Yeah, but you don't play bang's matchups, I do. Professionally. You weren't playing Satoshi, so you don't understand what happened like I do. Please don't speak to me like that. If you want to make claims about other characters, it can't be so grand as "everything everyone who plays Bang has determined is incorrect", it has to be things like "Hazama's pressure is strong and autopilot"

[CS1-CSE] Road to Ikaruga - The Bang Social thread - Do you even 3c?

Bang is the kind of character that is only as good as the player playing him's fundamental prowess and defense. -
This post is kind of comical, because you say you disagree with what I say and then completely agree. Getting more hits when your character is not only less capable of getting the hits, but simultaneously defensively outclassed is very hard, Dusty. I know you realize that, apply the knowledge. The one thing Bang has better than any other character is approach, and his mobility is also very good. Without strong grounded pokes to supplement it though, he has to really bank on Anail poison dash, which isn't foolproof. Anyway, he sucks, but not as bad as most low tier characters, so it's fine.

I think the most important info between Etrium and GameCenter is just: Locational convenience for those participating, both work as both are close to large airports Internet? Both apparently yes, but Etrium has proven in multiple tournaments already to have great internet Space? Both yes Cost efficiency? TBA Support? Both seem strong, Etrium historically giving some free drinks and willing to help, Gamecenter probably a bit more technical Importance of our support? Both could use it, as far as I can tell. They are both very helpful to the community. Either way should be good, so it's probably not something to stress about largely.

It's a great title, even if it's a bit misleading PS Good guide

It's difficult to beat people who are equally skilled or have more time to practice when your character loses to the top 5 or 6 convincingly, yes.

If I can personally say, I see myself as upper mid or low high (On a scale of low mid high top) japan, with many other players being better than myself in places like Washington, probably still Texas as well, and I certainly see LK and probably Zidane as better as well. I still have a long way to go, without much time to improve, so it's difficult.

Yeah. 100% agreed. -
I don't agree that he doesn't have matchups that bad. Earlier JP tier lists and matchup charts for every game sugar coat it, later lists are more honest. However, Bang may develop further. He has hidden stuff that could bring it to really just 4-6. We can hazmatch, sure :] That means there's TWO ways I can make money off you with Haz at evo now

Bang will always be my main, but it doesn't hurt to have a sub as broken as Hazama
-
Yeah.. if every single hit didn't hit so hard and put you in the corner, Makoto's oki isn't unreasonable. It's just things like the jB jB DP relaunch that gives her more mid screen combo-ability that make her a bit 'nuts'

That's inspiring. I wish I was good enough to win like that, against such hard match-ups. :/ -
Don't worry, my Hazama is only at 25%. I spent 13 hours learning him, and went 1 round to 2 in a single match against Willy, not even a full set. Then I blew him up in a 65-35 matchup with Bang.

YET. Shoutouts to everyone, sorry I can't give really detailed shoutouts but my highlights; -Successful Tager counterpick -Losing to good players because I haven't been able to spend as much time on the game (I'll be out for your blood if I get my hands on an arcade stick) -Getting exposed by Willy's Haz, but completing far more real combos than him after 13 hours of play, and surprisingly actually being able to use Haz with mild decency even against good players which was better than I was expecting to do this soon -Bringing my first Blazblue opponent ever, Corimon, over from Genesis, only for her not to enter -Cr0sell spitting mad game

Bang easy to block? pressure and mix up are like the one thing other than a free approach that this character has going for him, it's just not super safe and broken like it was in CS1, and unfortunately it isn't endless like the top tier characters in this game. Just be willing to use your nails, and try to reset to 6A or stagger empty 5A d5A's while using frame traps to make people scared to push buttons and reset your pressure. Bang's pressure is certainly not autopilot anymore, so you need to really think about what your opponent is doing and how to condition them into doing what you want. I have never once, regardless of my opponent's skill level, had difficulty opening people up with Bang.

Yes, Mac. That is -really- curious. O_o I didn't even notice that.

Hmm.. Let me try again. I was saying "Being constantly negative is their choice" is comparable to "Choosing to hit someone over the head with a hammer is their choice". Personally, I feel adversely affected by either action and would prefer not to be, so I would want to argue that it isn't as easy as "it's their choice". Continuous negative interaction can be stressful or lead other people to depression, which is something I personally want to avoid (And I imagine others do too) So normally, I would avoid interacting with a person who is being constantly negative and accept that I won't change their mind; but in this case, most new Tager players come here, and are introduced to this environment where there is both false and negative information. So I guess in the end I can understand what you're saying, because the negativity, given a rational correct context (Like "Hazama is an incredibly difficult matchup for Tager, so many things are stacked in his favor and it's difficult to even know how to win") is honest, and can spur intelligent directions of conversation afterwards. It's really just the false information, which I still believe is brought on by a pessimistic thought process that seems to encompass this board, ultimately leading to ill-thought out statements like "Tager's normals suck" Does that describe my view a little better?

I think the only character specific part there is 5D OTG, and that works on Tager, Rachel and Arakune.

I wouldn't recommend Asledging the Dnails, it just gives him free mix up. Their blockstun is so low that if you jump and IB it, you're in literally 0 frames of blockstun, which is generally a much better "call out", since he has no guaranteed options and he just spent 3 valuable nails. Spark bolt at neutral is pretty bad against Bang in general, I would save it for combo filler or use it as a very strong read frame trap, after something like 5C if you expect a jump out (Just be wary of guard points; if you're smart on your conditioning this works) You will not be able to sneak in your own throws against his command grab, except for 720, because a wise Bang will always cover it with enough blockstun to make timing your throw a "just-frame" punish; rather, you just have Tager's normal advantage of having a 6 frame grab compared to "you must be 7 frames out of blockstun to not get purple thrown", inherently making grabbing tager risky. But don't just mash throw, it's very very easy to set up frame traps with Bang, so be careful. Be willing to use your reversals, magna tech is very good in this matchup. Recognize Bang has no true anti air except Ashura, so if he has no meter it's very gimmicky for him to anti-air Tager's godlike normals, usually can only be done with well placed 2D's to beat a super jump or smart 5A's or jump normals. Bumpers make this match harder, don't overcommit to anti airing his dashes, things that cover multiple options like jump back grab (covering forward bumper dash, maintaining neutral against all others) are useful. This match is relatively even.

I want to see money matches from everyone that called this guy out, hahaha

I said I beat the best Hazama in America. ... You know, WhiteboyWilly.
