I just realized, wouldn't it be possible to meaty hakumen with 2c and then cancel into valiant charger/hornet bunker for armor? Since 2c is a hybrid projectile shouldn't it make hakumen's counter blockable and allow you a free armor trap? Theoretically possible with bang as well if he's using D to beat out any pokes too.

Depends on whether it only has projectile properties, I think. If that is the case then it can probably be semi-legit if you predict D mashing, but I would still rather go for 5A\2A.

Okay. So this combo looks gorgeous.

[uW] 5B > 2C > 6D > 6A > 66 > 5A > TCL > BHS = 4.1K

;_;

I can't wait to see the TCL hitbox. It's looking crazy how high you can lift them and still land all 3 Rekkas. 5A Pickups into TCL sound deadly, too.

I would imagine that using drive attacks would be the optimal thing for punishes. You basically get to do a combo as if a weakpoint was already applied.

Let's say you had an upper weakpoint and someone does a random ID or something. Punish with a lower weakpoint move and then use the upper weakpoint to extend it. I'm not 100% sure how well it would work, but I've seen enough drives Ch to suspect that it might be possible.

5C FC is looking like it has some mad hitstun. So I wouldn't mind seeing stuff off that. Especially with a weakpoint.

This, so much. Having a CH while hitting said WP gives immense untech time for immense damage, like at least 3k without meter.

If your opponent already has a WP and did somethign unsafe you can punish it by hitting the WP and then reapplying another WP at the end of the combo. Freaking amazing.

I haven't seen any optimal use for FC combos so far in BB and aren't as important as they were in the CS series.

Kagetsu's 2d punish for not teching is really interesting as well.

2 Questions though:

What does Gomi-kizu mean?

What are the mechanics of Valiant Charge/Hornet Bunker with regards to WP's? I'm not quite sure I understand it yet.

"Gomikuzu ga!" just means "garbage."

Valiant lets you do a special forward dash in which you can freestyle chain normals.

Hornet is the same thing but vertical, akin to the homing jump after a Dust in GG.

I guess I should be more clear. You only get the kick-ass superdash/superjump effect if the weakpoint is already applied. If there are no weakpoints, then those moves will apply a weakpoint, Valiant of course applying upper and Hornet applying lower. I don't know exactly what properties they have on-hit without a weakpoint, but there's definitely no follow-up combo to Valiant without a weakpoint. I'm not sure if Hornet launches without a weakpoint or not, or if you can even combo off it after that.

If it's alright with Zeth, I'd love to help out with the combo thread after the JP release. I've got HD recording equipment and some experience with that sort of thing. I already offered to do the same thing for Hakumen.

It really would be helpful to be able to link the main bnbs to a clip showing how they're supposed to look. Something like that would have been helpful for me when I was starting out.

By all means you can do whatever you want. Just realize there are already 2 BnB combo videos for Azrael.

So videos of BnB combos might not be needed. Instead I'd personally rather see more of a "character breakdown/strategies" kind of video. I have recording equipment myself to do it but anyone can feel free to make videos if it adds to the character information. I half expect the Japanese players to make a video like that before we even get the game though.

Azrael looking mad strong. The hitstun on Gustaf buster CH is easily enough to land 5BB > TCL for like 2.5K and Carry. Awesome Neutral tool for something so "Risk free"
