MashThat5A Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Any indication that the middle of the screen will make a return in CS:E, or will we have to wait more? I think it was Stunedge that mentioned this; The tone of the game is still stop mashing midscreen to get 4K please.
Runis Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I know you don't play Noel but this is more a mindset question than specifically a Noel one. I have a combo that has the second hit of Bloom Trigger will blue beat (meaning they can auto tech after the first hit) It leaves Noel either neutral or slight negative. What is your opinion on using such a combo (since if it hits its 5.3k and 67 meter and it is not very char specific and works on multiple chars, I just need to change a few parts around depending on which char I'm against.) as a once off to see what their reaction is (ie are they mashing neutral tech/back tech/forward tech) and after they've seen it once and you've seen if they mash tech etc, would you use it again but this time rapid the BT in order to mix them up? Also what is your opinion on sacrificing 800-1k damage and 5-10 meter for a reset opportunity?
Xx_Hoshi_xX Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Well I don't really know how to scrutinize my play style, but I have a simple question: what does it take to separate yourself from good and advanced? like, I feel that I'm good but sometimes I lose for silly reasons. I have some videos on YT so if you could look at them and tell me that would be great. Besides damage and good spacing, what else do you thing is necessary for a jin player to release himself from that good category and become more advanced?

If you think you're "good" but you're getting blown up by dumb stuff, you may not be adjusting your playstyle to your opponent. Remember - expecting advanced strategies from beginners is just as big a mistake as expecting basic strategies from advanced players. If you're expecting tick grabs and crossups from a player who is doing neither, and getting hit for it, that means you're not reading your opponent's skill level correctly. The primary differences between "good" and "advanced" are adaptability, ability to quickly get a read on the opposition, and, well, mindgames and trickiness.

Thanks, I'll work on that.
André Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 LK, considering that CS2 is reaching its end, can you do a Tier List of the characters in the same model as you did for CS1?
Lord Knight Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 Dude. You HONESTLY think Valkenhayn is S-tier in this game?? In the same tier with Hazama and Makoto? Please explain your logic, b/c right now I'm smh. Way too good neutral, ultra strong pressure, unseeable mixups, great corner carry. Only cons are averagish damage and no reversal, but that doesn't matter when you can't even catch him. He's reminiscent of CS1 Tao as far as strength in neutral. Anyways, the main reason Haz can even be considered S is crazy damage and comeback after he gets 50 meter. LK, considering that CS2 is reaching its end, can you do a Tier List of the characters in the same model as you did for CS1? I guess I could, though it would take a little while. Of course, it'd be my own personal character ranking, rather than Arcadia's.
pochp Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 LK, this is more of a system question. If you're falling in the air and land holding 1AB, having barrier in the air and then on the ground, is there a gap where you aren't blocking? I'm asking because there were times when I was falling while holding 1AB but got hit by Rachel's 6A and Ragna's 2B right when I landed, but I don't think I saw the blue or yellow exclamation marks.
Linear04 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 For 5 frames after landing from a jump, no movement can be done except for forward dash and attack. i know it says movement but maybe it has something to do with guard also?

zeth07 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 LK, when you are learning/practicing combos, do you go really in-depth with the testing of the combos (like against each character and any minor adjustments) and do you try to learn EVERY "known" combo for each situation? Or do you just kinda know the BnBs off each hit / spot on the screen, and from there just wing hit for what you know will work (or think you know will work)? I'm curious because I've been keeping track of Bang's CSE combos, and from what was posted from the jbbs previously and what I've seen in videos so far, I'm at roughly a 6 "page" document. I'm the kind of person that likes to know the combos for each specific situation, or knowing the difference between damage/seals/oki. However, I haven't put the time into the game to be testing each and every combo, on each and every character, as much as I would like to. I did the same thing for CS1/CS2 but kinda ignored all my work and testing once I got most of what I needed to know down. So I guess my question is, how do you approach learning/practicing combos yourself?

So I guess my question is, how do you approach learning/practicing combos yourself? As far as learning a new character, I try to learn their most important combos first. When I picked up Makoto, I learned how to combo off her overhead in the corner before I looked at anything else. I split it into a process: 1) Important combos - usually starts with a certain hit and always leading into the same combo (Litchi near corner 6B[m], Makoto overhead in the corner, that stuff) 2) Combo parts - I try to learn the character's combo parts, so I don't have to waste time with x starter. Rather, I can just split things into great starter (like 100 P1), average starter (say 80 or so) and bad starters (multiple 2a's or something). From there I can simply move into the combo part based on the specifics I've practiced. That's it really. Because I just learn the combo parts it's really easy to learn how to hitconfirm in random situations as long as you know the properties of a move. Usually if I learn a new combo part I do test it on the entire cast,, but I tend to split the characters into groups, for the sake of ease, but these tend to vary per character.
WolfCrimson Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Hey LK What do you think of the system and universal changes in BB:CSEX? Like the universal limit of A strings to 3 5A/2As, counter assaults taking up primers and the subsequent loss of primer removal from many currently primer breaking moves? Also, what do you think of Litchi in CSEX, now that it's been a while and many many gameplay vids have been posted up on YT and nico?
iw2ma Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 LK, at SB you told me to do J.C whif command grab into C-nails with Bang in the corner. What exactly are the effects of this? I've seen it a few times done but not sure why i should be doing this.
Linear04 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 if they roll > nail catches them and its like a 4~5k combo meterless and you can do the same setup again dont tech > same deal tech > nothing happens but youre in the same position as a j.c ender and it keeps people in the corner

Romeyurhomey Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 LK, How do I work on spacing in terms of anti-airing properly and knowing what move will counter against theirs? I have a hard time with this when playing platinum or other characters with a short reach..
KayEff Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 go look in the bang forums social thread, i posted alot of shit about this like two months ago making me sad right now now you know how i feel every time i post something in the ragna forums

iw2ma Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I thought it was cool, especially with the simmering sounds of Persona 4 in the back lol.
