I'm not sayin that using it is gonna make the character go up to A tier. All I'm saying is if the opponent's just downbacking barrier yolo command grab can work. Hard reads mean that you have to know what the opponent's gonna do, but turned around that just means if you know exactly what the opponent is going to do go for it. If you know that they're gonna mash, backdash, chicken block, or what have you, then find a way to give em' hell for doing that too. Ya know, if you can.

There's tech out there that extends its reach I believe. 960 damage and 2 stocks and oki is nothing to sneeze, at especially off an unblockable.
-
But if you're psychic and a scumbag, then you're already better suited to playing Haku. If that's the requirement, you might as well get payed for it. Yeah,Relius spoils me with j.C 3C 5B and Ignis. Even without Ignis, once I'm in range I can keep easy pressure by putting 3C j.C and microdash in heavy rotation. I kinda feel like without Jump cancel on 3C Solo Rel is basically gonna be Tsubaki.

If they don't fear your tools you gotta work hard to make them. If I see someone down-backing and barriering in my god dang pressure thinking they got the right to live, I'll unblockable them midscreen until they move mash or die IDGAF. Point is, you're aware of a certain situation that isn't profitable to you, and now you gotta make the opponent think twice about putting you in that situation.

Tsubaki also has a command grab this time around. That'll get you through a Barrier pretty fast. Once they learn to fear that they'll usually respond in mash or chicken block, both of which can be exploited to torture the enemy if you know your frame traps and your blockstrings against chicken blocking opponents. I think Barrier does need to be changed honestly. For how it is it's really really plentiful and even if you get an opponent in Danger state, the effect doesn't last nearly long enough to make much use of it (Unless you're Litchi, god love her.) I've been playing this game a ton and I've only ever been put in danger state once, by an Amane no less. I'd say make CT deal more barrier damage and Make Danger last longer, or even better, make danger state only begin to heal once you land a hit on the opponent or somethin' like that. The scarcity and penalty need to better match its great utility I feel.

So his status effect gameplay all hinges on an awakening super? I feel like if you're getting put in awakening then the opponent will be pretty close to death too, especially with the super you just landed on them (Which if it wasn't used as a DP, was probably in a pretty damaging combo itself) So maybe Mandala is some kinda comeback move for those times you're close to getting perfected. Is it true that there will be no shadow Adachi? Because if there was, being able to use awakening supers from the onset would make him more than scary enough despite the damage nerf. I could see some pretty vicious Shadow Rave combos too.

When I notice my opponent barriering I tend to do a lot more stupid stuff with impunity. The fact that Relius' 5B is a god normal unto itself the pushback from Barrier makes it all but unpunishable. Often times I'll do stuff like 5B>5D>665B>5D>665B>5D>repeat. The 5D scares my opponent into thinking I'll use an ignis special or something, so it just goes on and on. The reality is they keep putting me in the perfect range to poke them over and over and pretty much anything they attempt at that range can easily be beaten or baited. Rel can also adjust the timing of 6D and his follow-up from 6D and/or j.C in his blockstrings to take advantage of that extra frame of blockstun and negate the pushback. All that serves to make barrier easy to deal with wen using Rel. I wonder if other characters have barrier exploits.

Interesting science fact: after Maziolazor the opponent is paralyzed and has Red static charge around them. After that command grab, it turns purple. Also when he took the 3.7K he was poisoned, so factor that into your calculations, and it gives Adachi a more likely 9~10K health.

I like 214D as it is really. It's my only tool to get Kagura to stop chargin his DP half a screen away. Even if that's its only use, it's still needed.
-
So on moves that vacuum like Kagura's orbs or Rel's 2D/6A does instant block reduce the vacuum effect? Does Instant barrier increase it?
-
IKR? She's my back-up should crap really hit the fan in CPII and Rel gets hit by the nerf truck and needs a guard-cat. It simply won't do to have his guard-cat in a full body cast too! I need her to be good! Maybe they'll buff her palettes in CPII though. I hope so because then it will have all been worth it.

I count Curse mode as 50~75 meter when it's full. In a way he's kinda like terumi who can throw out obscene damage when the foe is letting him get away with too much in his neutral and pressure and he also lets him get a hit.
-
Well some nerfs make sense when you're adding a buff that would make them broken should things stay how they are. For instance, say we give Makoto the ability to follow up lvl3 5D and lvl3 j.D with a dash cancel and 2B, you would have to make lvl 3 5D or j.D harder to combo into or else Makoto would get screen carry from any hit. However if all Mak's nerfs outweighed her buffs that would be nonsensical. A character can only be so bad.

So when is the next Loke anyway?

Blah blah blah it's loketest info. not really worth discussing. Myoro is a bad person. etc, etc. So what do you all think with the direction they're thinking of taking Tao in? I'm guessing 2C will fatal on normal hit now, or not at all given that change. 6C>236C already combos, so I can only assume they meant, it combos midscreen or that it DOESN'T combo. If it's the former, that is exiting news because that would mean we could do 5C>j.B(1)>j.A>j.C>6A>6C>236C>Stuff on standing and get paid for standing confirms. The dissappearence of 5[C] was likely meant to prevent any 5[C]>6C>236C ez confirms, although slowing down 2C, which they did, would likely accomplish that too. 22C doing knockdown is very weird to me, I suppose it can be used as a supplement for 236C or 5D when combos are too prorated. j.8D going higher seems like a possible nerf to j.8B mix-ups but could a higher j.8D be useful? I'd like to see 2B being used as a counter to Haku's max range 4C and attacks with similar hitboxes. I wonder if you'll be able to go under a neutral teching opponent with it.

@mAc: I get the feeling that CT was a lot more broken than it looks at a glance. I came in at Extend so I was spared the horror. Whenever I ask about CT I just get this look and nothing else.

That seems kinda backwords. For meter we get a DP that looses invuln on frame one and the opponent has the option to cancel normals into barrier if they're still in their start-up, but meterless DPs have none of those problems and are generally unreactably fast... It's a confusing thing.
-
I mean stuff like a full charged haku 6C that'll take more than a 6th of out health when we're trying to reversal. Now I suppose I should block and punish like a decent human being, but.... it's a DP~~~~
-
Why does our DP trade with stuff? That seems wrong to me.

Oh another thing. After 236C>Rapid>Dash, keep dashing until the opponent is right about to hit the ground then 5B. makes the rest of it easier, and also helps with screen carry n' things.
-
nothin special there. Remember, even if it's from max height/distance 2C, a last second delay between 2C to 6C and 6C to 41236B will get you your desired result. Hitting on the last frame of each moves hitstun guarantees a successful combo. You can emit 5B, but it worsens the combo's utility dramatically. If you emit 5B lose a bit of damage and you can only confirm from closer 3C. I highly suggest doing the 5B route!

Yeah for style's sake. My friend brags over Terumi's "63214A>Taunt>ODstuff>Astral" combos so I need to respond with "Tao combo with as many taunts as possible>Astral." and then turn to him and say "Feel bad." Her P2 on Taunt actually makes this easier, as I'll be less likely to kill him before the astral.
-
I doubt ether of those options would be profitable too seeing as 6D would push them pretty far, 2D is super expensive, and the rest are nowhere near safe options. It's pretty much a combo tool if that change sticks.
