  1. I think it's pretty much the hardest thing to get down with Hakumen when you're doing his combos... the other ones are relatively easy. You have to do the falling j.C after 623AA at JUST the right time as he falls. If you do it too early, he techs out when you try 2C, if you do it too late, they tech out before j.C hits. I find the right time to be around just when Hakumen starts to fall, or when his knees begin to bend. For the rest of it, you pretty much want to keep the execution as tight as you can, any gaps and they can tech.
  2. That Nu eating Ragna picture is amazing.
  3. "A smart opponent will wise up and realize you aren't controling in front and above you, and take the opportunity to air dash in. That is when you hit them with a 4D and do a combo." Shouldn't that be 6D?
  4. Jin the Bloodedge.
  5. I really should use barrier. I think part of it might be that I'm used to doing move A to beat your move B, but now you use move C from playing around in CS so my move A gets punished. That and I seem to just be having the week from hell in BlazBlue. The more I play, the worse I'm getting. :P EACH DAY IS A NEW LOW. This all started when I got used to that stick, I knew this would happen. :P Pretty soon I'm going to start deranking and end up level 1, my story modes will reset to 0% and it'll act like it's Day 1 BlazBlue.

  6. "Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang, oh baaaaaaang..."
  7. Why would a Hakumen player let you just do that though? If I'm safe in my bubble and Arakune just comes over then it's rape time.
  8. Hey, are you sure that combo works? I set it to CH and I can't get 2B to link to gurren.

  9. lol, I DID mean it as an anti air, everyone is just getting confused. :P Looking back, I didn't specify but I only do 6A for anti-airs usually. But this is all helpful nonetheless. Something that's been bugging me: for some reason, I can do the j.C loop in the corner, but I can NEVER get the last j.C in. Normally it's supposed to go: 5C > 623AA > falling j.C > 2C > j.2C > j.2C > IAD > j.2C > j.2C > falling j.C By the time I'm on the last j.2C in that sequence, I'm too far away for falling j.C to hit, and sometimes even for a third j.2C. So I usually drop the 2 j.2Cs and falling j.C after IAD and just make it j.2C > falling j.C. It just seemed weird since it looks like most other people can do it... OH! One more thing. I was watching JackG's videos a while back in that 3v3 thread, and he does something that I thought was really neat. Against Nu, he IADs in after her, but he passes over her and manages to do j.C, but instead of it missing since Hakumen is past her already and facing the wrong way, he TURNS AROUND and hits her from behind for a sort of crossup. I keep trying this in training mode, but he always just stays facing the direction I IAD'd. Any ideas on the timing? I can do it -sometimes- if I IAD up pretty high and give myself plenty of time to fall, but that isn't as useful, and I saw JackG doing it pretty low to the ground. EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Z7DLX2wH4&feature=related#t=1m55s Here's an example, although there's more. Watch from that to the end of the round.
  10. I have some retooling to do... Lambda Tendril plays different. ;o

  11. Ah I see, so it's like the hop 5B combos we were talking about in the combo thread. It looks hard to time though... stupid hop 5B.

  12. I thought OTG meant off the ground, as in a combo starting from when they're downed. I usually do 3C > 6B > gurren > 6C for OTG. I usually do 6A > 5C > gurren > 6C, but I want to get into the habit of doing the j.C loop off it instead.
  13. Ah, cool. My hometown is the KOP area. I'm in Virginia now in my apartment since that's where I got my job, but I still come home and visit pretty frequently. I was just wondering how many PA folks are close by...

  14. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~ Well, at least you found out now instead of like, six months later when you were more attached. :P I have this weird idea of setting up a room and inviting you, Pisces, Arcade, Spider King and someone else and then running this huge Nu gauntlet. :P

  15. I've tried to do it off grab > gurren, and the timing is super super tight, I can't do it more than 2/10 times. I'm not sure if after that you can go into j.2C or anything... Hop 5A, better than using 2C > j.2C > IAD j.C?
  16. If you mean getting sweeped out of 4B, it's actually low invulnerable, I think, since I've tried to sweep you a lot only to have her twirl above my sword.
  17. What, how did I miss this. Oh, okay. Yeah, I was watching it and noticed there were a few times where he jumped in, and I didn't try to hit him, which I thought was weird. I think I'm so busy mindgaming in those matches that sometimes I forget to do things. That and he doesn't jump high all the time, so I didn't have time to 2C... but I can 6A it. What I'm afraid of, is 2C or 6A'ing him when he's real close, basically guaranteeing he'll land right next to me, then getting 720'd or 360'd from the blockstun of the move I gave him. So usually I try to use those only if I'm at the furthest range, otherwise I try to move back far enough to reach that range.
  18. HAKU BROS GOTTA STICK TOGETHER Yeah, I figured that was the best stuff, since I was already doing stuff I thought was good... and I already can get right on top of them with my dashing and good IAD. That's not really the problem anyway, more like not getting faked out, which can be fixed with experience. I'm gonna try falling j.C a few time to see how it is though. Oh, also 6B works too. And I meant 6A as a CH, if you get a CH with it you can hit with 5C and go into a normal combo. I didn't even know you could combo 6A OTG O_o
  19. Speaking of that... are there any good combos that give Hakumen good positioning on his opponent? Say I get a 6A or a 5C off on someone, normally I'd do 623AA > j.C loop, but that usually knocks them away from me, unless I'm in the corner. I would be willing to sacrifice some damage if I could be right on top of them on wakeup so they don't get to reset their position. I think that might be helpful against someone like Nu... Or is the best option to just go with the normal j.C stuff and try to herd them into the corner?
  20. You live in PA? Sweet. Me too. What area?

  21. I call it suicide. :P lolol, I wasn't trying to rush down Axis. LOLWUT was going on at the beginning of that match against BlueGarbage? Good stuff against nonetheless. I noticed some things I can try myself... I also noticed you did 2C > j.2C > IAD j.C, instead of IAD j.2C, how come?
  22. Did you say earlier that I was the only Hakumen that went after opponents after they got downed? Or the one that didn't? I'm trying to figure out if there's a reason for the difference... maybe they have some advantage doing that. Also how did THE MISSION go? :eng101:

  23. Damn. Is there any reason to use 5D then, since you can't combo off it, when you can use 2D or 6D? *rages*
  24. What's "true" oki? As opposed to just oki.
  25. Wow, Jin really got knocked down the list. I didn't think the small changes they made to him would make that big a difference. Still, he's got decent matchups.
