Soriphen Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Lmfao man, so many spammers online; it's ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. You can literally just stand in place and the opponent will keep pressing 2A/5A...I tested it out and it's funny as hell. Can't wait till 3 months down the road for less silliness.
Jyosua Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 So remember that mysterious 800 damage I posted about? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1s7Uo1Aw44
Moy_X7 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 My two theories for that happening are: 1) Training Mode glitch: BB had a few of those involving what would be instant overheads. 2) j.B might deal more damage depending on what part of the opponent's body you stab. Yukiko's air fans count as lows if you hit the opponent on their legs with them.

ryofoong Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 You mean I won't get as many free thanatos grabs to the point where I can throw someone 4 times in a row in 3 months?! Damn, I might have to step up my game. Maybe.

I'm pretty sure after looking over the video that it's not a Training Mode glitch for two reasons: the increased SP gain and the hitstun. With the 800 damage j.B, he gets 5 SP for the hit. Even the max charged version only gives you less than 4 for the hit. Then, you have this: The 800 damage hit seems to have equal or possibly more hitstun. I tried to capture these as accurately as possible at 0.25x speed but they may be a bit off. Both the points aside, simply trying this in Versus mode would rule out a Training Mode glitch as well. Your second idea has some merit though as it could be a specific place/way you have to hit to get it. The only other thing I could think of is a just frame or small number of frames during the charge that makes the j.B do critical damage (800) and even more hit-stun.
Celerity Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 In training mode, is there any way to get the CPU to do one specific move repeatedly? It's very tiring (not to mention inaccurate) to record myself mashing repeatedly.

Yeah, I was thinking either it's a body location thing, or a hitbox/frame related thing. I'm leaning towards the former because I was only able to get it to happen when hitting the legs or head.
SoWL Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Finally got a chance to play the game at my friend's place. It feels like it has absolutely everything I want in a fighting game, and I can actually play it on a stick (not like I have one, though). Can't wait for the European release.
No Limitz Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Is the negative penalty tolerance the same throughout all the characters or are some characters more resistant to it than others like in BB?
A.4.Awesome Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I'll never understand what I'm doing wrong with fighting games. Maybe in this game's case it's because of the A-spammers, but regardless, no matter how hard I practice, I can't even win against fellow F- Ranked players.
White Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Unless you are in an arcade or your friends really hate having to change controls, you can just change it yourself. Blazblue layout is working well with me thanks for clearing it out I will never go out to Japan and will only enter local tournaments for the game, so I assume there wont be any problems there MY problem with this game, as well as for others from what I gathered, is that stupid shake out of the Ice ailment thing. What were they thinking bringing it back? I thought ASW learned their lesson after the numerous complaints they received from the Japanese players during Calamity and it doesnt help that the top character has it as her main Ailment also...

You basically answered your own question. Freeze is an ailment, not combo fodder. It's not even as good as most of the other ailments in the game.
Circuitous Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Pretty much every fighting game has stagger that can be mashed out of to reduce the duration. Just because it's ice doesn't mean it's suddenly a bad thing. And unlike CT, the vast majority of combos using ice don't yellow beat even if you mash out, so it's far less frustrating.
SolxBaiken Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I'm such a scumbag lol, Slash, Slash, Stinger! Mitsuru is the worst thing to ever happen to me = x=

Kurushii Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Yea, I hated freezing in CT. This though nah. It's easy to break out of if the opponent isn't on their game with the followup. Just mash 1 fast five times on landing. :/
Keo-bas Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I've been getting the feeling offensive momentum is strong in this game. I've been trying to approach this game passive but no real success. Msybe im not playing the right character. God why do i struggle with Arc game so much? (except BF)

I've been trying to approach this game passive but no real success. Msybe im not playing the right character. God why do i struggle with Arc game so much? (except BF) At the risk of sounding as a douche, from every post of yours here on DL and SRK i feel that you never put a real effort on learning the games and just put some sort of excuse to justify why you can't be successful on those games. Like what you are doing right now, instead of trying to learn how the defensive game works, you just decide to think that the offensive momentum is stronger than the defensive one, so you are defeating yourself from the very beginning, because you simply refuse to learn how the game works. IllogicalDreamr Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I love this game, but the only thing getting on my nerves are the IKs. People are getting so lucky with these since I don't know what to look out for yet and they all have some stupid way of trying to catch you. What are the conditions for being able to use one? Do you need full bar and barely any health?
FunkyP Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 We have an entire newbie subforum for those who don't know whats going on in the game or why are they losing to scrubby online tactics, you guys will probably find answers there on how to improve as well.

Wing Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Auto-combo is lol well i'm able to sub the whole cast thanks to this, so fuck you
