GhostTear Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 This is why i am against a damage nerf (at least at barely 2 weeks after the release), also not that i am against time outs, we cant see the high damage on a vacuum, there are many other factors to take in consideration before whining about the damage being too high (This speaking on the theoretical scenario that they nerf the chain shift) also isn't your gauge suppose to increase your damage output? i see people burn it for meter.
xlolxlolx Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 lol I actually think the dmg is not high enough, fucking game is way too slow because of the way the neutral game is played out
Starlight777 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 lol I actually think the dmg is not high enough, fucking game is way too slow because of the way the neutral game is played out I agree on this. The game's bigger emphasis on spacing and zoning kinda drags things out when the base damage doesn't give a large enough payoff.
Agni Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 lol I actually think the dmg is not high enough, fucking game is way too slow because of the way the neutral game is played out Neutral can be fun too, ya know.
Starlight777 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I kinda like the neutral game here because it's fun to see that everyone can do something besides attempt rushdown and hope for the best.
xlolxlolx Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 neutral game is fun and all but when you get 2-3 rounds that average 60-90 seconds on the game clock it gets pretty tiring imo
Mightfo Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 combos are too long(especially relative to damage) and too much stuff leads to the same knockdown situation without having to worry about choosing between damage and knockdown, so too large of a % of the game is combos or pressure strings carmine looks fucking sick as hell though his projectiles give me 4000000000 boners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNbomaGfX0Q#t=7m13s

xlolxlolx Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 And like i said, not every game needs to play/be similar to others yes....that is obvious.....what im pointing out is whether players find that kind of metagame fun or not.....
Killey Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) Unfortunately, Carmine looks really weak so far but I wonder if it's just people not finding the good stuff yet. It's nice that he can finally break 6k damage now but the amount of resources he needs to spend (including his own health) is a bit much. Other characters can get the same damage output (or more) from stray midscreen hits for less resources. He seems like he has a hard time opening people up as his offensive pressure can just be down backed the majority of the time. You can't really keep up that offensive pressure as well because you have to spend life to keep it going. I guess it's a balancing mechanic since he might be able to control the entire screen and/or put people in perpetual block stun if all of that could be done for free. It looks like he doesn't have a good AA or reversal options since Yuzu could just do jump ins all day in the corner. I don't know...it seems like he's lacking several tools to make him really good or maybe there's more to be explored with the character. Edited October 2, 2012 by Killey
BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Carmine at least builds meter in his combos akin to Hazama, I've yet to see a character to unleash their 200% super so often at the end of their combos. Nothing wrong with health drain, just either buff the damage he gets off of his health/blood attacks or reduce how much health his attacks consume. In a game where everyone does at least 4k at pretty much any given time, losing health when attempting to attack these same characters isn't very good. It's pretty funny how many people thought Gordeau was going to have high damage output, but his is actually low compared to the rest of the cast. Coupled with his pressure problems lol.
Digital Masta Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 So the patch is only going to fix Chain Shift and as a result it will affect GRD as well. How? I don't know. This just according to their twitter.
Elochai Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 We should start a petition to get a US release if this ever comes to console in Japan .
TSHKN Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 yo long Wald combo at the end of GGXXACR vid and why they wanna fix him and C.S. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19020476
Starlight777 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 This game is like the baby of Melty and Marvel now. Basically every character has something that's borderline broken they can do thanks to chain shift.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 it's even more accurate because you can see whose top tier and who isn't by just watching some of the latest high level matches for this game lol.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Keeping in mind Seth has a fairly high learning curve to him, but it looks like he just straight up sucks now. I didn't want to say it because I saw potential in him, but his lack of range and damage output makes him the poor man's Linne. Thought? That Gordeau on Abelcru's channel just now was sick, his use of Grim Reaper on Merkava's mobility was smart, and just used fundamentals to win. I'd like to see more of this Gordeau. Everytime someone is up against Merkava, they're only one random 4b away from losing the match lol, holy fuck.
Starlight777 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I was surprised that one Waldstein made it that far. For some reason I don't enjoy watching Waldstein as much as the other characters.
kirk Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19030925 dat 8.5k 90s long waldstein combo lmfao Edited October 2, 2012 by kirk

For me is only Gordeau or Waldstein, maybe Vatista The others are cool, but i prefer to watch matches with those 3 and the occasional Carmine
