Star-Demon Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 You're so defensive it's embarrasing. No more about it - I've gotten myself in trouble already. PM me.
Sechs Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Hakumen starting every round with full meter? THE NAME OF THE GAME. Huh, did I miss something or just hyperbole?
TekkamanArk Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 So, i'd been taking a break from posting here because I was dealing with finals and playing SRW 2nd OG, but I have to say, Izayoi looks a lot more fun than I imagined. So, now my interest in new characters is like so, from most to least: Azrael, Izayoi, Bullet, Amane. It's probably been said before, but the character select looks like it has 4 spaces. Celica seems likely from the happenings of arcade mode, as does Kokonoe, and the whole situation with Saya/Imperator is too odd to not be a hint. I'd hope for the last slow to be Jubei, but i'm wholly expecting ASW to make Linhua playable or something instead.
Tong Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 For certain characters, using OD in the beginning of the round is beneficial, since it takes like 25~30 seconds to recharge for a Burst. And realistically, most matches take longer than that. So unless you get pwned or Fatal'ed, you'll get your Burst back by the time you really need it.

(Wouldn't mind Linhua or maybe a Human Arakune form)
xntrikcat Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Is there a translated version of the 12/12/12 update somewhere?
zeth07 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Is there a translated version of the 12/12/12 update somewhere? Airk Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 If Litchi was good she'd be winning. This is not necessarily correct. If she's good she has a better chance of winning, but concluding that she never wins and therefore is 'not good' is defective logic. Is Tsubaki the best character in the game since Konan won the 1 on 1 Summit of Blazblue? Heh. Is Lambda/Platinum/Tao/Mu/Rachel bad because they don't win big events either? Get over yourself and your character.
Halcyone3 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 ▼Μu I fixed the problem by Amenohabakiri. Isn't this the stein explosion move? Did the OD loop get taken out?
NeoStrayCat Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Well, at least it was fun while those bugs lasted, now that they fixed them and all. Isn't this the stein explosion move? Did the OD loop get taken out? Who knows, expect results/info soon if the loop has been removed or not.
Mumm-Ra Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Litchi mains being retarded, how surprising. Huh, did I miss something or just hyperbole? Pretty sure he means you can activate OD at the beggining of the round to get a lot of stars, even at full health. Edited December 13, 2012 by Mumm-Ra
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 How long does it normally take for the mooks to come out? Always after console release at any rate right? Nah, there will be an arcade version mook and then they will sometimes do an updated one for the console version. This was true with GG in a couple of cases. In any case, release usually takes a few months.
Halcyone3 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Pretty sure he means you can activate OD at the beggining of the round to get a lot of stars, even at full health. He gets around 4 If I remember right. Same works with Tsubaki who gets like 3 charges by doing instant OD at start.
Sechs Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 If memory serves me correct, Hakumen gets 3 magatama with OD at the start which results in him having 4. Since CP Haku guzzles magatama like a kid in a Sunny Delight commercial, I just found Star's statement a bit perplexing.
Mumm-Ra Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 That is if he doesn't land a hit during the OD, of course, wich would add at least 1 star.
Isuna Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 For certain characters, using OD in the beginning of the round is beneficial, since it takes like 25~30 seconds to recharge for a Burst. More like 50 seconds for a Burst and 40 seconds for a OD.
Agni Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 He gets around 4 If I remember right. Same works with Tsubaki who gets like 3 charges by doing instant OD at start. I'm not so sure that blowing your OD at the beginning just for some more stars/charges is a smart idea. Well, I guess it could work in the "completely out of left field option that catches your opponent off guard" way.
psycofang2 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 idk seems pretty situation dependant honestly, vs some characters and how you handle them it might be a good idea to stack your options as much as possible, where as some characters that can get up in your face quickly and are hard to get them out it may be a good idea to save a burst. in the end you make a choice, you deal with what comes as both are valid decisions.
Mumm-Ra Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 That's what the OD system is all about, is it not?
Airk Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I'm not so sure that blowing your OD at the beginning just for some more stars/charges is a smart idea. Well, I guess it could work in the "completely out of left field option that catches your opponent off guard" way. I dunno; Since that's all overdrive does for some characters anyway, you have to consider that at the start of the round, your opponent is at their least dangerous - they haven't had a chance to build up their special gauges, they don't have any heat, so they're not going to be doing any fancy RC combos, and a lot of people start the round by airdashing back anyway. You might be hard pressed to find a time when you are less likely to need a burst, and since it takes less time for the gauge to recover from an OD than it does for a burst, odds are your burst will be ready by the time you really need it.
skd Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 there are upsides to it, but personally i dont think its that great unless you already have a round in your belt and want to avoid using your burst near the end of the round (as to not put yourself in a bad position at the start of the next round if you lose) but still get usage out of it.
SolxBaiken Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 ACTION > OD is a confidence bet, if you feel you can handle the opponent and the extra push is just there to assert that statement, then go ahead. Of course there is a dark side to bets = w=

Of course there is a dark side to bets = w= So to put it simple, you want to say OD can become ah effectives weapon at the start of the game,or can become an obstacles for us rigth?hmm....interesting.
