We'll be at Gety... tomorrow. Since there will probably be a lot of people, how about a TO vs MTL exhibition? planning on leaving mtl before noon on friday, so we should be at gety around 6-7 pm I guess.

While this sounds true, omohikane is actually really good in the corner. It puts you and your opponent at the perfect range to make 2b catch rolls, pick up people who stay on the ground otg into a fresh combo, and low profile some DPs. After omohikane, you can also usually do meaty 236a and you'll usually recover in time to block wakeup DPs, so it's really good for baiting. It also gives you more of a life lead, which is really important if the match is in its last 20 seconds. And well I find the psychological factor of taking over 6k damage in a single combo will often cause your opponent to take bad decisions, like not teching. That said, don't abuse, it's far inferior to RC mixup and stein setups, and definitely not worth the 50 heat if your opponent knows how to deal with it.

oh lawl that was roldy? sorry about dcing randomly in a match, even though it really looked like a ragequit. Connections overall were decent, I spent a bit of time in training mode right before and it felt really similar :O bibi, you can always upload it to mtlblazblue youtube account directly through twitch.tv if you want. greenix, unless I'm mistaken, when you watch a stream, you upload to others, so you the amount of people doesn't have that much of an impact. -

I'll be there tomorrow, I can't say for sure when I'll arrive though, some time between 3 and 10 pm. -
We can bring up to 2 monitors, and copies+consoles as well.

GGs last night to Brice, Kaeru, Alex, and JP. Shoutouts to wakeup icecar, randomness is the way to go Update for trip to Toronto, turns out me and kaeru are going to leave more or less around the same time so we may redistribute the people between the cars to be closer to everyone's location. -
The challenge mode doesn't have the combo I use the most often though. If there's one combo you should learn with Mu it's this. (at least slightly close to the corner) 2a 2b 5c SoD dash 6a (slight delay) 6b 6a j.2c j.d 2b 5c 2c (stein fires) j.2c (have to super jump the last j.2c on noel, platinum, makoto, and rachel) other than that check the combo thread for combos that start with 6b (corner), j.c air to air counterhit (midscreen), 6a CH midscreen, 2c CH midscreen, and thows for midscreen, corner, and close to corner. That really what you hit with most often (in addition to 2a and 2b corner, which use the combo I posted above).

that's the problem with your equation. This is where you're supposed to go "idgaf if I lost cause it was laggy anyways". -

I dunno I find netplay exposes you to different people, it's more about reading your opponent since it can be hard to react, and it's just more BB. I don't really care when I win or lose, and if some connection is too bad or someone is just abusing crap you can just play someone else. Some of my recent "could have been frustrating but idgaf cause it's netplay" experiences include go 2a 2b hitconfirm into 5b 5c combo, but get 720'd between the 5b and 5c... wakeup in the corner with OS throw tech, get green thrown anyways, no TRM... opponent whiffs air move, dash in punish with 2a, eat 5b counterhit... It's also a nice place to learn a sub, once you get combos and mixup down. I would have netplayed yesterday but instead I started reading medaka box, so entertaining lol.... -

For the record, but mostly because I don't want someone to be forgotten, it's mostly me and kaeru planning it so far, with lots of help from air, bibi, and brice. I think brice would be more productive if he stopped getting drunk and playing katawa shoujo at meetups. thanks for that too, blade. We will eventually need everyone to help out when it'll come to bagchecks, foonzo are kinda strict on that, and I want people that I can trust and depend on to be in charge throughout the day (one hour shifts in groups of 2 are what I'm thinking atm). -
My skype is pochped. BTW, what does [DDC] stand for?

Summary from discussion with Jin from the meetup : foonzo's menu isn't done being updated, there should be combos some time before MAD, and other surprises. Recording equipment will be handled soon, we can probably do some tests in 2 weeks, so monthly tournaments are gonna be hyped up. We'll have foonzo all to ourselves on Saturday, with possible extended hours if we need them, as well as some reserved setups for casuals on friday and sunday. We can reorganize foonzo to a certain extent, so we'll make an equipment spreadsheet soon, like for MAT. I think that's it, if there's something I forgot that's relevant plz add, if there's something I shouldn't have said just say so I'll edit. Other than that, ggs for tonight, thanks to everyone for coming out. Should probably have run a tournament lol. Maybe you could crash at my place, I'd have to check with my parents. -
When I happen to play pad I mash dp so hard because I find it so easy... but then again the way I do it just destroys my thumbs, which is why I switched to stick in the first place. I think we could do this, iirc the tager and rachel boards have a skype room to chat.

Yeah, on friday we'll be staying near gety and on saturday we'll be at the hotel/venue downtown. -

for the record, f-zero has airdashes :D the main train station is like a 6 minute walk from Foonzo. I think we can add it to the "if we have enough time" list. I prefer running everything that we planned on running and then adding extras, than being in a situation where we have to cancel an event. After a discussion yesterday, I think we'll be able to run KoF. at least you can still come for casuals with the out of towners on friday/sunday I guess :/ wtf t'es rendu a Laval?
-
I'm pretty sure we can fit HnK (PS2). Since melty will be run on laptops, the only other games that will be using the CRTs are GG and F-zero GX. KoF is highly probably going to happen, we need to discuss this tonight first, because the issue here is space and amount of people at the venue. I think Rhannmah does, but it' been unreliable lately. I was thinking something more along the lines of a "Montreal vs the invaders" aka everyone gets bodied by vice taicho. But of course that's if we can fit it in the schedule.

I should be there around 5 with my stick, bbcsex, and laptop. -
These are my options mostly. It's not airtight and some parts you can get mashed out of, but its also full of frame traps, and both 6a CH 2b (whiff) 2c and 2c CH 5c whiff are excellent hitconfirms for these traps. Some are particularly weak against some characters, so you just have to figure out what works for you (ex: 6c 214d against platinum will make you eat a heart car). It's working out pretty well for me so far, at first it wasn't as great but recently I've been able to tell how many times I can dash 2a after a blocked 2b to make my opponent eat 2b 2c frame traps :D start with dash in 2a 6a 2b then you can go into these as many times as you feel like risking it 2b dash 2a 6a 2b... 3c IAD crossup j.C 2c 5c 2c 5c 236a 3c j.2c j.236a if you have a stein on them : 5c 214d if you have a stein behind them : 5c 236d or this for mixup : (2a 6a) 6b 2a 6b dash 6b (ya rly) any form of throw/tickthrow/trm (2a throw, 2b throw, 2aa throw, 2a dash 2a-pinkthrow...) If you start adding meter to the mix, you get even more options, like 6b(1) RC 2b etc. Always keep an eye out for steins, they also open options. What you do while applying this pressure is to try to get a read on your opponent, or back out if you're not sure. Of course you always have to try to see if your opponent is using barrier as it will make 2c whiff, or instant block, making everything more dangerous for you. The most important thing is to stay unpredictable.
-
For the current number of setups we're planning on having, we should have enough copies of both.
-
Yeah we'll need a lot of PS3s, around 8. I'll probably make another google doc spreadsheet like last year so we can organize who brings what easily. AH3 should happen.
-
Good use of airdashes, j.C, 236A/j.236A... yup with that you're good for a while
-
There should be a stream archive. Yes all outside food and drinks are banned, but the rule concerning water bottles is as long as it's small it's okay (say less than 750ml or so), I just asked. There will be casuals on the days around the event at Foonzo. And about the exams, yeah it kind of sucks, I hope it all works out. It's really hard to just set a date
