Blade Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Just because you've never played someone online or offline or they never went to a tourney you heard of doesn't mean they suck. Theory fighting (or lack thereof) doesn't count either. It's just Dustloop players being dicks as per usual. Focus on the hype for this game instead of how much you'll pwn the people around you, cuz eventually everyone loses in a fighting game.
OmniSScythe Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Awww i see that im hurting even more feelings in here(sad face). I dont play this game anymore, and when i did play the first few months there was not one person i couldnt beat that i faced against with a untraditional grouping of characters. Im just glancing at so many xbox live gamertags in here like hepatitiszed(i have replys) and epicgentlemen who can not fuck with me at all whatsoever in blazblue..even when rachel was trash you could never and will never win. Its scrubs like you who are the ones who main games like marvel3 where you may actually get away with beating someone you couldnt in other more brain involved games. Smash bros is as i said on the same level as marvel3 there both fighting game entertainment period. A game that holds your hand and only requires training mode. When fighting against zero, wesker, dante every single player is doing the exact same shit in there pressure or neutral game tactics for the most part. At the end of the day i dont know any of you in real life and i only post in here just to bring the ego of players like hep down a few notches. And remind them of just how free they are in more brain involved fighting games like blazblue. Using one unique or rather "rare" character (in this case Modok) doesn't make your team less traditional than anyone else using Doom and Sentinel. xD
FormerlyUnknown Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 wait so how is everyone playing key characters in marvel any different than scores of ragnas/jins/x-character in blazblue? it's all the same mindgames with foosties and cross-ups and overheads and stuff till you get a hit and you go into a combo that's just muscle memory at that point anyway. they both seem the same to me... marvels just faster and flashier and requires more attention to confirm those speedy pokes into combos... they're all baisically the same thing when you get down to the basics that matter at tourney level...
Blade Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 That's precisely why my team is Strider/Zero/Vergil...because I don't give a fuck about haters/theorists.
FormerlyUnknown Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 That's precisely why my team is Strider/Zero/Vergil...because I don't give a fuck about haters/theorists. that actually sounds like a good team aside from the fact that all those characters are pretty big meter users, strider's 2 lvl3's, vergil's lvl4, and zero's various super shenanigans

MasterMind Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 What FU said. I'd put Zero first considering he's an amazing battery.
The Noble Clap Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 You don't think I honestly TRY online do you? I mean, I spend half the match mashing j.A and flicking Ada on and off. And just because you beat someone, online, where CS1 Rachel sucked less too, doesn't make your point magically better or more credible. And HOW DARE YOU CALL BLAZBLUE THINKING BASED! But seriously, can I play Hawkeye as an alternate Chris? I kinda see it working, but I need good assists.
MasterMind Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Hell, I see Hawk Eye as being better than Chris in a lot of aspects. He can cover horizontal space in the air which is something Chris just can't do. Pair him with an assist that covers the ground like Iron Man/Doom beams, Taskmaster h-arrows, or Strange's Bolts and he should piss off people sufficiently well.
The Noble Clap Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Meh, I wouldn't call him better, he can control airspace but has no actual antiair moves, ragtime is a shitty AA, H-up Arrows go to about 35 degrees, and his S doesn't cover the top. Chris has L mines and flamethrowers. Even scummy scumbag Logan players have to respect mines.
MasterMind Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Why not use Hawkeye on point as well as Chris with landmine assist?
Linear04 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 LOL I'm surprised such scrubbiness can come from DL. you would not believe the amount of scrubs that post frequently on dl after bb, akin to srk's 09'ers im one of them
iw2ma Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I want to use Dante on point, like i will forever, with Hawk Eye poison assist for it to last the entirety of Dantes combos. My 3rd is unknown as of now.... Maybe Virgil, Strider, Iron Fist, Strange who knows.
Sphere211 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I just read through about 3-4 pages of some guy ranting about crap that made no sense, but it was fun. Anyways: I got bored and decided to play Phoenix on point. Was a buttload of fun. Totally trying this crap in Ult
PSOInvictus Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) Lol the guy with the biggest ego tells me he only posts to hurt my ego.I bet my name was too complicated for you to type out eh? Ha! Stay a sadlife youtube hero bro. Every time you respond you only prove my point. So how about we keep this to ultimate marvel discussion, and not the usual, "Hi im alex. I need to post to make my epeen look bigger." thanks Actually a guy here who plays phoenix on point oddly. It is sad marvel is the only game we have a scene for here other than....black ops Omg I just saw a bunch of dr doom stuff. Edited November 5, 2011 by PSOInvictus
A.B.A-can-do Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I run Phoenix on point. Its very enjoyable to play Phoenix as opposed to waiting for D.Phoenix.
Fujiwara Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I'm still choosing my third character for Doom/Wright Everyone looks have decent... Maybe RR for the log trap... So many choices...
Alex073088 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 All im gonna say is for those that believe blazblue doesnt require alot of thought when is actually why you get beat the way you do. Many of you mentioned and unmentioned in these last few pages lost to a horrible character who deals 1.1k damage on average constantly over and over. Characters like dark phoniex, and regular phoniex, zero(left right dashing and hard to see cross-ups while blocking an assists and very good mobility that many other characters dont have, great long combo potenial), wesker(with command throws, high life, teleports, one kill combos) when choosen against lesser characters require a whole lot less thought, while the other player is fighting an uphill battle actually infact having to think greatly because they dont have it that easy. Im sure ultimate fixed that problem and im hoping the game feels more balanced and bit more difficult for players overall. There arent as much scrub characters that are overpowered. Yes alot of my experinces with marvel3 have been online but definitley not all because we have a scene down and here and i have beaten anyone i played against atleast once. But that still doesnt change the fact that many top tier characters are easyly overpowered. lol like magneto l disruptor spam with sentinel assists. Or taskmaster with sentinel/dr.doom missles. Really easy mindless things that are very dominating to alot of the cast. I have the blessing to play blazblue offline. And in tournament i have placed top three in three different tournaments two having lord knight in them and one having omnissycthe. These players do well constantly because not only do they use great characters but they play them well and have good fighting game fundamentals/neutral game. Thats what sets them above the rest. And marvel3 currently now i honestly feel as though its not about fundamentals as much espically since people are all using one team kill combo teams.
Aureliano Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) I'll never understand why people are so against TOD comboes in Marvel. Everytime I see someone complaining about that I lose a little respect for them. I'm also loling at this "comboes are easy so fundamentals are not needed in this game." Makes perfect sense. Edited November 6, 2011 by Aureliano
The Noble Clap Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Ok, I don't have a problem with anything you just said. That made more sense then the rest of what you said. I'm trying to say Blazblue isn't a very good case for a game that requires thought. Maybe Street Fighter II or Mark of Wolves. And that name dropping doesn't make your point better. /civilarguementing But still only some people actually win anyway, even without "OP" characters, like LLND. He plays chris-zombie-dog. I think we can agree that the Marvel 3 tier list is just who is the most effective with the least effort, anyone is good with a team built around them like Chris-Spencer or Spiderman-Hidden Missles. And TOD is fucking stupid, it negates health differences between characters, turning faster characters for can mixup and land easy hits into monsters and slow characters become less viable as a result. /authortract Is golden zombie pendulem still good? I haven't seen it yet.
FormerlyUnknown Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 what's TOD mean in context of this game?
