mAc Chaos Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Yes please to enhanced replay functionality - I really don't understand why I can't even rewind my replays in the current version. I'm guessing because it's not really a recording that the game saves. It just saves a list of inputs and replays an actual match, like if you had two training mode bots against each other. That's why the files aren't that big. What I never got was why it was limited to a 100.

Or why we can't share our replays, or be able to save local replays :/ snip Like i said i am all for good tutorial modes, but i am also for a tutorial mode that encourages the player to try to find and experiment stuff from him/herself Explaining basic concepts and other nuisances is ok, but at some point it can become tedious, not only because there is the potential to need to explain everything, but because at some point, you would need to start going deeper on more technical stuff. Imo, there is a need to not only have good tutorials, but also a better way to engrave on the players the desire to explore the game. That and Online training mode. There is not a better way to learn a game while playing against other people, and Online training mode can help for those who also want to test specific stuff with other people. Mightfo Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 you know, the arcade version isnt even out yet, maybe if we bother arcsys enough(what method would be best? a particular email) they'll put in offline replay options in console version at least its a long shot but that would be just fucking fantastic imo, should be a pretty low effort thing to show that we care about it, so...
Hecatom Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I do wonder if is better for us to try to contact them directly or use Aksys games as an intermediary. I know that at least Online training mode and offline replays are at the top of my desired features, and possibly the chance of being able to share the replays with other people via copy/past files

Maybe the tutorials should just hand-hold them to the point of teaching them how to find and experiment on their own?

I think they are early enough in the console stuff for it to have a chance at being included if the people who want this glorious gave the Arc a shout out. It's worth a shot, no? Where would one go to get a direct (enough) way to contact them? I'm sure if enough of us let them know it may be included at some time or a future title. Lol if nothing else we could all say we tried instead of just dreaming.
DSveno Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Maybe the tutorials should just hand-hold them to the point of teaching them how to find and experiment on their own? The problem is, where should be the end point for hand-holding? Some people think that unless the game points out what they are doing wrong, they won't know what they are doing wrong, and that's the problem. I thought P4A did it right this time, because I'm sure I've seen a bunch of other people that aren't familiar with FGs playing it for several days when I was at the game shop (I don't know what is it called in English, though. Gamecafe? The place where people are gathering and rent a console to play).

I know that at least Online training mode and offline replays are at the top of my desired features, and possibly the chance of being able to share the replays with other people via copy/past files You know what's at the top of almost everybody's list for desired features? A rematch option. It's a small complaint, yes, but literally every other major game has it. It almost seems criminal not to have it by now. By the same token, it's criminal that other games don't have button-check at the character select screen.

But if I could only choose one of those two options, I'd choose to have the button check at the character select. Something about having a Rematch option gives me a feeling I'd get sick of a stage and certain songs really fast, since you can't repick those.
Cheefoo Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Right. But if I could only choose one of those two options, I'd choose to have the button check at the character select. Or they could make it like Skullgirls: each rematch "rerolls" all random settings. So every time it's a different stage/song if you had it set to random.
Mightfo Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 rematch is nice and all but all it does is save a little time. recording offline replays would help a lot of people analyze their actual play, would help a lot more good matches get uploaded, etc

I know it doesn't mean much, but when I'm sparring with my friends for about 60 ~ 80 matches, I really want such option.
mAc Chaos Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 But then I won't get to hear the announcer say HAKMEN 80 times at the character select screen.
Airk Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 We already have button check at character select in every vaguely recent ArcSys game, so I don't think we really need to bother them about that. Rematch option would be nice, but to say "every other vaguely recent game" has it is... inaccurate, since neither SF4 nor P4A have it. :P Another replay functionality that would be nice (we don't need all the SF4 style replay channel functions, necessarily, though being able to watch replays with other people is really nice) is to poach the Third Strike Online Edition YOUTUBE integration. That's such a great feature it made me want to buy 3SO even though I don't give a crap about SF3. :P

Everyone is only pointing that between the quick rematch and the character select screen button check, they prefer the later Rematch option would be nice What i find funny is that the GG games have the quick rematch option, you can even turn it on/off on the options menu, dunno why on BB and P4 they took it out. Also, I don't know about you, but there are no "game cafes" in the places I've lived.
STenSatsu Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I know during the Fanime interview way back when we asked Mori about rematch and he just said no lol. No real explanation was given. Though considering P4A doesn't have it either maybe there's some reasoning behind it.

The reasoning is that implementing a rematch option takes too much time away from rendering breasts, and we can't have that under Mori's watch.
destruction_adv Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 The reasoning is that implementing a rematch option takes too much time away from rendering breasts, and we can't have that under Mori's watch. Mori's favorite is Noel, that's all I'm gonna say.
Darlos9D Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Mori's favorite is Noel, that's all I'm gonna say. Then it takes too much time away from talking about her small breasts. BlazBlue really enjoys that subject.
redsilversnake Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Mori's favorite is Noel, that's all I'm gonna say. He prefers large busts. Why else do you think Noel's the only non-loli who's small?
Beautiful Death Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I don't know if it really matters if there is a button check in the character select screen. It looks like most people do in an in-game button check even then. Rematch would be nice though. Like, especially since every other fighting game has it and IT WAS IN GUILTY GEAR. Removing content that was present before? What is this, Star Fox 3DS?
swordiris Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 He prefers large busts. Why else do you think Noel's the only non-loli who's small? Kokonoe. Speaking of her, do you all predict she will be on consoles?
