I'll get a brownie for Nini and Solomon next time you guys are both there. Does anyone have results for last week btw? I wasn't there when it ended. I'll go to foonzo today, I think I'll be there at like 4 or so, for AE.
  2. I should be at foonzo around like 3 PM today. Nini, send me the subtitle's file, I'll see what I can do with it : poch.ped@gmail.com
  3. Okay, I transcribed the video for our Scene Exposed video. Please correct any typos and w/e. I was thinking about removing Vice-Taicho's part (because it's short and he sort of but not really asked for it), and putting a clip before each interview from the interviewed player, like a hype moment. I know what I'm going to put for me, but what about the others? If you have any ideas, please post them. It should be like 5 seconds long, like a nice read or reset. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo6HlwOVX7s Ok we're currently in the heart of MTL and we're gonna go meet up with the blazblue boys, so get hype. Gonna see where the montreal scene hangs and what they do. Oh shit I'm going into a dungeon, going into a dungeon, dungeon, 18+ sorry guys, no kids here this is serious business. So this is the place where montreal players are fiending. Blazblue on the right, Blazblue on the right, Marvel, games everywhere. We got Street Fighter, Street Fighter, MK, we got everything over here. This is montreal, canada's top for fighting games, the best city for fighting games in canada, get hype. (Brice's interview) Uh oh, this is montreal's ex champ, montreal's ex champ, he doesn't speak english fuck you so we're gonna perform this in French. (in french)"Hi who are you?" "My name is Brice" "You're called Brice?" "Yeah" "Where do you come from" "Why are you turning the camera? I'm from montreal" "No you're French, what you say?" … So how do you feel about your scene? Uh it's the best scene ever. why? Uh because we're awesome. (airmaster) No Airmaster get out of here And like we can all speak two languages (french and english) Yeah ok that's kind of cool So like everybody understands everybody How strong do you feel your scene is as a whole? I think our scene is really good because we meet often yup But uhhh we're not on Lord Knight's level and stuff like that. But like Lord Knight is like the only good player on the east coast. Lord Knight and Zidane. Without them the East Coast is free. Yeah okay then, maybe they're the best except for us. So you think we're the best on the East Coast? If we take Lord Knight and Zidane out. Huh? If we take Lord Knight and Zidane out of the equation, we're the best? Yeah, for sure. (Kirbster's interview) So, Kirbster, how do you feel about our scene? It's getting to be pretty good actually. Getting to be pretty good? Yeah yeah yeah. Um, we're going out to more majors and stuff. Yup Having regular meetups, 2-3 times per week. Do you feel the scene as a whole is strong or we just have a few good players? I would say the level of skill, yeah it goes from one extreme to the other. yeah but uh, more practice will help us more practice will help us but it's there there are a bunch of us who are at a certain level that not everyone has reached. How do you think we could improve the strength of our scene? Our scene? Play more, man! (Interview with Vice-Taicho) (in french) "Hi, I'm with Vice-Taicho" the winner of the last Montreal tournament, last major, MAT8. "How do you train?" "How?" "Yeah how, because you don't often come to meetups." "Uh, usually netplay." "Lots of netplay?" "Yeah, lots of netplay" "How do you find our scene here?" "It's cool, the guys are relax." "Relax…" (Interview with pochp) Ok I'm with (Rhannmah) HELLO Haha, ok I'm with Pedro Yeah The host of montreal's scene he's been organizing I'm not… Yes you are, he's been organizing all the tournaments, and the current ranbats are all thanks to him. So Pedro how do you feel about your scene? Uh it's pretty awesome, like, l'm usually jealous of other scenes, but it's like we're building our own, so it's awesome yeah you've been doing a lot of work and you've been here since the beginning. Do you feel that your scene has improved? Uh yeah a lot. We used to be like really bad but like now, we've been traveling a bit, you know, improving a lot, playing each other like every week so it's good it's good. I heard you've been traveling a lot, I heard you went to ECT, yeah T12, you and Brice no, T11 T11 T11 And the last tournament in Toronto uh yeah yeah there was a little tournament a few weeks ago and I heard you're going to summer jam too yeah, with you haha I'm driving though you're pretty dedicated yeah, we try to travel, try to like make interest, get better, you know it's good motivation, to travel, it makes you want to get better, then people at home get better because they have to keep up, so… (Blade's interview) Okay, I'm with BladeofJustice-o-7 what's up the second face of blazblue montreal, he's been hosting tournaments since day one with pedro. Blade how do you feel about your scene? It's really good that the community is doing a lot of traveling, going to other tournaments, which is really good for the scene, greater exposure for montreal, and we get better exposure for guilty gear and blazblue. Blazblue's been developing so, that was a second goal of mine, a lot of people are getting into guilty gear, and from that maybe we could see the resurrection of guilty gear again well hopefully (at the end) Okay we're at the end of the meetup day. Everyone's pretty hype, everyone's pretty happy. It was a fun tournament. (brice) no The best man won (brice) no what the fuck tager was in grand finals, this is montreal only. tager in grand finals. (brice) you only won because you play makoto. this is kirbster, he got 4th place or 3rd place good shit, this is blade, he got 4th place or 3rd place, good shit too. Everyone looks really happy, especially brice. (brice) except the real winner. good job on getting second place (brice) yo… yo… and this ends the day of the montreal scene.
  4. if it's teams I'd be willing to team up with you if you're ok with it, but it looks like singles, no? Guess we'll have to ask when we see them.
  5. Lol says Nini "only plays cheap characters" Heart. I'm still hesitating between sagat and blanka. (by the way someone in the mtlsf thread said combofiend will be at T12 get hype) I should be able to go pretty early to foonzo tomorrow, some time between 2-4 PM.
  6. lol I'm thinking about getting better at SF myself, though, because it has such a big scene in montreal everywhere. Not really good though, just decent. Need to ask woolie for some tips at some point.
  7. Yeah I'll probably leave at around 7 or 8. I have your controller in my bag.
  8. the audio is the important part, it's not a very long video... omg blade XD
  9. blade you should watch this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5jf-wVqXWg&NR I'll go to foonzo pretty early tomorrow, I only have class from 8:30-11:30. Don't think I'll stay very late though. Since I couldn't do anything productive all weekend, I put some practice into Marvel, 3S, GG, and SSF4 (it's not like training mode changed a lot for blanka). So I'm up to play anything all afternoon if there's someone else who has nothing better to do. I'll bring my stick, GG and AH3. (and nolan's controller)
  10. now try... the ride of the valkyries. I also think the song solar just posted fits pretty well. I guess mixing the audio and video can be seen as a form of art, some people may like what you did and others won't, and the reasons won't necessarily be rational. So to YukiBlue, do what you think feels right. Advice for anyone who feels like making a combo video : just don't randomly pick a song you like and stick it to your video without any thought at all oh and this is just a "head's up", depending on how known the song you decide to add to your video, youtube may do some shit. It ranges from nothing to putting an add for that song on your video, or even removing the audio from your video and putting a sort of warning on your account that stops you from uploading 15+ min videos. Not saying you have to be a hiptser or anything about it, lol, just don't post stuff that's just way too popular unless you're okay with this.
  11. woah somehow I would never have imagined biaxident would have fit THAT WELL, lol. I had acid rain in mind for laser resets/pickups/etc. if ever I was to make a video <- loves lte but listen to the dimmu borgir song while putting the combo video's audio loud enough to hear Mu's voice. It really gives it a special feel... but eh maybe it's just me.
  12. Lol I kinda agree with Ve as well, but it's funny because I also think Mu fits well with an epic destruction of the world. The best way to see if a song fits is well... to try it. There's this video here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MNkCWoqEsg which is just a bunch of combos nonstop, so listen to a song while watching the video, and see if you like the mix. To go with what I said above, try that for these two songs : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M37Sm9s_CWo and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-hsa1a7kyM . They both fit (IMO) but in completely different ways.
  13. PS3 version has slight input lag, Xbox version runs faster than arcade. When I switch from one console to the other I think I may drop combos slightly more for the first few rounds. PSN may be inferior to XBL for netplay in some situations, but I think PSN has more players (not necessarily more skilled though). Some people say XBL is better, some say it's the same... Either way, do yourself and your opponents a favor and play with a wired connection if ever you want to netplay. Both console's D-Pads and Analog sticks are viable once you get used to them, unless I'm mistaken, I know people who use all of these to play this game and can do anything they want. Dual-modding an Xbox TE stick is simpler than dual modding a PS3 TE though. (dual mod allows the stick to play on both PS3 and Xbox) I own both and play on both, although I don't really netplay often. They're both pretty even, but I'd lean slightly towards PS3, because when you're plugged into a CRT with the Xbox version, you can't change the screen resolution to see the exclamation marks for a throw when you're in the corner, but that's barely an issue... until people start abusing purple throws in the corner? Also, it's easier to synch multiple controllers for PS3, but if you have friends who play, the most important thing is to have the same system as them. Both allow you to enjoy the game and get better at it.
  14. There might be a 3v3 AE tournament at Foonzo on Tuesday. I don't know if it'll happen or how many will show up, but we will have to share setups with them if we're to have a meetup.
  15. ROFL nini! I watched that tournament yesterday, but I was practicing combos at the same time, so I didn't look at all when they weren't playing, and all along the crowd cheering the noel I was like "wtf, fuck noel, what the fuck is wrong with these guys". Nolan, I'll bring it if I don't forget. Since this is foonzo and not HQ, time varies, just check the thread and/or the CHAT and show up.
  16. I would've, but my left cheek is still huge as fuck. Hopefully I'll feel better for Tuesday.
  17. Asus vh236h I have one. they rock
  18. I play this matchup a lot. I think it's in mu's favor, either 5.5-4.5 or 6-4, but I get that it's really frustrating for the rachel player because "braindead" stein placement ruins her usual gameplay. It's really a momentum based matchup, but Mu has the advantage at neutral... until the pumpkin comes out. I try to stay anywhere from fullscreen placing steins to 5C range for poking at neutral. The important thing is to stop rachel from summoning the pumpkin IMO because it shuts down your gameplan. You can't anti air her jump ins, punish lobelias, place steins, etc. without eating a CH pumpkin, it makes me especially sad that 236A disappears if the pumpkin hits you. Once I get a knockdown, Rachel usually has to use wind and take risks to get out of pressure. Same goes for when rachel gets you in the corner, I just block a lot, and then either jump out when I'm anticipating a lobelia, DP in a gap if I know there's one coming, use 2B if there's a staring contest, and use omohikane on a lobelia summon to get out of corner pressure. Else, counter assault and gold burst are great. I rarely use 236D outside of pressure (like, cancelling a 5C into 236D) because it's easy for the rachel to get out of its trajectory using wind and then summon a pumpkin. Simply more steins is more effective IMO. 214D is still effective because it can catch them off guard. 236A is good at midrange, excellent to cancel into from a blocked 5C or 3C. 2C is a great anti air but don't use it if there's a pumpkin. 6C is awesome to catch summons and backdashes, use this, more than in most matchups, just don't get baited because rachel can deal good damage off a punish if she has enough wind. A trick I love using is to go like blockstring 2A 2B 2B (2B) 5C 236A dash 6B. If spaced right, the 236A will keep rachel in blockstun right before your 6B hits, so if the rachel tried to 2C on reaction to your attack, they get caught by the overhead. like so : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4Xm7AZpTBo#t=35m You can evade george by just jumping around and placing steins, as soon as rachel gets hit he disappears. If you really want to kill him, j.2C kills him in one hit, but use it closest possible to the ground and only if you're very far from rachel, else it's a free punish. A good place for DP is after a blocked 3C with wind. It's + on block so the rachel player often goes for mixup, just don't do it all the time or you'll get baited obviously. Her overhead is also really slow so you can DP that if you think it's coming or can react fast enough. 5A is a pretty good anti air when rachel jump cancels a blocked normal to try to reset pressure because it also recovers fast in case the rachel jumped out to summon something. If you're far from rachel and see her summon something, you're better off building a laser fortress, don't go in, if you can't guarantee your hit, because if it's a pumpkin you'll eat a CH, if it's george block+activation just makes it a bad idea to try to start pressure or something. Rachel's 6B will usually beat your 5C in poking, because it has a faster startup and smaller hurtbox that doesn't extend as far. However, I think the reward for Mu is better than rachel, so it's not like it's a bad idea to use 5C to poke, just try not to get predictable, and know what you're going to cancel into on block or on hit, in the sense that you have to keep an eye on george if he's out. Also, after a burst, running up to rachel is a terrible idea, because she'll have enough time to summon the pumpkin and activate it in the direction you're coming from so you'll eat a CH every time (unless she's out of wind somehow). But hey I'm not saying I'm an expert, feel free to correct me.
  19. I play this matchup a lot. I think it's in mu's favor, either 5.5-4.5 or 6-4, but I get that it's really frustrating for the rachel player because "braindead" stein placement ruins her usual gameplay. It's really a momentum based match, but Mu has the advantage at neutral... until the pumpkin comes out. Typing out an answer to this turned into a post for our rachel matchup thread, which had barely anything so far
  20. One of our local bangs plays FRKZ, the most effective way I've found to counter it is to corner myself. This way he can't cross you up for mixup and can't make your normals whiff as easily. I try to place a stein or use 236A if he's kinda far from me, if not I'm almost always jumping and trying to get a j.C CH, because it outranges a lot of his options and has a good amount of active frames. I don't mash it though, because it would be too easy for him to catch the recovery. If you get a knockdown, take advantage of it because chances are he'll be low on meter and he'll have to use barrier block which gives you even more frame advantage, use frame traps in case he thinks he's superman. It's funny though I'm like running away from him until I get myself in the corner XD, because once you start blocking it's over (or almost). Use your counter assault wisely, because he can bait it really easily, and Gold Burst is a good option as well.
  21. you could go with brice, kaeru, and kr3w maybe?
  22. At least we won't have the problem of "oh this console doesn't have CS2", "dang you didn't get the DLC", "we have a PS3 but, it doesn't have CS2", or "it sucks that we can't use the consoles at foonzo because they don't have the patch". As an explanation for Bibi's website currently, check this out :
  23. I could lend you brice's, he should be COOL WITH THAT. I'm at foonzo btw, I played with the french guy for a while, he's still there, but I really need to finish my assignment. -_-
  24. In theory I should be able to show up pretty early at foonzo today. I might leave early though, I don't have too much sleep and I'm feeling kind of sick. I also have to get up pretty early on friday
  25. I usually stick to the default. But when I feel like being fancy, I take #2. I really like almost all of them though, except the ones that make her skin weird. I'm just too lazy to always go and pick the same one if it's not already binded to a button.
