Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters
pochp replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
This just in, MTLBB is going to a Cabane a Sucre this spring. Pour fresh maple syrup all over this : -
lolwut? First time we decide to organize a tournament, a few guys from the SF community decide to participate and one of them gets second place. Said he really likes BB and would like to participate in our stuff more, but prefers SF and doesn't have enough time to come to meetups for both. He still enters our tournaments when he can. Playing other games also teaches you things that can be applied in BB. For example, the small amount of SF4 I play taught me to tech throws (to a certain degree) and some basic footsies.

Wait you guys can't IAD? There's a motion to it, you don't jump and dash really fast, lol. Do 9-5-6, it's really easy both on pad and stick once you know the trick. It has to be done fast and it's essential to return to neutral (5) between the 9 and 6. Do 7-5-4 for IAD back. Just don't get carried away by IAD forward, it's rarely a good idea, IAD back however is essential to Mu's gameplay IMO. Solar : Do your best to get along well with your local SF community. If ever they organize a big tournament, maybe you guys can have a side tournament at their event. It's really good for exposure, and you never know, maybe some of them also happen to play BB. C0R : Moving in with some other BB players... I'm so jelly

I'm at a tournament this weekend in Toronto, went 3-2 (36 entrants) in singles. I kept dropping dash2B and getting 6B in my corner combos because I haven't been playing this game too much recently... w/e wish me luck in teams tomorrow. General articles about BB or more specifically about Mu? If you're looking for ideas... how/when/why to use meter effectively, how to learn and improve (like what to look for) when watching match videos, how to prepare for a tournament, how to use steins effectively (placement, cancelling), how to hitconfirm, how and when to use option selects... Maybe you could do interviews, especially if it's going to be a weekly thing, like either discussing a matchup with a good player of the other character, or interviewing other Mu players with questions such as what's their general gameplan, what setups they prefer and why, how do they train, general advice they have for people learning the character, etc. (maybe starting with yourself to show an example) It's up to you though, write about something you know well and it should be helpful and interesting.

So top 4 in blazblue going to be streamed is going to be Kirbster and XDest in winners and Nini Heart and Level6-chan in losers. Steb pulled a RyRy in marvel, all he had to do was zero super xfactor zero super but he wanted to be fancy, dropped the combo and lost. Nini Heart as well, dropped a fancy combo on MarlinPie, and then mapped his buttons wrong in losers. Nini Heart is attracted by Roldy. Said he'd tip him if he was the waitress. -
Really nice, gj! dunno if you forgot it or were going to add later, but 6B starter in the corner might be good to have.

We usually start the tournament at 8. I think we've got people who have to leave early and others who arrive late, so I think we should do it singles single elim best of 1, sbo style. With money? I'll get to foonzo really early, maybe 1-2 PM. Got that stick and GG disk, as well as my laptop. -

Ok, we're haven't booked anything yet so we'll keep you in mind. We'll either book it tonight or tomorrow, but it'll be done before the tournament, lol, we're staying there Friday and Saturday nights. -
yeah it's something we love saying, it means "eat a load of shit". In french though, it's supposed to be "mange un char de marde" which is literally "eat a car load of shit", but we cut it down to "mange un char" which is literally "eat a car". "Char" means "tank", but it's also slang for "car" or other vehicles in general. quebec french is better than french from france, real talk. we like to transform words to make our slang, rather than take words directly from english like they do in france. You know how they call "chicken pie"? "chickenpie". Every region has it's own slang, so it's funny to hear people that don't live around your area speak. oh and I'll give you a hint about what brice said. Srai is just "serait". yay for kousaka. so I think I heard linear and mr mortified play mahjong? let's do this.

I like doing this one if I'm going for primers : (combo finishes with) 6A j.2C j.D 2B 5C 2C j.2C j.6[D] (meaty) 5C SoD (level 1-2) 214D 6]D[ 214]D[ (In theory they've blocked everything since the last j.2C) then you either do 6B SoD 2B 5C SoD 3C SoD SoD level 3 and then you can always RC into another choice of the above. This isn't airtight though, so if you do it all the time, your opponent will have time to see it coming and place a DP/Super/Reversal.

Not sure I'll go to foonzo today, I have a few things I really should do for work since I won't be able to this weekend. I might pass before supper though, like 3PM-6PM or so, maybe if somebody's going to be there. I didn't bring my stick though so... :/ I'll add you, omar. Don't think I'll be able to play until next week though -

Let's do single elim 1 match so we have enough time to do GG as well. Maybe we could even do marvel earlier if there are people for that. Who can bring a recording setup? -

omfg 6A CH directly into 5C 6C habacan... can't wait to start getting more out of my 6As. just a head's up, but I think you're missing a few 2C j.C j.2C j2/6D 2B 5C 2C j.2C (for 214d, 6a CH, maybe your 2c CH corner, maybe others?). I haven't tested these yet, but I think you'll need them for the last j.2C to connect. and in the combo off DP you have ...6A j.2D j.D...

Is anyone planning on going to foonzo tomorrow? hmm apparently there's this pre-sbo tier list that came out, september arcadia : S: Makoto A: Jin, Noel, Valkenhayn, Litchi, Carl, Lambda-11, Hazama, Taokaka B: Tsubaki, Rachel, Mu-12, Ragna, Bang, Haku-Men, Arakune, Platinum C: Tager found it here : http://www.hitconfirm.com.br/2011/09/10/bbcs2-arcadia-tier-list-set-2011/ the one who wrote the article thinks there's a difference horizontally for the tiers, but unless I'm mistaken, that's not usually the case for arcadia. However maybe it's different this time, since they actually changed horizontal placements since the last tier list. -
I was actually going to update my set of combos and practice all the optimal ones this weekend, so I was going to browse this thread and make myself a list, but want me to post it here afterwards? I was gonna get optimal corner and midscreen (with meter) for each starter, on standing and crouching.

Oh somehow I overslept this morning and it was too late for me to go to class, so I'm wondering how early are people going to show up at foonzo? I might be there for like 1 PM, but I might show up later if there's gonna be no one else before a lot later.
