I agree completely. I am thinking she'll be pretty different. Her "new drive" is a large change if it is, in fact, a new drive. I thought we were done with the swapping between them as well. I'd be very happy to have her if she's packing a new drive mechanic. I'll end up subbing her regardless, but I'd like a different type of sword summoner. All we can do at this point is wait and see...and hope for the best. I think she deserves more than just being a Nu variation.

I was always under the assumption that they removed Lambda due to story progression and replaced her with Nu. However, they made all of these changes to the original Nu and offered a new moveset when turning her into Lambda and figured they would return those moves to the new Nu so that players who enjoyed it would still have access to those moves. Lambda was more "rushdown" oriented than Nu though, so they tried to integrate both styles and characters into one to SAVE from having two extremely similar characters in the roster. So I guess "Obsolete" is kind of an odd way to put it as Lambda was removed entirely. The only way to play her would be Extend and yes, that would be and obsolete version. I really like the idea of a rushdown type Lambda. She would require a new sprite though. The halo does well for different Nu forms, but it'll be hell on everyone if they have the same exact sprite with nothing but color differentiation to help.

You feel that Lambda (luna mode) is obsolete? Why is that? Also, what problems do you feel were created by their integration? Edit: I don't mean to sound defensive. To each his own. I am simply curious about reasoning.

The...3?..of us divided! However, I'm surprised that Lambda is so popular. I guess It may just be me that is the outlier here. I definitely enjoyed her, but I've just loved this version so much.

Ok. I could see it feeling restricted in the beginning. It takes getting used to the switches and cancels to really feel the freedom.
-
I'm with you. Them stating that her drive is different gives me some hope, but I'll put it in the back of my mind and just assume to have a sub in a year or so. I would so love for that sub to have some different tricks to play with.
-
Wait...restricted moveset? They damn near doubled her abilities. I felt it gave her a vast number of options to facilitate many situations. The restriction of the distortion drives is the only restriction coming to mind, really.

Sure. I'll jump in on this. PSN: lBloodWolFl Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

I agree. I like the arrogant, conniving old puppet master thing he's got going on. He's looking to dominate everyone...for science.

I think it's the wind pushing her shoulder "flaps" up in the picture posted. It gives a shoulder-pad type look to her at first glance. Paired with her neck..piece..thing and her expression, she kind of has a soldierish vibe to me.
-
We haven't seen her in-game sprite or anything, have we? She could have been completely remade. The picture earlier shows her losing her visor and in a perhaps bulkier suit. It's too early for us to make the assumptions, I think. IF she is a remodel and rehash of Nu, I'm sad and insulted, but after having time to think about it, if they do it right, I always wanted a sub.

Harsh Mac...just harsh..where's the love?

Or swords with acceleration to them. She can start them at different trajectories and be free to approach with them? Idk. I just hope she has a completely new skillset.
-
Just give that to Nu.....please.

I have mixed feelings about the Lambda thing. I'll pick her up as a sub, but to me, the stance switch mechanic for Nu opened her up to many possibilities and freedoms that Lambda didn't have. If they give Lambda an entirely new drive and not make her a Ken to Nu's Ryu, I'll be interested. I'm torn though and wish they would have gone with someone else. I see quite a few people complain about the new Nu, but can anyone give me their reasons behind it? She's more complicated, but that makes her so much more versatile. Is it the complexity that pushes you away? Edit: I see the soldier look stated earlier. I think if they gave her a whole new look and different mechanics to fit, that would make it very interesting.

GGs to those I played last night. I was playing my hour 1 bullet and things weren't going so well. I feel bad for losing time with Nu, so I'm looking for some good matches tonight. I hope the connection works out.

I would, but I don't have my lagless monitor that close to my bed and I'm not playing on my 52 inch. That and I use a stick...I gave up the leisurely playability..and I miss it.

Probably a mix of both. I know it was the first time one of them had tequila, so that went downhill relatively fast. I'm not a huge drinker myself, so I just grabbed a 12 pack from a local Walgreens and enjoyed the show. I can see some getting anxious in large tournaments, but when I start getting nervous, I just stop and remember that I'm in Las Vegas (or wherever) playing fucking video games with great players OFFLINE and that's why I go.

Half the people I went with in 2012 spent Friday night drinking and vomiting and ended up sleeping through their pools on Saturday. One of them ended up in the hospital after passing out at the blackjack table at 5 am. Fucking EVO.

Well, if nothing else, he's got dedication.

I don't think she's significantly more common over there, I'd have to pull up a character poll to confirm though. I think you most likely know the names of certain ones due to watching a lot of matches. We don't upload as many matches as they(Jourdal) do and aren't as active tournament-wse. We have decent players, but they're spread out. You won't see them popping up on all of the tournament streams because of the distance factor. Their population density makes it a bit easier for the good players to be recognized. That's my thought anyway.

GGs Grimsley.

GGs to Necro. Sorry I had to run. My phone started vibrating like crazy a few matches in. I procrastinated as long as I could. Well played.

You can have mine.

That's one of the reasons. I've read somewhere that the cost of psn also falls onto those who put their games up on it to be sold, where as the XBL Marketplace was much cheaper to developers to sell their products due to the monthly subscription helping to maintain it. I'm not sure where I read that though, so don't quote me on it.
