you are terminally ill. sad to say it is hard to cure the disease of being born without a functioning ability to comprehend reason or critically think. well there is one cure, it's called your 5th birthday.

p sure my son who is 4 would understand the concepts in this thread better than most people, if I were to explain it to him.

skill ranges vary when a ton of players are about 2hours and 30minutes away from the nearest arcade with bbcs.

So, yeah. Considering that we don't have a large enough sample size in that level to reliably rely on statistics, the point stands.

its true, and i agree, it totally couldn't be done in the US with Stats...

taokaka would be low tier and tager would be high tier.

if you aren't from nyc/nj or named zong (who is basically ec) you don't have a valid opinion. truth.

I approve of this message. Being from nyc/nj also gives INSTANT shit talking privileges.

That's what you get when you pile a concept very open to concepts and opinions with DL.

Actual miserable little piles of secrets.

.33 matchup chart!

Those numbers in matchup charts don't represent matches though, they represent rounds.

Actually I always wondered how they took into account carry-over resources like bursts or meter in some games.

They probably ignore them.

I came to this thread after reading about it on the Jersey thread. Honestly, I came here to see if there was any trolling I could do to support the cause. I regret my decision. This thread is a trap that trolls you once you read any part of it. I have lost a bit of hope for humanity this day, and the grand total of hope I had was already in the negative. Stay freer than a runaway slave, DL.

In other games the numbers represent the odds that a certain character will win in a matchup.

Here, I'm not too sure anymore.

.5 matchup lists make 0 sense to me, perhaps I am retard but...

A basic match is best of 3, and a basic matchup chart goes by matches i.e 6-4 to denote out of 10 matches one will win 6/10.

If we were to take the matchup chart to go by rounds alone, that would be 30 potential rounds so a 6-4 turns into a 18-12.

6.5-3.5 would then be what 19.5-10.5? Since it is best of 3 there is a possibility for a 2-0 win which fucks the ratio of a 'matchup chart', and you also can't have half a round it just doesn't make sense.

Any way you slice it, a Matchup Chart should be based on matches, and a match is all inclusive of the number of rounds used thus being the best representation. IMO.

EDIT: changed my numbers due to terrible math skills.

Jesus christ, can you people not read a few pages back. .5's are not meant to determine someone can win "half" a match more or less. It's because the theory of the matchup number is of that over 100 matches.

I.E. a 6.5/3.5 matchup means one character wins 65 out of a 100 matches. A bigger sample size is always better for any kind of statistical chart. Thus the .5 numbers ARE MORE ACCURATE.

Is it that fucking hard to figure out?!

Did we not just confirm that these charts are not based on statistics? Also there is no inflammatory notion in my post, so cool your jets.

why are you trying to make DL figure anything out

someone posted about mirror matches being 6-4, that enough should tell you something
