I scold people when they get guard broken by Tager. All of our guard break moves are unsafe except spark. They can also barrier a few times to save the last primer, so to have a guaranteed guard break you need them to have barriered at least a moderate amount, be very low on primer and be next to you with plenty of meter. Preferably post burst so they don't just burst after the break. Or they could have bursted twice I guess. I'd say there are still several characters better at guard breaking than Tager. It happens as a matter of course sometimes, but it's not in itself a viable strategy, since it relies on the opponent making misjudgments. Someone trying to go for a guard break has to take risks or spend resources, and the way to heal back primers is to play against Tager's weaknesses.
-
Because it would be Hilariously easy for Lambda to guard break us all day if we didn't have a lot of primers.
-
Tager does alright in the states because the BB level is america is low even for a fighting game. That said, you can't really call him good even in america after EVO, imo. Was Kouji the one who lost to a Jin player?
-
Not really, Tager has made it to SBO before. It's not really news. Also someone said a while back that Tager was supposed to have good defense because of his primers? That's not true. Having a lot of primers doesn't correlate at all to having good defense.
-
What? There are a few ways she could have escaped it, she had enough time to have a full barrier out during the flash so it looks to me like she had enough options at her disposal with the clash and the meter to get out of that.
-
Balanced? No. Aside from all the reasons why it's a silly idea it would only improve a small number of match ups, and even then not by as much as you would think. Very few matches end in time out and the character who was most capable of this against Tager (Hazama) does a Lot of damage. Tager also doesn't have the greatest defensive options either, so he couldn't really apply it intentionally as a strategy in most cases. It's not really impossible to rush down Tager either.

If you recall anything he said in his previous arguments with me, then you would see that he has no idea.

This thread is getting lame again, has there been any news on how the 5D 5C stuff was happening? Typo, wall bound, wall bounce, voodoo?
-
By not correct I meant that you didn't explain to him what was happening. There was clearly a misunderstanding regarding the way the system handles purple throws and just given your explaination it is perfectly legitimate for him the reach the conclusion it must be Impossible to purple throw off of gadget finger. So by extension the correct answer is to explain the misunderstanding. You aren't wrong, you just weren't solving his problem necessarily either. EDIT: Just to be sure, I didn't really mean anything by it. I was just using it to signal I was building upon your answer.

I admittedly do have messed up hands, but I'm incapable of purpling a 360B (6 frame start up) off a normal blocked 5A (+2), but am capable of purpling it off a Barrier blocked 5A(+1). So I'm guessing 5 frames then? maybe? That's the basis of my assumption. Can someone one up me here?
-
The correct explanation is that there is protection against tick throws. People get a window after they recover where they still get purple thrown so there are purple throw opportunities that can be jumped. I forget the actual length of it, or whether it varies under certain conditions, but in the only example that comes to my mind, it is about 4 frames. Is that right guys?
-
5A walk 5B, even assuming +4, wouldn't catch a jump except MAYBE from Tager and no speed nerf to 5B, which I think is generous. Given at least 1 frame of walking gives the opponent at least 7 frames which is plenty of time to clear jump start up and 5B's anti air hitbox is more than a little comical. 5A needs a proration buff before I could possibly care about it being an new antijump option.
-
5A >5B wouldn't At Least +4 but at Most +4 because no one is giving Tager a level 3 5A because that would be retarded. So keep that in mind when I share my opinion on 5A +2 (assuming no recovery increases, which I think is charitable) plus 2 = 4 Tops. This also screws with his low/throw like I described earlier and adds Very little to tager's gameplay on it's own. 5A 3C would very slightly increase combo damage off of a 5A if you hit confirm it off the 5A, which I guess wouldn't be too hard with a level increase, but be sure you have it because 3C isn't something to use in a block string unless you're gonna rapid. I don't know how the IB stuff theory fights out because it becomes 10 frames of start up and 10 frames of blockstun, so they could reversal right? I forget how that stuff adds up sometimes. In the end I rather have a straight forward low/throw mix up than than link 5A's to catch jumps into 1.7k and same old same old. (Also axis did you mean 5A 5B? Who does 5A 2B?) And I repeat it would Not let us combo off of a normal air hit. Level 1 and level 2 have the same air untechable time. So guys, like I've been saying please please, don't make more out of something than it is. This is why noobs think we're awesome and everyone thinks I hate tager and am really bitter.

J.D J.2C does more damage and builds more heat, but doesn't put them in the corner the same exact way, still very strong in most cases.
-
I highly doubt they aren't adding Any recovery to the move. +4 is pretty high for a 5A and it would also make tick throws less noob friendly, which I assume was part of their reasoning in removing 5A's ability to be canceled into 360. If 5A is plus a lot, then our mix up becomes very weird. I don't like having to mix up within my mix up so they don't option select the whole thing. 5A 5B chain would be tight on normal block, but unless you delay the 5B, they can block low and then jump because it would have a sizable gap between when the 5B and the throw is possible. EDIT: basket sledge is a lame name for that, seeing as it in no way resembled basketball and was similarly unrelated to dribbling, which is not itself basketball. The B connection was also lame and a stretch since it was Asledges and hinged on a connection that didn't pan out. I award no points for that name.
-
This does not explain what belgian beer has to do with basket sledge, or why anyone would use the words basketsledge, and it does not explain why someone would drink tears, or imply it as some sort of comical association. I'm kinda getting close to assuming that everyone mistakenly believes that they are hilarious.
-
I rather have a level 0 5A than a level 2. And unless it's level 3 which would be stupid, you wouldn't be able to do 5A 5C on normal air hit. The buff would only make 5A 3C combo, and 5A 5B safer and tick throws less effective.
-
I no longer have any idea what anyone is talking about.

There's no such thing as an inescapable trap, it's not even right to call anything Tager does a trap. It's either a mix up or a gimmick in my opinion. My Guess? It's a mix up, collider if they side tech and Gadget if they don't. Oh and it's not horribly unsafe to let it go if you see a side tech, and I don't think there is enough time to 5A before you get plucked out of the air. The advantage of using gadget instead of 360B, as I understand it is that Jin can DP to cancel his landing recovery to beat a 360B and maybe mash A like you suggested. But I'm basing that on pretty fallible personal experience, anyone want to test it for me?

Oh wow, Airk just lost 10 points. He was doing so well too, talking about that misguided tager bashing. So is this thread's discussion pretty much done? Several projects aimed at producing content seem to be in the works and it's plausible one or two might make it on the SRK front page often. Most people have agreed to disagree over how much we're likely to get out of it too.
-
That makes sense. In that case, I heartily endorse this product or service.
-
At what distances and on which characters is Asledge 2A 2C plausible?
-
In blazblue it is called heat. I said in my first post that it was less heat, damage and proration.
-
I'm really confident that the second collider would whiff because the 2C would push them too high, I'm also not very confident that Elbow would work since Bsledge is faster (though I do remember Someone saying something about weird situations where elbow works and bsledge doesn't? Does J.C reduce air time?) I just know that unless the game does rounding differently from me, which is totally plausible, if you add the 2C it has the same proration bracket 360B 2B 623Cx2 6B 623C does, which allows for 4D 22D and maybe spark? I never spark there, but I don't suppose you couldn't.
