Shruikon Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 That doesn't really make me feel much better though :p I'd prefer to lose because of some mistake I made rather than it being completely out of my control, if that makes any sense. Though I'd prefer neither of them to happen :x
Errol Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 well, shrug. The only way I can play this game is to accept that I'm going to lose to people that are better than me, while thinking that I can improve enough to do much better without switching characters or anything. Tsubaki is T tier but it's just a scapegoat anyway. I'm not that good either, trust me . I like to think that I can beat anyone without switching characters, if I were good enough. I don't think that's far from the truth, really.. whether it is or not, I don't care. Solar, this avatar leans a bit heavily towards the gruesome side.. I like the last one better, but not bad...
SolarMisae Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Lag is an acceptable excuse. If you can't block or do combos or move properly it doesn't matter how good you are. This is why netplay without a good connection sucks. But if your connection is good then no excuses. Also I prefer this avatar. <3 Psycho Yuno is best Yuno.
Shruikon Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 But if your connection is good then no excuses. Blame the other persons connection.
LuminAbyss Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Or play offline. OMG WHAT IS OFFLINE I'EVE NEVAR HEARD OF IT!!!!!1!!1!!
ThunderboltZ28 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I wish I could play offline. Not that it would make that much of a difference. Lag isn't the reason I lose.
Shruikon Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 OMG WHAT IS OFFLINE I'EVE NEVAR HEARD OF IT!!!!!1!!1!! I heard it was just a myth.
SolarMisae Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 OMG WHAT IS OFFLINE I'EVE NEVAR HEARD OF IT!!!!!1!!1!! It's basically the same, but instead of netplay lag you blame monitor lag. Theres a bonus though cause you can punch the other player in the face if you want.
LuminAbyss Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Considering I play well offline unless I'm tired/not enthusiastic, I don't blame other people for my losses. If I lose, it's my fault. I didn't play the match-up correctly, I didn't make good choices, I didn't practice my combos enough, whatever. Even if I'm tired/hungry/whatever, it's still my fault for not being prepared. That's how it should always be.
Errol Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 What makes me sad is when lag is so bad that just simple gatlings actually drop. like 5bb>5cc dropping in lag. or 5cc>22C
Errol Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 if anyones around, I think that Konan *might* be coming on the blue revo stream soon..
Airk Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Konans on!. He used mugen! it got bursted! This is my shocked face! :P But more seriously, it seems like using Mugen in the 1st round is to your advantage, because most people don't like to burst then, so if they do, you can uh...at least go into the next round(s) with a burst advantage. :P And if they don't burst, you actually get to do your combo!
Masamune Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I have no idea but I just think Aksys just has no love for Tsubaki. She wasn't that powerful in CS2 but they had to nerf her. But on the bright side, it keeps tier whores away. I wouldn't like it if ppl pick her just because she is S-tier.
redsilversnake Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I have no idea but I just think Aksys just has no love for Tsubaki. She wasn't that powerful in CS2 but they had to nerf her. Arcsys. Arcsys. Arcsys. Aksys is the NA localization company, not the developer. And yeah, she was solid. But I still say that it turned out that way because they decided to do Extend and P4A at the same time. Not good to divide resources like that when you're a relatively small company.
Errol Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Japan 700+ psr.
Errol Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I wasn't sure where I should put that, this might be the wrong place, I don't even know anymore

I get the naming wrong sometimes. But grrr, why can't she just stick to B-tier? She isn't exactly spammable or powerful, since she relies mostly on charges.

Interesting list, though it clearly does not correlate directly to power. Maybe correlates closer to "how much work is it to be good with this character", which is not the same thing. After all, I don't think anyone is going to argue that Tao is low tier or that Tager is top. Certainly if I were Arcsys (which clearly I am not) I would be extremely hesitant to use this sort of data in anything resembling a balancing discussion. It's fun to look at though. What WOULD be really interesting though, would be to track this kind of data between iterations - for example, correlate this chart with a CS1 and CS2 "players over 200 PSR" or something similar (whatever 'roughly equal to 700 PSR' is).
Errol Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 A side-by-side comparison with the bluerevo participation numbers is somewhat interesting though. I mean, 307 Ragnas -> 18 ragnas, 37 tsubaki-> 3 tsubaki. 97 arakune -> 16 arakune... Here are those numbers: Ragna 18 Arakune 16 Hakumen 16 Valkenhayn 16 Bang 14 Carl 13 Hazama 12 Litchi 12 Jin 11 Taokaka 10 Platinum 9 Lambda 8 Noel 8 Rachel 8 Mu 6 Relius 4 Tager 4 Makoto 3 Tsubaki 3
Errol Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) Does this mean anything? Well, probably something, but I don't know what. (jpn 700+ psr->starting brackets-> after first round) 【307->18->7】ラグナ ragna 【167->4->2】テイガー tager 【164->11->3】ジン jin 【158->12->5】ハザマ hazama 【119->16->8】白面 hakumen 【109->14->10】バング bang 【97->16->8】アラクネ arakune 【93->8->3】ノエル noel 【90->16->9】ヴァルケン valkenhyne 【76->8->5】Λ lambda 【74->4->1】レリウス relius 【72->12->6】ライチ litchi 【59->9->1】プラチナ platinum 【57->6->3】μ mu 【55->8->3】レイチェル rachel 【52->13->9】カルル carl 【48->10->5】タオカカ taokaka 【37->3->2】ツバキ tsubaki 【36->3->3】マコト makoto Edited March 26, 2012 by Errol
pktazn Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 That's pretty interesting. I'd like to know how many of each character there would be if it were single elimination kinda like how SBO was last year. I like teams more though since you get more players (and players you want to see lol) to possibly make it in.
