gamester Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 You need to be a certain Dan to unlock colours/pallets?
Zoular Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Or maybe you unlock them using the points you gain from playing. Idk
gamester Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Fair enough either way. I'm a little curious about how that works now... Also. Would you all like to see "Tetsuwo" added to the Notable Japanese Rachel Player Rankings in the Video Thread? (Or do you think he'll go back to Jin someday)
kirbster Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 He's already solid and getting better everytime I see him so yeah, add him.
Zoular Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 At first I still look at the name as a Jin player, but then comparing him to the rest of the Rachels on the list I'd say why not.
gamester Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Fair enough. Tetsuwo has now been added to the list of Notable Japanese Rachel Players. Currently 6th place, 15 Dan.
Rhapsody Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Off topic kinda, but anyone that wants to get the LE of BBCP at a decent price can go to cdjapan. They only have a few more in stock but it's 9800 yen there.

They only have a few more in stock but it's 9800 yen there. Good info. I transferred my order from nippon-yasan to cdjapan, since I didn't really have a need for the poster edition (and I need all the money I can save). As long as I get my Rachel nendo, I'm all good.
tofurr Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 dslkfjsdalkfjsa'flkj I don't want to spend a hundo, but I really want that figure. Why can't America get cool things like this? ._. #1stworldproblems
Chaoschao222 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Aksys brought over the Noeldoroid separately, maybe you'll get lucky with the Nendorachel, too.

Tari Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I'll gladly pay $100+ for BBCP and an adorable Rachel Nendoroid. Australian retail prices... :/ Nothing's stopping you from importing it, too. :P
Zoular Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 @Australian prices haha, you guys get those absurd prices all the time... =/ shame
Stoneroth Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Nothing's stopping you from importing it, too. :P Oh, I've already got it on order, don't worry. It was a matter of life and death. :P Australian retail prices are relatively high even though our dollar is pretty much on par with the US. So, $100 doesn't seem that bad at all for me.
tofurr Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I ended up ordering it. It was the last one left, so why not.
gamester Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Don't forget to add your names to the BBCP Import ID thread
kro_ Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Been hearing that Rachel is supposedly S-tier now. Any links to recent tier list discussion (hopefully in English)?
samthegreat Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 No, but many top players put her up there with Valkenhayn, Litchi, Taokaka, Hazama, Hakumen and Jin in the 'characters you should definitely worry about' category (or, according to Jiyuna, 'characters you should pick if you want to have fun' a.k.a bullshit characters). ヴァルケン、タオカカ、ハザマ、レリウス、ライチ、レイチェル、ハクメン辺りを選ぶとストレスなくゲームに参加しやすいです Obviously N-O believes she's S-tier in the right hands and so does Tetsuwo apparently.
TD Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 taken from the cp thread... stuff ja has a 12f startup. 5a has 11f blockstun so ja is -1, 0, or -3 depending on block, barrier, or ib respectively. 5b has 16f blockstun, so ja is +4, +5, and +1 respectively. completely safe. even if it gets repetitive you have to -guess- between a 10f low and 12f overhead. what happens when the foe stops doing ja and does 2b? you eat a heftier combo, that's what happens. the second bit... sorry, but that is just character ignorance. ja is the cornerstone of rachel's rushdown game. no ja = you're not playing rachel right. the existence of a low reward IOH is to bolster the effectiveness of a medium reward 2b and high reward 3c, and to setup. lastly, rachel does not have to deal with many fuzzies, having a short crouching hitbox and all, she actually deals with less (there aren't many fuzzies in bb anyway). l think you're referring to how many rachel specific combos there are, having the fattest otg hurtbox in the game.
Rhiya Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Not gonna lie, I actually just assumed there'd be fuzzies. And that's not how fuzzies work. Fuzzies are your standing hitbox getting nicked by a high move while you're low guarding because you got trapped in the standing block animation somehow. Crouching hitbox has nothing to do with fuzzies. Everything else, well, lolme. Does j.B not even give more reward than j.A to make it worth using instead?
TD Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 jb is in the medium reward category. it is not an IOH but still necessary because it does more damage on people who cant block and still respect the IOH. its also required on hazama, noel, litchi, rachel, sometimes other chars like jin and tao oddly, because IOH doesnt work on them. because it isn't an IOH (and therefore can be disrespected), its used less, but still used. in a general sense rachel can get hit by any fuzzy, like every other character. in terms of setting them up, her small crouchbox gives her a few frames extra to stick a move out than other characters. a negligible amount really but an advantage nonetheless.

I don't know of anyone really having signfiicant fuzzy weaknesses besides tager.
TD Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 tager and haku get the worst of it, followed by relius. ragna also gets fuzzied a little easier than most. come cp, everyone (except maybe rachel herself) gets hit by her IOH - if the character can get hit by that, l assume they'd have have less frames to counter any new or existing fuzzies as well.
TD Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 yay double post kirbster, l watched a little of the monthly mashfest, and l found it interesting that you did ...bbl 214a dash 2b 5b (frog hits) 5cc instead of the standard. but what really surprised me was your use of jc djc bbl, which l didnt know worked on tager windless. l suppose the former combo is to make up for not being able to setup a pole in time after setting the frog?
samthegreat Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) j.A IOH hits everyone in CP, even Rachel and even from 5A. And to be precise, in EX it does work on Jin (and Tao?) but only from 5B. Edited August 7, 2013 by samthegreat
