I'll see if I can do anything about brian's reign of terror on monday. Though I'm still free to brice's csex tager so definitely not guaranteed... I'll probably get up around 9 am and leave as early as possible so it depends on what time omar can have us come over. I need your address and omar's as well, cell # are also appreciated (in case I get lost or something ) oh and merry christmas

We can always play GG if you have a setup, I improved a bit since T12 (I think), but yeah ps3 disc and I didn't bring mine. I guess I can also give a ride to someone if they're more or less on my way, currently in Davisville. And damn I want to go sooo bad tonight but have stuff planned with my family so I really can't make it.
-
Hm, for monday, well if gety only opens at 4:30, maybe I could head to your place earlier omar, and then give you a ride to gety later if that's where people will be. I have my extend disc and ps3/360/ps2 modded stick.
-
Yeah I'll be there for sure on Monday, I'll be using my parents' car.
-
Lol that's the combo I used all through cs2, if you want to get fancy you could check out 6C into gold burst combos. Sorry if I can't help more than that, on extend now
-
What time does gety close/you guys leave? I might be able to sneak out later today, not very probable though :\

If I managed to change my habits of rage then you can too. Don't give up. What did the trick for me was playing LoL. Split your competitive focus in half, split your rage in half, and then you never reach the critical point. Bibi, stop hating on challenge mode combos, fun for lazy subs. Also, pretty good trolling value. Always hate losing to someone using exclusively challenge mode combos :p -
I know it was there in CS2, I mean the opposite, I think they might act like the rest of the cast now. Though maybe I'm just confused because it was once during a match. Not sure about j.2C, Bsledge's hitbox goes pretty high, but it's worth trying out (I'm not sure how accurate the hitbox pic is, pretty sure it's higher than that, or at least it feels higher). I'm talking about when I'm unable to 5C the startup because I'm either slightly too far, or placing a stein, etc. But yeah I guess I'm used to committing to a lot of stuff against tager when he doesn't have spark because there's not much he can do about it, but this kind of changes the situation.

So I'll be available to do something in toronto on dec 26th, would it be worth it that I bring my Extend copy, or more likely to end up at Gety? (if anything is to happen) Feb 4th sounds good, it's pretty early in the semester so there shouldn't be any school related restrictions on our end, but it's pretty close to Winter Brawl, so not entirely sure yet.

Played the game a bit the other day against some friends. Mu is definitely really solid, but since some other characters got some buffs I can see why we're not considered top tier (yet). Something I think I noticed but couldn't confirm, does airthrow RC switch sides now on bang? maybe on arakune as well, since they were the only two characters that stayed the same side for the RC combo. And ugh tager's charge sledge is kind of annoying, it's not that it catches me off guard or anything, but I can't seem to find a way to get a good punish when I see him charging it. Any ideas? All I'm doing is backing off and setting up for now, because anything else I tried felt really risky when I shouldn't be the one taking a risk (ex: 2B or 5C is going to get stuffed if he anticipates it and releases a bit earlier, or I anticipate that he releases earlier and end up whiffing it and eating a CH). Maybe I just have to get used to it. yeah sorry, it gets kind of cold in montreal, so when people that get warmer weather then us talk about it, I lol a bit. there are still a few other places colder than here though. That's actually really good to know. Wait does this actually mean that Mu is harder to play since you have to "delay" the links, though it won't really change for those that got used to the CS2 timings.

C0R save me, I need a new 214D corner combo hahahaha. ahahaha. ah. oh man that was pretty funny, sorry. Yes! Please do, I want to discuss Mu tech with someone else at EC majors. :D
-
Mine arrived this weekend, but I still have exams, so I figured it would be a good idea to lend it to a friend until I'm done.

Hmmm I didn't think of it that way, but I guess it makes way more sense. I was more like IAD back, if too close : block, if close : j.236A, if far : j.D, if conditionned + far : j.[D]. Using IAD back j.C was another category as opposed to reacting to my opponent's actions, just fishing for counterhits and letting my opponent know they can't get in without taking a risk, like I'd decide to do it before jumping. mu boards actually mu discussing gameplay, feels good.

Anyone going to foonzo tomorrow evening? I'd be there like 4:30-9:30 or so. I'd only be able to bring my stick. Oh and kirbster you should post a pic of your stick it's so awesome. -
Oh I misunderstood your comment, my bad. I think it should be really good against all the characters besides Lambda and Hazama, because those two won't be going in on you, but I have yet to try it out on everyone. Oh also, not on tager because of his mobility. Actually I was wondering how Sakuma played the tager matchup. Oh right, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNnVokEjFxM#t=4m1s poke with 5C cancel into xD a lot. I should do that more.

Yeah, when I get that try to figure out what I'm doing wrong and if I can't I just take a break. Like the other day playing casuals with some friends at some point just kept doing stupid shit (bad decisions, not just bad inputs) and losing I was like "ok guys I need a break nothing's working." so I got something to eat, thought about other things, came back and it went a lot better. Not entirely unrelated, I've been doing WAY better in BB ever since I started playing league of legends, real talk. nope, not exclusive to valk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1BB2c43njw#t=12m48s

To give you guys an example of something you can copy from watching videos, personally, I'm starting to use Sakuma's IAD back j.C, which is godlike to punish people who rush at you expecting IAD back j.236A for example. Counter hit is glorious and risk is minimal, sometimes you even gain space to setup if you opponent does nothing. You just have to worry about cornering yourself and if you do it too late you'll eat a CH, so it's not braindead to use. I still need to get used to the timing and what to do after if it whiffs, but I can see why he uses it so much. A much simpler example is how often H.H goes 236A 236D intead of simply 236D to make it safer. It's far from being out of our reach.
-
So I finally updated the first post of the video thread, good thing I reserved a second one, first time I actually reach the limit number of characters for a single post. I added these sentences at the beginning, and I just want to make sure it's ok with you guys. "Hey there, are you interested in playing Mu but don't recognize any big player names? Well, if you're looking for someone to imitate, check out Ogarabu/H.H. The best Mu player is probably Sakuma, but his playstyle is very difficult to reproduce effectively. Also, if you're looking for more matchup specific knowledge, CS2 videos may still be relevant, so they are listed in the post below." There is a lot of truth in this.

Results for last night's farewell CS2 tournament 1: Vice-Taicho 2: Brice 3: Level5 4: Pochp 5: Fred 5: Nedel 7: Kirbster 7: Kaeru 9: Bibiquadium 9: Rhannmah 9: Blade 9: Kr3wman 13: Airmaster Work : Nini Heart GGs guys thanks for coming and saying farewell to CS2. Special thanks to brice for running the tournament, air for bringing that gundam, and everyone who brought equipment as well. Huge shoutouts to foonzo for the awesome renovations. Purely godlike, enough to make every other scene in the WORLD jealous. Think about it this way instead. You used to just random people out through mashing and autopilot, but now you actually earn your wins. All you need to do is keep playing and get used to actually playing the game, and you WILL improve, it just takes time. Also, don't forget that you're not the only one improving, and that because of Nini, we know how to play against makoto like to take our hate out on your makoto. Or as Kaeru would say : NEVER GIVE UP SOUL TAMASHI SOMETHING SOMETHING ETC. Oh and no problem for the extra $$ I'll have it on me when I'll take my copy. edit : now that CRTs are like gone, we really need to find a way to record from HDMI. -

GGs last night, thanks for coming over guys. Zappa is so much fun, I think I'll play my sub more often, and probably get a sub in BB as well. edit : I've been thinking about this a bit, I will run a danisen league for us when we get CSEX, there is no doubt. However, I was wondering, when do you guys feel ready to start? I can understand if people want to go into training mode a lot before doing ranked matches, HOWEVER, my opinion is that we're better starting right off the bat, and I hope everyone will participate even though they're not ready. My reasoning is that 1) you'll be able to see the actual fruit of your labor once you get a better feel of your character, and 2) if we tell ourselves to start it immediately, we won't end up pushing it back non-stop like in CS2. Those who don't know exactly what a danisen league is or how it works, it's a bit like the PSR system, in the sense that everyone has a rank. Wins and losses are counted, you rank up at +X and rank down at -X, and can only play people of similar rank. Most danisens have similar rules, but they all have differences, and I'm going to make a personalized rule set for ours that we can debate about and change whenever. The danisen league won't involve money in any way (except I might use it to seed tournaments), and you can enter with as many characters as you want, each one of them having their own rank. The whole point is to help level up our community as a whole, encourage people to pick up subs, and have an even more fun experience with the game. In case it wasn't obvious, you don't HAVE to play only ranked games at meetups, but there WILL be a limit on the number of ranked games you CAN play in a single day, against the same opponent/character combo. I'll post a complete set of rules soon. Feel free to ask questions. Just to give you an example, here's what I could have eventually: pochp - Mu 6th dan-1 pochp - Arakune 2nd dan+2 pochp - Litchi 4th kyuu-3 brice - tager 9th dan+0 kirbster - rachel 9th dan+0 kirbster - ragna 6th dan+1 etc. -
...does this mean GG is back at Gety?
-
I'll make it to this, with at least a few others from Montreal. Probably just gonna be GG and BB for me.
