I need help with carl bad. I love him but I can't seem to do most of his combos in challange mode.Right now the main problem I'm haveing is doing jump cancls on my stick into jB to jC. Also looking for a Carl teacher(Or just friends for xbl in genral). If you want to help me send me a frend requsits

Im not sure if this helps but during score attack once u get to Haku-Men just use nirvana as a shield. Her attacks dont register to Haku-Men so he dont bother blocking. I spammed volante & 8D to keep him away. & if he do catch u BURST asap...... Cause every time he caught me i got hit wit a DD

Also if u got a second controller u can press start & it activates that "Here comes a new challenger" after that it starts u back at whoever u left off at

Quick Question

For the Grab, J.2CAllecan/2D 5C j.2cAllecan Volante j.2C 4D? J.C combo in the video, Whats the timing for the 4D? Immediately after the Volante? Or during the j.2c? I can't get it to land for the life of me.

OBJECTION!!*slams hands on desk* .....already overruled.what akiro said actually.I can't really seem to get that down neither.I tried it after volante then before I knew it I heard "counta!" then at j.2c,I only missed.i think I may be doing it wrong or I'm just way off of practice.

To get the 4D to hit you have to do it after the allecan but before the 5C. Even then 4D still won't hit the opponent until you hit them with a j.B or j.C

Sure, you're having the same problem everyone has when they start using Carl. Just don't neglect Nirvana and eventually using her as well as Carl will be second nature.

I dunno if everyone already knows this or whatever, but Carl's 5C has 85% P1 on counter hit and 100% P1 on normal hit. A strange little detail.

I'm so sorry guys I lied in my post about the j.2c allecan volante combo.

For those who don't already know, it's j.2c allecan volante 5c. You have to do the volante right after j.2c allecan, and you don't have to do the j.2c allecan right before they touch the ground, but at a "not so high distance" off the ground. You'll understand with practice.

I hadn't played in forever, got on yesterday and finally remembered how I used to do it.

Lol, today I almost pulled off a 6500 damage combo on some litchi. On his neutral wake up I did 3C 2D. Unfortunately for him he tried to dp and got hit by 3C.

3c 2d j.2c allecan volante 5c (volante hits) 5c j.b j.c 8d 4c]d[ j.c 44 5c hjc j.b dj.2c anima allegretto....FUUUUUUUUUUU. Lol I raged cause had 8D come out instead and had I IAD j.2c]d[ j.c j.2c 8d allegretto big bang upper I would have won the round and won the game. It would have been a perfect finish to cheer me up after all my loses, and an upload that would have made me look pro to all the other carl mains who happened to stumble upon that vid LOL. Suprisingly the part where I messed up netted me 5260 damage. I hadn't seen so much red in a long time.

Also I have a question.

Let's say you start a combo off 2D. You do j.2C allecan volante 5C...how do you get the j.2C allecan 4C]D[ j.C to connect? I can't seem to and substituted it for 5C j.B j.C 8D 4C]D[ j.C instead? After volante hits I can do j.2C allecan 4C]D[ j.C, but after j.C hits the second hit of 4D whiffs. Can someone plz help

Hahaha, I think I've found my problem. It should be j.B instead of j.C. J.C takes them up a bit too high

you are correct.

As for the volante combo. I actually input the volante after the 5C.

4D has to be done WAY before 5C.

Also, you can input the Volante AFTER 5C, if you get them SUPER FUCKING LOW with j.2C allecan.

It's just really hard, and spacing strict, so I'd still recommend doing it just before 5C.

EDIT: Now that I got the 4D combo down, is there a combo limit to 4D? Meaning when the combo gets closer to X, when will it not combo?

My apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but how do you to the technique that gives you downward momentum after IAD by air-grabbing? Is there a specific input or what?

It has been posted before bit its j.2C-B using the first few frames of his attack to give the momentum. Hope that helps.

ugh im completly just lost with carl is there a specific way i should start to learn him? cause im complety lost and im having the hardest times IAD in his combos from the ground was it this aggrivating to learn to play carl? cause he is my favorite character but it seems like he is impossible to learn D:
