Looks like the 'sword increase' buff from overdrive applies to distortions as well, they're both in their UNLIMITED forms while it's active. And google translate gave us this little gem concerning her mode-change: "Can switch the mode by "face lift" can be mortal. Technique that can be used in different modes." Not sure what it means by 'mortal' but the 'face lift' implies to me she's simply taking off her mask to change modes.

Ugggh, please don't post Google translations ; -;

"Mortal" refers to Special Attacks, and I don't think it's "Face Lift" but "Phase Lift/Rift" (after reading SoWL's ninja post Rift makes more sense than Lift, but it could still be), notice that the screens that show this action she still has the mask on but is now wearing a cosmic halo .o.

I think Phase would've been フェイズ, not フェイス.

I think the 'cosmic halo' is just part of the effect of the move change animation. The cylinder part of it is still partially there in those shots as well. And sorry for the horrid translations, google is all I have and at least that one was more hilariously bad than the others. I don't wanna post the others.

Hmm they do you "zu" in the Phase Shift kata, but Face Lift just seems weird, silly Japanese~

Yeah but the cosmic halo is in other shots too, it's like the first thing that stood out to me.

Looking back, I see the halo in all the shots where she's using her drive, which implies it's there for her 'active' mode, unless her drive stays consistent between modes and the armored/armorless thing is completely off.

Probably nothing interesting, but here's the translated bios (sorry if some terms don't match the offical translations, I haven't been keeping track of what they use).

----------

μ-No.12-(Mu-Twelve)

"I...want to...become strong!"

Noel's awakened form as the successor of the true azure. The pinnacle form of a dimensional contact unit. As the "God Slayer Sword - Kusanagi" she was the only being capable of destroying the Master Unit in the boundary, but with Ragna's help she was able to regain herself. And now, to save her friend, she asks Rachel to teach her to control her power.

ν-No.13-(Nu)

"Commencing target annihilation"

In the console version of "Blazblue: Calamity Trigger", Nu was supposed to have fallen into the caldron alone and perished after a monumental battle with Ragna, but she returns as a playable character in this iteration. She revived with her own will to fuse with Ragna, with her current form being something Hazama refers to as the "Sword of Hades". She has been retuned by Hazama, and stands once more in Ragna's way.

Edit: Also of dubious usefulness, but I did the final section as well. It might be confusing without the pictures so please read it along with the site for reference. I don't know how people talk so I apologize if any of the dialogue seems out of character. (And yes, the original really has that many quotes >w>)

■In a game where both Mu and Nu make an appearance, what sort of development will Noel's story have!?

Having managed to escape to Ikaruga, Noel, to save her friend "Tsubaki Yayoi" from the brainwashing of the "Sealing Armament - Izayoi", faces "herself" to obtain "power"...

【1】VS Amane:Mistaking her for a crossdressing boy, Amane attempts to scout her

Dialogue:

Noel - Dance troupe? Is that...something like a group that does plays and stuff?

Amane - Sorry for the late introduction. My name is Amane, Amane Nishiki.

I lead a dance troupe that travels the world!

【2】VS Rachel:The person Noel must face is!?

Dialogue:

Noel - ...I...have someone I want to protect!

Someone I want to save!!

Rachel - The power that you seek, I'll materialize it.

If you can "face" it...

You might be able to obtain that "power".

After fighting Rachel, the one that Noel must face is......!?

Find out the conclusion of this story by playing!

Dialogue:

??? - That's... the "Power of the Azure" that lies within you, yourself.

I hope they're tested this time around.

Mu's steins look an awful lot like Dizzy's fish now.

I was thinking that aswell! Or that they look like they are ramming themselves forwards.

huh, I expected Nu's mode change to be more dramatic, but whatever, she's still our adorable li'l yandere robot. I am liking that they changed Mu's AH even if they chose a very...interesting camera angle.

Noel's fight against Rachel is in Kagutsuchi Port AM from CT. There, CT/CS stages are indeed in the game for all the people who would complain about their removal.

"Sword of Hades" was actually used in CS True End post credits scene, there it was read as "Izanami no Tsurugi" by Hazama in Japanese (Izanami even showed up in furigana), but the English dub said "Sword of the Imperator". Before calls of off-topic, just explaining what it means since it showed up in translations of Nu's profile in THIS thread. No need for further discussion on it in the story thread, because there is nothing further to discuss about it.

Oh, and yeah the article calls Mu and Nu "time release characters" (I.E. time-locked). They will not be playable day 1.

By time-release are we looking at arcades getting them at console release?

By time release we're looking at something similar to Hakumen/Nu in CT and Labrys/Elizabeth/S.Labrys in P4U.

Time release for characters from the previous version is pretty strange though, it will just make players maining those two wait for no reason.

Hmm... I just looked at the pics of Nu and Mu...

I'm really liking the way Mu's steins look now [and they do look likr Dizzy's fish]

As for Nu I'm excited as always but... there's one part I couldn't understand...

"Drive 'Sword Summoner' New is their ability to inject the sword ranged attacks from the air. You will be able to ward off an opponent if dismissed without mastering the missile of them! ?"

What in the world does that mean? Is it just telling us stuff about her drive that we already knew or is this something completely new to her drive?

That's... kind of ridiculous. Players who main those characters will not have immediate access or am I misinterpreting that statement?

You're not misinterpreting and it is pretty bad. Though I suppose it's because they're not quite done yet and ASW is staggering their release so they can still get CP out this year. They could always be loketested before unlock, periodic balance patches are supposed to be one of the big advantages of Nesica.

This is actually alright with me -- if it applies to console -- Ive several other chars to play and when they do release her, I'd like to say heads will roll but ill prbly br getting rusty by that point ;_;lll

It's better than no access.

seems strange but i guess they just want it out before a certain date instead of delaying everything to get those two charas ready. weird though. i feel like they plan to do a balance patch or two pretty quick after launch like they did for persona and gg

Why are people acting like this is a new concept or the end of the world? CT did the same thing with Nu before, this is nothing revolutionary. Nu and Mu players will be able to live without them for awhile.
