preferences on entry fee etc. Second I agree with Mindgam3 and Kona that the 25th is a bad date change due to most people attending ECT (I think I'm one of the few who wasn't planning on going). Was there something Adam had going on on the 18th? I feel that another date would be better if at all possible. I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to come and run GG since I'll have to request a different day off, but I will be there if I can. I will keep you posted on that. edit: on a different note I'll be going to Boston again this coming Monday, you are welcome to join me if you'd like, same goes to Kraig/ Rich/ Lawrence if you guys are interested in a day of guilty gear/ anime/ random roms. -

I'll be at PWA on the 18th for the new tourney. Since this is on Saturday (that day of the week that's good for everybody but me) I'm expecting everyone with a normal work week or no work week to come to this. I'll be VERY DISAPPOINTED in all of you if it's just me and Nuclear Cheese again. I'll run the GG side tourney if no one else is up to the task Cheese: You'll be there I know, don't forget that usb drive with the Project F stuff. Mindgam3: I already talked to you; but I want to say once again you should come to this. Meghan: You were there when I talked to Mindgam3; you should come. also carpooling for Otakon would be excellent. Zoob: You have Saturdays off; you should come. Nazgul: We need you for a complete team; you should come. Genstov: This tourney needs Faust shenanigans; you should come. Kona: We need to play some matches using our mains you should come. blueNINE: You're always free; you should come. Aria: If you're visiting with blueNINE, you should come. Stryfe: I haven't seen you since Uprising! you should come. Mugen: Even if you don't play GG anymore there will be BBCS2/MK9/etc; you should come. Furok: You don't want this to become another SF4 takes over the building event; you should come. Asian Dave/ David Chen: You rarely make a tournament appearance, but this place is an hour away from you; you should come. Tales: I need to practice slashbacking butterflies; you should come. Other GG players I didn't mention by name: We want to show that people still play this awesome game, you should all come (and bring setups). Don't forget to post up Also Capsuletoyco I can make an event post for this if you'd like. It will draw more attention. -

I'll be at PWA next Tuesday. If anyone coming by has any questions about guilty gear, whether it's how to play a certain character or anything else about the game, post up; I'll do some research so I can show you some basics (as well as my execution will allow). -

Yeah I was curious why you aren't into it. It's rare for someone to be into air dashers, but not anime. . . We can exhibit you to the street fighter community as proof that guilty/ melty/ arcana players aren't necessarily weabos. Also show them a montage of street fighter anime. -

I liked how it began with Valkyria Chronicles You should have Furok and Nazgul join the cast of GameBreakers. You NEED Furok for WH2 snes. Nazgul can elaborate the brokenness of Bards in D&D, how to starve the citizens of Morrowind, and the ridiculousity of many other games. You missed out on my amazing Soba Stir-Fry to, but that's okay; I'll make you something delicious next time. What Anime do you hate? I want elaboration. Edit: Also I just got accepted into UMASS Amhersts Japanese Language and Literature program:) -

The Mindhiv3 farewell party was pretty awesome. I first want to say sorry if I came off as a grouch to anyone. My introverted nature makes me somewhat obtuse and stoic when it comes to socialization, particularly when amongst large groups of people and/ or people I don't know well. I apologize if this put anyone off, but this is just how I am. Secondly, probably my only decent method of getting to know people, and showing my appreciation to the people I know is cooking. I hope that everyone who was around Saturday enjoyed my cooking, and/or milkshakes. I'll do curry sometime. Thirdly I've a terrible memory particularly when it comes to names, so if I forget or get anyone's wrong please don't take it personally. Anyway. . . SHout OUts! Mindgam3: Thanks for hosting this event, and letting me crash at the Hive for two nights. I don't think we played Guilty at all, but we I still feel fulfilled by our match at AB. Good Shit in our Megaman X MM. You Are THe ROBOT MASTER. Maybe we could do a nes Ninja Gaiden MM next time: who can make it the furthest on one continue? I prefer Armored Armadillo/ Sigma Stage 1 over Sigma Stage 2. Meghan: Thanks for the drinks, you're the best bartender. I recall saying you needed to be more assertive at some tourney months ago. You have become assertive, that is good for taking care of yourself, but please be wary for there is a fine line between assertiveness and aggressiveness. Honestly I should be taking that first piece of advice for myself. . . Also sorry if I woke you up (multiple) times on Saturday, lotsa stuff to pack for the NH return trip Max: Sorry I wasn't really feeling the gear this time. I hope you had plenty of good matches with the other players who came. I have to find you a birthday present. Paul: I think you're the only person I know who becomes an enhanced version of themself when drunk, as opposed to shifting personalities; you were the meister of flattery. Thanks for the second dose of Melty advice. I'm amazed that Dan doesn't like Anime. Shiki Nananya Melty Coach: Thanks for beating my Hisui's face into the pavement. I am slow in learning this game, but I continue learning. Why: We didn't really talk. I just fed you soba and shake. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Zoob: You are a master of intoxicated freedom; I was envious of you as I witnessed your drunken antics whilst straining against my chains of responsibility. chains that I bore willingly and chains which I held me against my intents Hazama/Kyle/Mystic Eyes?: Thanks for the heads up on Ale Storm; I will check them out. Also you make a great Hazama. Also you are one friendly guy. David Chen: I was surprised and glad to see you make it out to the Hiv3. Jin: awkward first meeting + drunken Tekken = I remember your name? Nazgul: Hardcore Uprising is cool. Leviathan is the man for me I don't even want to touch those not manly characters with more than one hp. cookie dough/mint chocolate chip icecream oreo shake is the first thing I tried containing mint which I found to be enjoyeded, good combo(YeSSS!!!). You are a fantastic dream weaver; you ride with Tom Bombadil into the night. Furok: You and Nazgul should form the GAME BREAKERS!! an elite uber RulesLawyer/ PowerGamer organization whose purpose is to destroy the playability of all, but the most finely tuned games:v: Chrono Trigger is awesome. Cook for me sometime. SNES games you should play: Axelay, Secret of Mana, Phalanx, Act Raiser II, Valis (play all of these), Super Castlevania IV (play I II III and Rondo of Blood), Illusion of Gaia. Also try Chakon: The Forever Man for Genesis. (this game is sadistic) Kona: work sucks, Vampire Savior is cool. Let's do Garou sometime. -
Thanks for hosting us Jeremy, It looks like the shout-outs got moved to New England Thread so I'll finish this there.

xntrikcat plays BB and lives in Boston. Max, and David Chen also live in Boston, they mostly play GG. -
Yeah I intended to include the Hadouken (it is the 5th caspule). We can either do it first to get everything and finish the game, or first to finish period. I usually go for everything, but Nazgul said it would be more interesting to leave all that stuff optional. . . Your call Jeremy; in either case I accept. On another note my work schedule got flopped so now I have Friday off, but I have to work a 4 to close shift Saturday. Meaning I'll be arriving as early as possible Friday and leaving around noon on Saturday:( I might swap the Soba to a Friday dinner thing since I'll be leaving around lunch time on Saturday, I'll also have to bring my DS so I have an alarm clock. If you're cool with leaving at noon on Saturday I can bring you home.

I won't be making it to PWA today, cause I'm stuck working on my Communications final due tomorrow. I hope that everyone going there has a good time. I might be able to depending on how my schedule works out, and how far away your place is from the hiv3. -
Is this Megaman X Money Match first to beat the game period, or first to beat it with all capsules/ hearts/ subtanks?
-
I got next Saturday off so I'll be coming down Friday night. Plan: .Drive to the Hive late Friday/ mad early Saturday, bring snes/games/foodstuffs/alcohol. . Get smashed . Drunken gaming . Sleep . Wake up, cook Soba Stir-Fry with veggies/chicken/? for lunch. . sober gaming . Milk shakes . Talk Otakon . more sober gaming. . Drive home whilst rocking out to The Megas

I'll see if I can get one or both days off, just requested a weekend off for graduation so its not guaranteed. If I do make it, I will cook Soba Noodle Stir Fry with chicken/whatever meat people want to add to the Wok. I might also do Vyers' oreo shakes/ requests (IS ANYONE BRAVE ENOUGH TO FACE THE CHOCOLATE DEATH?). I think it would also be very cool to have some non fighter stuff going down for a change. I'm thinking Anime of some sort and SNES games ( I have a legit working original model snes, only one working controller though). Also there should be booze so you can all bear witness to drunken Vyers. . . Again this is all assuming that I can make it down.

I only bumped into you for a short while in the hall. Good Hazama costume, Con's are always more fun in costume. Maybe one of these years I'll cosplay the original Vyers, or grow my hair out again to cosplay Baiken, or I could be semi lazy and do Johnny again. Why: Good hanging out with you all weekend. MK9 and Tekken6 were fun (I used to hate both of these games, but I feel like I understand what to do in them better now; this especially goes for Tekken); I'd be up to play them a bit more, at least for casuals. I agree, it is easier to go by your handle than your real life name. I started introducing myself as 'Vyers' after the multiple Daves confusion at my second tourney. I hope you had a safe trip home, and I hope our conversations Saturday evening were enlightening without being disquieting. Zoob: Good bro talks, interesting stories amidst much useful advice. I am now the cheap Chinese plastic recast of Nuclear Cheese and simultaneously Kona whilst remaining myself. The theology of Xeno games was an interesting panel. You missed the cross cultural contamination of Japan and the United States, in which I bore witness to Supida Mahn! and the epic battle in which 34 generations of Super Sentai fight off an army of vile aliens. Mindgam3: Our match in GGAC finals was truly epic and enjoyable, you knocked me out of autopilot. Good shit bringing the setup again this year. FUCK HD TVs!!! I heard something about a possible group Xenogears cosplay? Vierge/Dr.OnBlast/Meghan/too many names: Good cosplay, I'll have to check out that artbook Bridget. You have the right attitude when it comes to drinks. We should have a cook off at some point in the future. Dizzy is cool. Paul: Thanks for explaining Half Moon Hisui basics to me. I am now interested in playing Melty Blood again. I would buy the game if my modded PS2 liked me. Other Melty players whose names I didn't get/ don't recall: Good Games. Furok: Cheese Cake is good. Cheese cake is also good in chicken parm sandwiches. Still gotta try that peanut sauce/rice/bananananana stir-fry. Max: Thanks for hosting me as always. Thanks for the pipe. Enjoy Goemon, check out La Corda D'Oro. Cosplay Burlesque = meh. Feel free to play Dragon Quarter without me, it's going to take multiple play-throughs anyway. Your taste in drinks = :thumbdn: Axl Player from CT/ Zappa player from Boston: you two are fortunate for GG players. There is a living scene in Connecticut and several players in Boston (a few of whom actually play). Anime Boston is more fun when you don't treat it like a fighter tourney.
