SolxBaiken Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 what's TOD mean in context of this game? Any combo in this game
The Noble Clap Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) s.l>s.m isn't a touch of death. Unless you're X-factor lv3 Hulk vs Phoenix. Edited November 6, 2011 by The Noble Clap
Sphere211 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Characters like dark phoniex, and regular phoniex, zero(left right dashing and hard to see cross-ups while blocking an assists and very good mobility that many other characters dont have, great long combo potenial), wesker(with command throws, high life, teleports, one kill combos) when choosen against lesser characters require a whole lot less thought, while the other player is fighting an uphill battle actually infact having to think greatly because they dont have it that easy. Im sure ultimate fixed that problem and im hoping the game feels more balanced and bit more difficult for players overall. There arent as much scrub characters that are overpowered. Ehh Phoenix is still a pretty tough character to play. You gotta know what you're doing because mindless mashing will just get you killed in a hit and a half. The only time I could ever imagine mindless spamming being an uphill battle for the other guy is it they don't have a way to fullscreen punish your mindless spamming. Dark Phoenix, on the other hand... LP x n lololololol
Aureliano Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Considering the guy just said he thinks assist "spam" and using disruptor is "mindless", I would stop arguing here. He probably thinks spacing with hadoukens in SF is mindless spam too.
Setsuna Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 That's precisely why my team is Strider/Zero/Vergil...because I don't give a fuck about haters/theorists. ... That's my team D;
Xtra_Zero Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 vidya So how about that poster in the background at 3:37?
Sphere211 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) So how about that poster in the background at 3:37? Cyclops: Slain Colossus: Apprehended Captain Commando: Slain [;_____;] Marrow: Slain Ruby Heart: Apprehended Iceman: Slain [Good riddance] Jin: Slain Gambit: Apprehended Hayato: Apprehended Psylocke: Apprehended Cable: Slain [Good riddance] Megaman: still free/at large/whatever Rogue: Apprehended Son Son: Slain BB Hood/Buletta: Apprehended Amingo: Slain It's just a reference to a comic cover. furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 So basically those are like all the characters you know you won't see, right? Or so is what people believe?
SolxBaiken Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 It's just a set design that calls to fans of 2. Granted none of those characters were in the original 3 and obviously not in Ultimate, but depending on Capcom and Marvels plans who knows.
Sphere211 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Some people believe the 'apprehended + Megaman' will be DLC. Some random stuff about Niitsuma wanting 58 characters and people are putting the 50 char roster + 7 apprehended + Megaman together.
Sphere211 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I'd like to believe it since I'm theorizing that the DLC characters will be returning characters, because Capcom wanted to focus 3 on introducing a new cast, and now that they've done that, they might as well bring back some oldies. Even though there is only one set of DLC to prove this, Jill/Shuma could be a trend setter. Both are returning characters [albeit Jill is completely different, but it's still Jill] But this is just me rambling =/
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nah, it all makes sense when put that way. It isn't a bad thing if they bring those characters back. It is a very solid and well thought out theory.
iw2ma Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 They're assuming Megaman would be the first as well, if it's true, which also makes sense. I sure want my Gambit and Hayato no lie.... mainly Gambit. I'd have a team of characters i'd actually want to use if they were both in there.
Aureliano Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I hope this isn't true. Fuck DLC characters. When the concept was new I was intrigued, but now that I'm acquainted with the reality of the matter, I'd really rather not, no matter how badly I want megaman in.
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yeah, although DLC characters can be a pain for TOs, I still think I wouldn't mind the extra characters.
Hecatom Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 the hate against DLC chars would be always amaze me at this point, i think that its plain ridiculous and i should say, stupid to think that they are more problematic than yearly (or in the case of this game a few months) releases, they expand the game life and in the end are more convenient in general, they have more pors than cons
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I guess, though developers are sorta getting out of hand with them, too.
Shruikon Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yeah. I like the idea of DLC to be used to extend the games lifetime by offering new maps, characters, scenarios etc. The problem is that developers are doing shit like on-disc DLC when back in the day they would have been unlockables or something. When they're purposely locking away content already on the disc and then putting it up for "DLC", that's when it gets out of hand.

furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 The femme fatalie or w/e it is that's pre-order bonus is probably on the disc already, yes.
