zeth07 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 yeah, since Bang's Furinkazan is not a DD, but the new overdrive system, makes sense he doesn't need 4 seals to use it, just low life and a full Overdrive charged up. So I wonder how his new seal is going to be used. (Is it going to be like Hakuman style?) I edited my post that kinda theorized this but i'll mention it again. Technically speaking I don't think there's any waiting period to use Overdrive if you really wanted to. So in theory, much like Gold Bursts, you can probably use it whenever you want. Of course it's actual effectiveness will probably be better at low life as it is mentioned already, so it will last longer which actually makes it worth using. I'm still going to go with the seals are needed for his new distortion. EDIT: I can confirm that Bang needs 4 seals for his new distortion. welp, there we go, lol.
XDest Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) I was thinking the same thing When I looked at ragna's 5C recovery. -~- Well, it's what originally prevented things like taunt loop, even though move properties were almost identical, but they thought that SMP would prevent things like that anyways. But people starting exploiting things more and finding more loops anyways. So they might have just said screw it and put back in the timer. Edit: Vulcan, much better attempt at romanizing Bullet's moveset, I'm not too great at it. Edited August 6, 2012 by XDest
Blade Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Some things I wanna ask: Trigger Crush: they said it works after certain moves, I assume that means only certain normals have it, so players will eventually be able to guess when it may come, kinda like those chargeable stun moves in SF4? But, what if Trigger Crush actually hits a non-blocking player? What kind of hit properties does it have or does it vary, or maybe just crumple-stun? Also, regarding this Overdrive System: I hear you have to be in neutral to perform it...but is that really true? I mean, most Ragna players would cancel in to Blood Kain mid-combo as part of how he plays, I can't picture doing a completely unsafe raw Blood Kain Idea OD unless it were Okizeme or after a good Fatal Counter. Any more information would help.

Any more information would help. I can't confirm/deny, but I would think it would still work like Gold Bursts, meaning as long as you aren't in blockstun/hitstun you can activate Overdrive. Guess we'll have to wait and hear from someone else to confirm though.
suwave688 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 The worst overdrive has to be Hazama's if it works in that manner. His attacks would get weaker as the life ring takes it's toll. Any thoughts on top overdrives, low, etc.?
Well, I tried to TL what I could, forgive me for the errors. I really don't understand some of this stuff. - 6B can be jump cancelled. - 4B is only special cancellable. - The 22x moves don't have a clear use. Princess (nickname for Rachel)'s umbrella whirls and whirls around and is cute. - Frog can be placed after 5CC but it seems that electricity doesn't activate. After placing George, 5B pickup hits them in the air (My note: I'm not sure on the translation for this particular sentence at all). - 6A doesn't float on hit, if you hit the opponent on the ground he will stay grounded. - This is something about air A lobelia but I have no clue what he's saying. - It feels like the trajectory after hitting is slightly different. - Wow, I have no idea what the hell this sentence is going on about. My best guess is that it after j.B jump cancel, the opponent does not get 'bounded' if he's too high. - Overdrive feels like wind will recover after a fixed period as though Rachel were grounded. Looking forward to future research. (My own note: I guess this means Rachel can recover wind in OD while in the air.) - Something about there being no Gold Burst.
Beautiful Death Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 maybe you would see ragna 6c dash cancel then overdrive but I heard 6c dash cancel was removed? I am sure there would be some way to do it if it stayed that way.
OmegaBankai Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Maybe it would still have the same effect on them. Either 3 things may happen 1.They get stunned 2.The attack you were using before loses its guard crushing properties since they werent blocking? 3.Its treated as if they were blocking even if they werent, so you would follow up normally. Hmm.. maybe 1 or 3 for trigger crush. Overdrive lasts longer depending on how low your health is, so im assuming that most people wont use it at max health because it might make your special combos less significant in damage and situation. If ragnas blood kain is being replaced by it, perhaps it can be canceled? It makes you invincible when you use it and it also freezes time. And the specific moves for trigger crush? What is that supposed to mean? A normal move or a special move? Perhaps using an overhead would suffice in activating it, since it takes time to hit them... Also would it be possible to overdrive in the air? Edited August 6, 2012 by OmegaBankai
Blade Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I wonder if Trigger Crush is a ground-only move, if it was air-to-ground as well, that would definitely make mixups more of a challenge to block.
drzero7 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I wonder of Bullet is part of NOL. I can't understand moonspeak but that's the vibe I'm getting from the trailer? (Looks like a modified black uniform) Same thing with Azarel. (Again, looks like a modified blue uniform)
Chaoschao222 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Well in BB you're either NOL, a vigilante, S7, or some ancient superpower whose true power has yet to be seen, so she's got a pretty good shot at being NOL.

Sounds bizzare as fuck but I'm hoping it does better this time around.

That would be interesting, and for some people pretty hard to read, i guess this is where the "Certain moves" thing comes in. regardless, the fact that you need to barrier block to protect yourself from being guard crushed must hold some significance to the game. If they guess wrong they risk being vulnerable, however if they guess right you waste 25 meter which isnt all that bad, and are probably left in a punishable state depending on the move you did. Or you could reset pressure and threaten to break their guard again, so while they are worried about being guard crushed, you have the option of simply grabbing...
Starlight777 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 So judging from Bullet's drive description and movelist, she sounds like some type of speedy grappler. Was not expecting that.
Juunee Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 So judging from Bullet's drive description and movelist, she sounds like some type of speedy grappler. Was not expecting that. Apparently her DD "Blackout" is a 1080D input. I can feel the wrist pain already.
補正は緩いっぽい 生でしか出してないので、必殺技のようにキャンセルで出せるかは未確認 this pertains to Platinum specifically, but may give some idea about the crush triggers. she pulls out a musket look thing (hello Mami) and then a boxing glove shoots out. not sure about other characters, but it seems easy to use. start up is around the same as 6B. recovery seems slow, and only did it raw, have yet to confirm whether it can be cancelled into like DD. based on this, my speculation is that they are super punishable if you barrier block, and that can be done on reaction. unless i'm not understanding 補正は緩いっぽいcorrectly. not sure about the last bit either
suwave688 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 With Trigger Crushes,it's likely to not be as difficult. Same goes with Tager as well in that case.
OmegaBankai Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Jin Changes Changed Move: Sekkajin Input is now 22C, has followups. New Move: Hizansen j.214C New Move: Hizangeki j.214D Changed Move: Hiyoku Getsumei Can be performed in the air. 236B and 236C removed 214A removed 623A removed Well, that could be a problem. Eh some of this stuff is scratch head worthy.. they removed the fast and slow versions of ice blade? They removed the fast version of blizzard and apparently sekkajin has some weird ice follow up for 25 meter, id rather just mash C instead unless it does some major damage... Air Getsumei is nice, unless its like, well the way it is now. Air DP may be a nice quick overhead, i see it as a tradeoff for the A fubuki/blizzard, and the D version should probably freeze. I wonder if you can still spam ice blades, except by jumping now, it cant be gone entirely, maybe they just got rid of the ground versions. Im unsure about what the ice mechanic is like before the overdrive and after, so im ignoring that for now.

Niko Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Apparently her DD "Blackout" is a 1080D input. I can feel the wrist pain already. Not just a 1080 input. It's the followup to a 720, which is already a followup to another 720!
Starlight777 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I didn't think the Trigger Crush was it's own attack. I thought it was adding a guard break property to certain moves.
WolfCrimson Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Ok, thoughts about CP, since I just woke up and read everything: WTF happened to BB? The changes are so drastic this time around. Overdrives? Crush triggers? It hardly seems like a game from the samw franchise as Extend. And all this when the game was acheiving a good balance between the cast, they just throw a wrench - no, not a wrench - a goddamn toolbox at it. But, I guess it's too early to panic, really, so I'll just keep reading. Also it's only the first loketest, and i remember first extenfloketest where bursts used up meter... So everything is up in the air. all i wish for, though, is that it feels like BB and that the metagame balance gets better, or at least not worse.
Chaoschao222 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I didn't think the Trigger Crush was it's own attack. I thought it was adding a guard break property to certain moves. It sounds like they're their own attacks if Platinum's is a before unseen musket and her only otherwise new move is a counter.

CT > CS had more major alterations than this. if you were around since CT this kind of update shouldn't surprise you.
Mumm-Ra Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 CT was more fun anyways, I hope CP becomes something like that.
