Of course there's internet at the venue. How else are we supposed to have exvs 2v2? But yeah thinking more around either march or april so it isn't too close to MAT or... Toryuken, but if it only works out later than that then whatever it'll be later lol. -

There's no umvc3 scene in montreal, so no point, and too many SF players, so we wouldn't have enough space for everyone, because we'd use Foonzo as the venue. I don't even hate Capcom. -
Tiers depend on the other characters, since Mu didn't change. I think Mu is way better in this version of the game because a lot of other characters got nerfed (like makoto and noel), but not necessarily higher in the tiers. Overall it's just that everything feels more even so far. (I say this because we have no valk/ragna/hakumen in our local CSEX scene so far ) Another way of saying this: I think I'd have more chances of winning a tournament with Mu in CSEX than in CS2.

Ok well after about 10 seconds bibi came up with a name so here we go, we might change it, but for now, announcing MAD (Montreal Air Dashers) tournament some time in spring 2012. Blazblue will be the main event, and maybe KOF depending on the scene size here in montreal that is currently unknown. Side tournaments will include Gundam Extreme VS 2v2, F-Zero GX and obv GGXXAC, as well as anything else enough people want to play. (for example arcana heart and melty, the scene is too small in montreal, but maybe with outsiders we could have enough) now stop with the negative attitude and let me know what dates you guys can or can't make it out to this. Yeah sure, I'm thinking we could do something like every first Thursday of the month is a monthly singles tournament, every third one could could be random 2v2 teams, and every other thursday and sunday we could run a danisen station. I get a good excuse for procrastinating because I would really like it if we could have recording equipment again that we could use for the tournaments. Foonzo owners said that probably half way through January they should have something set up, because they hope they'll be able to have it up for Nemesis (but it might be later), anyways they'd be able to record or stream from any of their evo monitor setups, I think. I'll need to talk to them about it again eventually, because I forgot to ask if live commentary would be possible with their setup, but anyways, we had also found a cheap way of recording/streaming with that uses some of our current equipment, so we'll have to discuss this. So it might be a good idea to make a thread on sankishin specifically dedicated to this recording thing, so we don't flood the thread, I'll make it now so check it if you want info concerning that. So yeah tournaments we'll wait for recording equipment, but we'll still run a Danisen for now. edit: recording equipment topic made, please go post if you have something to say http://www.sankishin.com/board/viewtopic.php?p=323#p323 -

See that's the thing. Everyone is on that extend. No one is going back. A month is just way too conservative, iirc MAT was about 3 weeks after CS2's release and there were no big issues, and personally I'd enter a CSEX tournament tomorrow if there was one. But yeah, THE extend tournament tournament we'll run will be at least 2-3 weeks after the planned NA release. We should think of a name for that tournament by the way. Since last year's was "Montreal Monthly Mashfests, Easter Edition : LK vs Montreal" or something like that we could find something similar..? Not only to make it easier to refer to it, but also as an effort to help make sure it actually ends up happening. -

Well blade I think you're just looking at the situations wrong. About Nemesis, I'm going to let Brice say what he has to say because he talked to cranky and know what's up, but I think it's more of a "hey guys didn't think we would but we actually have room for you, do you guys want in? sure why not." Anyways, personally I don't really like it because it's too late for any out of towners to come, so it's just gonna be "us" and I don't know how many of "us" feel like paying 10$ additional venue fees when we can just come the next day to play the same people. So I don't really think that CSEX vs CS2 at nemesis is that big of a deal because we probably won't even run a tournament, however, I do want to bring up the subject of banning stuff and going back in time with versions. My personal belief is that it's almost always a bad idea. Every time we did so or would have done so the result was or would have been bad. Want an example? When we banned Platinum at MAT because she'd only been released a week prior on PSN, nerdjosh couldn't enter the tournament, way to give ourselves exposure. If we had run CS2 at MAT it would have been really sad. If some Valk player had joined our scene we probably would have stopped banning him at our monthly tournaments even if he was way too strong, I mean did we ban Makoto? So yeah, no bans and always go forward with the versions. We have been playing CSX at all the meetups since we've had it and I really don't think anyone who has been playing it would like to put money to play in a tournament of a previous version. It doesn't matter if it's accessible to everyone or not, it's accessible at meetups. Just look at toronto, no one has the game but the community still plays it and are having a CSX tournament this weekend and I really don't think even one of them has considered the possibility of running CS2 instead of CSEX (well obv because gety doesn't have CS2 but even if that wasn't the case my point probably still stands). But yes we will definitely run our own tournament at foonzo. Wait a sec, I think we can even add a "II" at the end because yeah we did run one last year around the same time of year, you know, the one that Halifax and LK were at. Don't forget that. Oh yeah and blade, we're just kinda tsun. We miss you. I don't even know how to fight hakumen anymore. (we miss you too nolan) -

It might not seem practical to have a list like this, but I think it's still good material for someone who needs help with a matchup, so timestamps are mostly so when I add them to the first post it'll be easier. Anyways, the stream is actually pretty entertaining. The opponents aren't always the best players, but we still get to see and understand a lot of H.H's stuff, and well he's a kinda fun guy to listen to.

I'm thinking we should really run our own "major" at foonzo around march break. It would be really sweet if we could get people from Toronto and maybe even the states to come out, so we'd have to plan the date well. I'm thinking either the March 3rd weekend or the March 10th one, because 17th is LANETS. GGs tonight, and not really sad about evo, it wasn't going to happen. Lol like I said in the mu boards, "Oh well at least a side tournament, like other games such as super turbo and guilty gear... wait does this mean BB can be considered a good game now?" -
Are you guys actually surprised about Evo? Sure I would have liked BB to have been a main game, but given the games that are going to be out, it wasn't going to happen. Oh well at least a side tournament, like other games such as super turbo and guilty gear... wait does this mean BB can be considered a good game now? If you think a ragna will dead spike on oki you can always just late tech through it and punish, though this can be baited and punished as well by just picking you otg into a fresh combo. Then an answer to that can be to dp on wakeup. You just have to be aware of all your options, and make your opponent aware and afraid of them as well. Also, a stick won't make you better. Switching is painful because getting back to being as good as you were will take a while (months, depends on people). You need a real reason because else you'll just go back to pad with 150$ less, for me it was that playing on pad just shredded the skin of my thumb so I couldn't play more than a couple hours in a row. And well, having custom art is nice You probably already know this, pwnage, but I just want to make sure someone reading this thread doesn't misunderstand something

lol blade with that procrastination. Here I'll give you a reason why it's going to be CSEX. I'm not entering if it's CS2. Also, BB isn't mentioned in the Nemesis SRK thread. -

From foonzo's website : Anyways, if it's open today, I'm probably going, anyone else? -
Hm so this is a rough draft for what I was talking about, making a video of the combos for most situations :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG9ekpSVGHA If I get over 4 minutes of material off of 2a on grounded opponents I think this is going to be longer than I expected. Constructive criticism is appreciated.

So I'm working on the wiki and suddenly : Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data. Please try again. If it still does not work, try logging out and logging back in... but everything went better than expected. I updated the sections on 2A, 2C to 3C, so far so good? I have it :D

Anyways, for those interested, a few of us might head out to foonzo later today, some time around 6 PM probably. Sorry for the interruption, carry on. -
Oh I mean that what I'm thinking of doing is far from necessary, just something else to have, and a visual reference for those who need it somehow. Also, can I get an account or something on the wiki? I don't seem to be able to edit anything.

Probably, we're kind of discussing it because it's supposed to be a MTLSF day, but we're likely going to end up going anyways. It's just pure rape by tagers on both sides, you mean, lolol. -
Kind of late on the videos, but man dat fuzzy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-kWtO9Vc1k#t=10m58s telling myself "why couldn't I think of something so simple......", time to level up my mixup. Also, C0R, what are you working on with your HDPVR, the general tutorial video? Asking because I was thinking about doing a really long video with almost every scenario I can think of (all starters, crouching/standing, 0/50/100 meter, normal/CH, different distances from the corner, character specific stuff) for practical combos (not combovid material). I wouldn't want to overlap with what you're doing if that's what you had in mind, or if you had the intention of doing something like this eventually.

Shoutouts and GGs to you guys, had a great time. Canadian city rivalry gogo! Still a bit sad I had to leave early so I didn't get a chance to play some of you. So, as the terminator would say, "I'll be back". You guys aren't winning with tager against me once I get used to the new range on sledge
-
Ok so for tomorrow, I'm not sure, but I don't think I'm picking up anyone on my way to Omar's. If someone does in fact need a ride let me know. I'll give rides from there to gety and after that we'll talk about it I guess?

I'm currently out of town, seeing some family for Christmas, but if it's not done when I get back on the 29th, I could do it.

Merry Christmas, those combos look sweet.
