Hell yea. Except I don't even have a taunt button. Makes playing Tao hard.

Set the taunt button to R3, that's what I do lol

Another Famitsu article on the story mode.

Edit:

4Gamer has a similar article, their screenshots of the story CGs also have dialogue.

LOL, Ragna talks to himself about how pathetic it was for him to be defeated... Then he notices he's being healed and he's like "Huh? What... This sensation...!?".

I don't know why but I really like how the story selection screen looks. The fact that you seem to be able to select the episode rather than play through to the point (to get some info and stuff) is really nice.

I really love this game and I definitely want to get it in October but I am so pissed that in order to play the character I am most excited (Kagura) I have to go through the story mode in a language I don't understand anything. I am not even a english native speaker but it is not a problem for me. And some people were telling me that I have to play the whole story mode before getting him, I can't. I didn't even finish BBCS EX story mode. I hate when a character get locked with a hard unlocking process.

Like Bibi said, Mu was unlockable by beating the story or paying $2 for an auto-unlock; Kagura will likely be the same.

That said, rushing through story mode shouldn't take more than 3-6 hours.

I believe in CS1 Mu-12 was unlockable through story mode and a less expenssive DLC giving people the two options.

If what you are saying guys is true, then I will pay my preordered japanese copy tomorrow!!! I am so happy I can directly pay for unlocking him. Hopefully it will be same, a charge character with a big sword? I can't wait!!!!

@Chaos To say the truth, I don't have time to play long story modes in general, because like you (I guess), I play so many games and I only play it when I don't know what to do.

I wouldn't mind playing through story mode, but I'd rather do it in a language I understand, so I really hope they do that too.

That would suck if you had to play through the whole story to unlock a character, so hopefully Kagura would have the DLC option, but if you wanted to be able to use Japanese DLC, you would need a Japanese account though. I'm hoping Terumi won't be DLC-only because I don't want to have make a Japanese account.

So, I think I might end up playing this game again. I've been playing +R because I like GG more but it seems really hard to find GG opponents in my area of Japan, while finding BB opponents isn't that hard. And playing against humans is kind of important to getting better. I guess I can keep GG on the backburner until Xrd hits. In GG I play Potemkin but when CP first hit I was messing around with Amane, but I am not sure who to play. I guess the big turn off for me in BB is that I don't really like long combos. I was considering Tager but he really feels like a pale shadow of Potemkin.

So who would you guys say has the shortest combos in CP?

There's no character that has "short combos". Depending on the position of the screen, starter, meter, and OD, every character has the potential to do some really long and damaging combos, even someone like Tager.

From what I've seen, Azrael might fit that bill until he lands a combo with a weakness already applied but even then his combos are not all that short. I guess Arakune has short combos as well until you land a hit during Curse.

All depends on your definition of "short." That said there's always Haku-men who can generally manage to keep his combos short and devastating. In CSE a guy could get away with 7500 damage in four hits (provided corner, mugen, a pinch of fairy dust, and a metric ton of fraudulence.) that said generally long combos are a must for victory, but hey, at least it's not UNIB levels of crazy long combos.

You live in Japan. I wish I lived in Japan. In Japan, all of my Japanese dreams could become reality.

What do you think of UNiB?

You're lazy.

Sooo will this game be released in jpsn the same date as on discs?

It's not even officially stated that it'll be up on JP PSN.

Thanks for the video. Netplay is looking pretty solid in terms of interface and features. The avatars repeatedly jumping at each other when 2 people are fighting at a machine in the world lobby was kind of funny. I wonder what those times you can set in your profile are for. The time of day you usually play I presume.

:kitty:

UNiB?

Edit: Okay, that kind of sucks that the closest central timezone server to me (or perhaps server at all) in CP is going to be in Mexico....what the hell? Why isn't there one in Texas?

Thanks for the video Kurushii. Netplay looks like it's trying/experimenting-with a lot of interesting things. Is there any chance anyone can translate some of the information from the video? A picture can be worth a thousand words, but hearing them is still nice :P

That said, I still feel like we can get a good idea of how it all works. I'm excited for this.

player matches have 4 total options, which are:

対戦・観戦ルーム(1v1/Spectate room): traditional BB player match room

全員乱戦ルーム(Free-for-all room): everyone plays a 1v1 match at the same time

トレーニングルーム(Training room): as the name implies, play training mode with other people

リプレイ鑑賞ルーム(Replay room): watch downloaded replays with others

the rest of the stuff in kurushii's video is pretty easy to figure out.
