Looks about the same to me. It's mabe because of the aspect ratio, this is the first wide screen native Guilty Gear game. The only thing I'm concerned is that time slow on RCs and YRCs, I hope it won't break the flow of the game in neutral play.

As I'm sure the videos will be taken down in no time (and I'm at work so I can't watch em boo), anyone ripping them?

Yup.

Thanks for the info elven, I'm really curious to see Ky's new 3hs. So I'm guessing you can't do 2d>214d>stuff correct? Because I've read that 214d OTG's

I'm interested in more general impressions of xrd. Are you enjoying it? How is the pace etc? Is it something you could see yourself playing for the next however many years?

If anyone who is still able to get to the loketests could check, does Slayers pilebunker cause any stun? Does CH Pile lead to instant stun combos, or does it act differently on CH than it does on #R (bounces off the wall so you can usually do c.S>f.S>air combos into stun)? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Sol and Ky don't have a special intro together!? Boo.....

It's a loketest, there's never any fancy intros during loketest. The main aim of a loketest is to properly balance the game and make it fun for everyone, not to make it pretty. ArcSys has a good reputation for gaming their games pretty with good music and awesome fight intros, even BBCP during loketests didn't have special intros, and look at the chalk ton of intros the game has now.

That's probably about as high on their list of priorities as new voiceover lines or new BGM, which is not that high at all. Which, of course, doesn't mean that it's not going to be done sooner or later.

Game is still in early development.

I also second this question.

True true, they have disappointed me yet! It makes me wonder though, with all these things on their to do list, how the hell are they gonna release the complete game in 2014? Hate to say it, but I'm feeling delays are inevitable or atleast in this day and age in gaming I'm coming to expect it.

Well, look at it this way: between the two loketests, there have been some changes made besides the balance updates and new character additions. We now have a revamped clashing system, those achievement thingies, a whole new mechanic... It's just that they've been prioritized so ASW can actually test them, see how it goes and make further adjustments based on the gathered data. Would you rather concentrate your time and effort on the features that require testing or on BGM and individual VS intros that might as well never see the light of loketests until the arcade release?

So I read a few questions and I will get to them all in due time. Its late and im drunk and ready to go to bed. But the one that stood out that I need to answer now is, "I'm interested in more general impressions of xrd. Are you enjoying it? How is the pace etc? Is it something you could see yourself playing for the next however many years?"

Simply put, yes. I have enjoyed playing the game and feel very privileged to be one of the first people (at least among non-Japanese) to play what will most likely be a huge staple in the FGC for years to come. This is the Street Fighter IV of Guilty Gear... and I do not mean that in a negative way. We all know that when you get down to it SFIV is pretty watered down compared to most of the older SF games. What I mean comparison wise is, just like SF, this is the game that is going to bring new life to the scene. This is the game that is going to bring in new blood and a fresh desire for competition... and at the same time, (hopefully) rally all of the old GG heads and bring them back into the scene. I saw lots of old school Japanese players at the loketest that I have not seen in years because they either moved on to different games or stopped playing... but they came to play Xrd and they will keep playing Xrd. The thing is... this game is going to be legit. There are some minor complaints and issues that are justified, but when you get down to it, this is fucking Guilty Gear. The game feels like I am playing Guilty Gear. Now that Faust is finally in the game, I really feel like I was able to compare it with older GG games. I still feel like I am playing GG and I still am definitely enjoying it. I am not going to pretend like there are not negatives aspects of the game, but overall the game is a lot of fun and I honestly think that the developers know what they are doing. They are obviously trying to make it a bit more accessible but they also know their core fan base (hell... Pachi is an old school SBO champion) and so simply put... coming from someone who has played GG since GGX, this is a proper continuation of the series and I am sure you will all enjoy it (unless your character doesnt make it in and you just pout and be salty).

So yea, lets rock.

Awesome Elven, thanks for all of your impressions! I'm so hyped for the game, I can't wait to see it over here in the States.

Justice won't be in. Nor will nuke glitch. Game's gonna suck hard.

Im not going to lie if Jam doesn't make it in I'm going to be salty as hell. I have a good feeling she will make it in the game through.

Man I gotta have my Jam fix. Though in the worst case I'll at least have Milia, but I am not yet worried. I must admit I'm rooting harder for the ABA players out there, even though I play Jam and not her.

(Though if ABA gets in and Jam doesn't, I'm not sure I would be able to continuing existence as a human with sound moral compass and judgement towards other humans in existence :3 )

This makes me more than happy to hear, while I've played GG since X, and played AC for 2 years and got back into it, I am much more encouraged to teach people Blazblue than GG. Simply because there are so many mechanics one must get a grasp of, in addition to learning the metagame and playing your character effectively in accordance to matchups. Depth shouldn't always mean complexity in me books.

I'd like to hear more about these negative aspects personally.

So yea, lets rock.

Thanks for the post elven.

I wouldn't be surprised if is about stuff like x character not being there yet to using GGXX#R as a base (i am still annoyed tbh)

Of course there could be some stuff like mechanical choices that some people don't like, or aesthetic stuff as well.

If Ky can lose his hair band, then maybe Sol can too...it'd be Missing Link Sol all over again. :D

Someone beat the crap out of Sol to see if it can be done. (Also answer my older questions maybe?)

I hope there is a way to start matches without the ponytail now that we know this can happen to Ky. I so hope that isn't just for Ky, It would be nice if Millia could lose the license plate hat even though I like it.
