SteelCoil Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 here another records for my cousins matches vs bang = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ7nag7qaa8 vs litchi = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0c8roBItf0&feature=related vs hazama= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQshtLBuHp0&feature=related vs ragna= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1XEt0Np_sc&feature=related is he getting better? Not really TBH. Fighting games in general have a very sharp learning curve so you can't exactly expect overnight improvements. It has to be a learning experience, one that is over a long period of time. Has your cousin ever had any experience with other fighting games before? I jumped into blazblue not knowing anything about fighters and it took like 7 months to get the basics down.
Sophisticat Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 He should focus less on getting good with Haku and more on getting FG basics down. Less mashing, too. It works 'cause it's Haku, but it's otherwise disrecommended. After learning to block, he should learn combos, the use of each move, proper spacing, etc. Then move on to mixups, setups, hop specials, and more refined stuff. But like Steel says, getting proficient in FG's while just starting out can take months. It's long, hard work. You're not going to drastically improve in a couple online matches.

THIS, it's not easy, fighting games are one of the hardest genre's of video games. I really liked the way this hakumen played the tager match up and even used his ib'ing against him in grabs very nice: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10645497 What are the pro inputs on these matches?
Sophisticat Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Some vids with A-92 I found on Nico. Unfortunately, they're also probably all we'll get since these matches date back to May (he may no longer be playing). Anyway, here goes for quite possibly the best current Hakumen player (according to Ryokoalways): http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10776016 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10776294 This one is CT, but A-92's pretty clutch, so his stuff is still relevant in concept. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8558115
Leonil_Requiem Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 yea, these are really old, in fact, sbo quallies. he is the best haku player. but sadly he's not an extraordinary player: Tsujikawa tao level or Goro lambda status. he's really really really good, pulls of nasty shit and a really good hakumen, solid in is situational damage, and i can't think of a better candidate for best haku main, but he couldn't qually in a bracket against keita. not saying keita's bad, but he's 2 steps under Tsujikawa. but o'well, i think back to when Suzume was playing bb, didn't practice once, still bodied people, he could easily say " i want to be BB's God" but he chooses to main GGXXAC and i respect him for that, but he's truly a player who'd exemplify the unlimited resources Hakumen as has disposal at every moment. Damn suzume is a beast, came in second at a major even and didn't practice once. but then again alot of gg vets are, look at shounen, jan, qwerty, all gg originals. but yea, A-92, badass. Suzume, gdlk without trying xD
SimpleKiss Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Reposting this from the BB General Thread. Our very own Skeletal Minion, showing off his skill in BBCS at this week's AWA Grand Finals. I was the one making all the stupid hype commentary. Lol. I had to root against him, since it was my friend playing Litchi AWA Grand Finals in Atlanta, GA ConvoltedStyle AKA The Deadly Dolphin(LI) vs Skeletal Minion(HAK) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaIJ5yJgAJ8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jKPnYVsz1c
BladeOfJustice7 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRq_-qcnYl4 Thought i would share this with you all. Not sure if it was posted or not (didn't feel like going through 21 pages). This is NOT me playing. Though this video is what made me pick up Hakumen in CT. Also: not really sure if this goes here. If not my bad. DON'T post, ct vids of hakumen, unless what you're posting REALLY relates to cs gameplay (sophis for instance).
Mikeomak Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Is anyone with recording capabilities willing to play a few matches with me and post them up here so they can get critiqued?
Tofu Warrior Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 AWA Grand Finals in Atlanta, GA ConvoltedStyle AKA The Deadly Dolphin(LI) vs Skeletal Minion(HAK) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaIJ5yJgAJ8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jKPnYVsz1c Good matches, I think he just needs to learn to hit confirm a bit better off the random hits he's getting. Particularly 2As. Edit: Holy shit, these hype moments are hype, who the fuck am I to criticize lol.
SimpleKiss Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Dumbass videos of me doing 1 dollar money matches with my close friend while we were drinking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP1SPLzhAt0 Critques welcome. Dropping combos like a boss and making wrong combo choices ftw. >_>;
banshee Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 some a-cho haku footage for those of you who haven't seen it yet: batch 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9G1jFf1zgg batch 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lEmCvP_SaQ batch 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JB9E8bOM1s batch 4 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev93klbh_u0 why does he deliberately skip 3C in his BnB corner combo? to punish tech rolls? also nice job blocking his opponent's bursts by going 623AA > jc > j.1C. I always have a smile on my face when that happens in my matches edit: typo

Sophisticat Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Hot damn is that guy good! I'll be studying! It's either Tenchi or 0, I know they both use that color. It strikes me more as Tenchi, though since I don't think 0 ever got *that* good with Haku. It's also not the "regular" A-Cho Haku who plays much more defensively and uses the default color, but who also has a beast Haku whenever he gets going.
mAc Chaos Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 There's a red Haku playing in some of the newer vids posted in the video thread in the general discussion forum. He plays... weird though. Still pretty good. Not sure why he does what he does though.
Used Meathook Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Watching some of these videos is demoralizing. I feel like such a scrub Haku player.
psycofang2 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) i dont. mainly because i do what i want to ppl offline and online. i stay random. if you feel like such a scrub haku player than heres a bit of advice. learn to analyze the opponent. learn how they act. learn to IB not off prediction but off reaction. learn to hit confirm attacks you do on purpose AND the ones that randomly hit. learn to conserve and see openings. block overheads. and well be patient. also dont be predictable, learn the best possible options and what times they can be used. dont try and be another suzume or something. stay you just be smart about what you do. most of this is the opposite of how i play online, i force things to work for me. (dont do this) all i all do be careful. Edited October 28, 2010 by psycofang2
Sophisticat Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Since there was some Haku play in the most recent Valk vid, I cut it out, and here it is, featuring Ara: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22CmSg0CavM Didn't really watch, so no comment from me yet.
Leonil_Requiem Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) That's so cute!!! Tenchi tryed to do the link i told him about ^_^, ironic he dropped it xD (btw that's Tenchi because he's infamous for dropping falling j.2C from any weird hit confirm. Such as batch 2 Gurren exchange.) Edit: OMG Tenchi vs Tao and that Rag vs Tao looks just like I and xDest's fights, i'll see if i can upload some. Edited October 28, 2010 by Leonil_Requiem
Leonil_Requiem Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) j.A > Tsubaki ^_^ it's a cancel really but from his height he would of had to do falling j.2C from super jump height to capitalize. But to be honest i think he was trying to do j.A CH > airdash > j.A > Tsubaki who knows *shurgs* I really like haku-men, but i really hate this game. So I might give out my combos early than expected. In comparison to last game's combo unveiling... Tachyons Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edtpo8slXNI Notice in the VS Tsubaki how the Hakumen uses 6A in corner. Is it a legitimate move to do in corner? It seems like it can cover roll tech and if they neutral tech you have advantage.
Warhound Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 That Hakumen is crazy. All I can say about that. Fully charged 6C at the beginning of the match? Lots of 6A and even a Zantetsu mix-up!
banshee Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edtpo8slXNI Notice in the VS Tsubaki how the Hakumen uses 6A in corner. Is it a legitimate move to do in corner? It seems like it can cover roll tech and if they neutral tech you have advantage. I've seen lots of Japanese players skip 3C in the corner lately and instead go for a better oki. 6A seems to be one of the options, another one is to wait a bit and then do 2B > 214A. 2B catches their rolls and auto-hitconfirms into 214A > combo. This might be the worse option if they neutral tech though, so someone with more experience may give a more detailed answer
