I used to play on pad in cs1, I don't really use it in cs2, but I have tried it out once or twice and the practical combos themselves aren't really hard. Lots of people are saying that there's no real difference between what you can do with pad as opposed to stick, I mean wolfkrone made top 8 at evo with C.Viper on pad, and Latif used to play Eddie on pad (but switched because he wanted to participate in SBO which is an arcade tournament, so no pads). The only real issue is that after playing a long time non-stop on pad, your execution might not be as good as on stick. I know my fingers used to hurt when I played a lot, that's why I made the switch. For corner combos, just you could just stick with (whatever starter) 5C SoD 6A delay 6B 6A j.2C j.D 2B 6A j.C (laser hits) j.2C. It's really easy and universal, although do (whatever starter) 5C SoD dash 6A j.2C j.D 2B 6A j.C (laser hits) j.2C if your opponent is airborne at the beginning. Corner throw use this though : throw dash DELAAAAY 6A delay 6B 6A j.2C j.D 2B 6A j.C (laser hits) j.2C, and overhead go 6B SoD dash 6A j.2C dash 2B 6A j.2C j.D 2B 6A j.C j.2C. For a dummy, use one that you have to delay 6A-6B on, because it still works on everyone if you delay it, and if you don't get used to it, it'll hurt when fighting a makoto/bang/noel/etc. This isn't optimal, but it's really easy, does decent damage and gives you decent oki.

Or just send me and/or brice a text message saying that you want to come but can't be there tonight. -
I could probably play you on PSN eventually, we should get a decent connection. I just lent my copy of the game to a friend, but I asked to have it back asap so I could practice the new set of optimal combos. If I had some advice to you, I'd say use 2C more, it's a great anti air. For sure do the challenges, they make you understand a lot of stuff. Dunno how proficient I'm considered, but I could show you at least some stuff if we play.

I don't know if this will work, but you could try rebinding your analogs and buttons to keyboard keys with Joytokey, then binding the keyboard keys to the game's controls. -

Were there any other videos besides the one vs dacidbro and the one below? I'd like to see more non-JP mu videos. Um and would it be ok to add these to the Video Thread? Like in a separate category from the JP mu? I have these from our ranbats last week, if anyone's interested, I did pretty well somehow : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=37m26s vs bang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=42m02s vs jin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=1h21m15s vs bang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=1h25m vs makoto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=1h35m17s vs tager http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=1h45m16s vs bang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0#t=1h49m vs makoto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9U1K1qEQt0 pre tournament casuals vs rachel x3

Did you delete them? Or maybe nini didn't give them all to you. Unless I'm mistaken you uploaded the other matches form the 11th, they were the ones where you didn't have the commentary track, just the game audio. Don't worry about it if you can't find them though, it's not that big of a deal. -

New version of the scene exposed video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0vCXm7hEvs Bibi should upload the remaining videos from the 11/8/2011 tournament, so I can use grand finals instead of winners finals for the last clip. -
I could try. I know that I can download the MP3, and since I'm using videos from youtube as well as pictures from the internet for the visual part, it'll be pretty easy to synch them back together if there are things that need fixing, as well as add anything afterwards. Maybe I'll even find a way to download the .flv file, which would make the whole thing even simpler.

I haven't found a way to edit the video after it's finished, so I guess that just means more planning. I'll see what I can do about keeping it short as well, I covered a lot of stuff in this test video that I won't have to explain again. The idea was kind of to help people understand what's going on in the matches and how they should modify their own way of playing the character according to what they learned. The problem is that when you're not that good yet you won't know what to look for and learn from. Basically, making watching match videos more instructive.

Turns out I won't go to Foonzo today, not feeling that well. I should be there Tuesday though. -
Yeah, I say "think" because I didn't try it out, but it looks like there's a function to add a guest commentator. It has to be done live though, like the rest of the casting itself, but I'll try it out with a friend of mine and I'll get back to you on that.

j.C is good as an air to air or to make people respect your space, like IAD back j.C, but not as a jump in. Jump in with j.B if you really want to, but jumping in isn't always Mu's best option to approach, although this is matchup and situation specific. Maybe someone else can give their point of view on this, because I'm speaking mostly from personal experience and watching videos of Mu players getting consistently blown up for jumping in with j.C. Yeah about the audio, I just used my laptop's mic, next time I'll see about using something better. I have real equipment, but I haven't used it in a while. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah having another person explaining what the other character is doing is a pretty good idea, I think you can do that really easily on eLive. In retrospect I probably didn't pick the best match though, and I think I said a few things that weren't too accurate, so if you guys find any mistakes, just tell me and I'll add them to the description. I also had fun doing this so yeah I'll do others for sure if people liked the this. eLive is really easy to use, so it might also be worth a shot to try it out for the critique thread, because sometimes just saying things with visuals support is easier than typing it out. @Solar : Makoto's hitbox is a pain, I say just do simple combos on her because the extra damage is not worth the high risk of a drop. I say this because I haven't found a trick to hit it consistently, but if anyone does, speak up I want to know as well @YukiBlue : at this point you should probably record the clips, and then attempt to arrange them maybe in a way that goes with the song, for example transitions between combos when riffs change. Try this with both songs and pick the one you feel fits best.

Plz say if you're coming tomorrow, if it's just going to be me and brice I might not go. I might not go anyways because I have a few things to sort out, and I've been going to foonzo a lot lately. If you guys have like 45 minutes of either nothing to do or nothing to listen to, check this out and give me some feedback. I talked about doing these kind of videos a while ago and this one is mostly a test. http://www.elive.pro/en/watch/rlNkRq5izKR5 You can adjust the volume by placing your mouse over the volume icon, then over show all, and then you can change the value for my voice and the video I'm casting. -
Ok I did something kind of special tonight. After hearing about eLive I decided to try it out, and I commentated and analysed a match by Sakuma. This is mostly for more or less beginner Mu players trying to figure out how to play the character, but there might be something you can learn watching this. http://www.elive.pro/en/watch/rlNkRq5izKR5 So anyways, tell me if you liked this and think it's a good idea. If so, I might keep doing these. I think I may have exaggerated a bit on this one, the video is 44 minutes long, but I covered and explained a lot of stuff that I won't need to explain in the next videos. You can adjust the volume by placing your mouse over the volume icon, then over show all, and then you can change the value for my voice and the video I'm casting.

I'm looking forward to what C0R has to say as well, these are matchups I don't fully understand myself yet. Just some advice, I felt like you had very limited options on block to finish your blockstrings. It was like either 3C jump out, 5D IAD back, 5D 236A, or SoD level 2-3. Add a few things like special cancelling 6C/5C/3C/j.2C directly into 236A to run in for another mixup or even 236D/214D if the steins are in a position that makes this even better. Just don't get carried away and do it every time, because it's easy for an opponent to answer this if they're expecting it, but the reward is great if you catch them off guard. I dunno if this is appropriate advice, but one way I found to deal with nerves in particular was to shake my opponent's hand at the beginning of the match and/or say something like "good luck" or "let's do this". I haven't done massive tests to determine if this has a real effect on nerves themselves, or it's more my opponent, but I recall being able to think clearly in matches where I did this as opposed to sometimes just autopiloting in the other case. Maybe it's just me though, but good luck with them nerves anyways. Another thing about nerves is never start thinking "this guy's free" or "I don't wanna look free". That's when you stop focusing on the match and get blown up, or at least that's the case for me. It gets better over time, I guess, keep attending the ranbats and good luck!

I dunno about a picture of the community in the first post. I don't have anything against it, but other communities don't do it, so I'd wait for everyone to be okay with it first. Oh blade you don't know? Ever since I started shaving, I somehow took the habit of shaving only when the season changes. Although I make an exception for job interviews, each year I tell myself to shave more often as a new years resolution but it never works. Other than that I didn't know Detroit started with the letter M -

AE tournament was hype yesterday, got 41 entrants, top players were banned. That's like a blazblue major. I went 0-2, both matches were the first time I played the matchups ever, but I can't really complain since I only played like less than ten matchups before the tournament. results according to smokey : 1st-Rami(Akuma) 2nd-Prez(Rose,Sagat) 3rd-Karamba(Guy) 4th-Jayson Boss (Sagat) 5th-Smoon(Ken) 5th-Mana Boy(Cammy) Me, level5, airmaster and nini entered, but we all did pretty badly. Anyone going to foonzo sunday? -
