Because 5CC whiffs when Makoto hits with 5B from far away. The only move it will combo into is 6C when that happens. There are much better follow-ups in the corner though (5B > 6C > 214B > jB > JC > jD > whatever corner juggle)

If you're a casual player and only want to play against friends or online against good players then the parry loop isn't needed at all, but if you want to play at a tournament level then you need to learn it 100%. It dramatically improves here midscreen combos and opens up more options for resets.

if you could play him in CT then you can play him in CS. The new things he has require practice but aren't necessarily harder, especially if you focus more on ground resets.

BB is my first serious fighter and I chose to main Carl. It just takes a ton of effort to build up one's basic knowledge of fighters on top of wrapping your mind around his weird playstyle. also, holy crap Carl's grab combos do insane damage. I've got volante combos down pat thanks to yall's advice and hitting 5k off a throw is easy now :D

First and foremost it's an anime convention, not a fighting game convention, my second place prize was a shitty t-shirt that I still have never worn lol. It's not about making money, it's about showing off and having a lot of fun as a distraction from the rest of the con. I don't care much for anime, I go for videogaming and friends every year. I'll be watching the AMV awards with my bf this year too, sometimes they're pretty good.
