interesting. thanks for the back and forth on that. just not expecting much if any Bedman vs Ram footage so i thought i'd theory craft how she'd be pressuring him to find a way out lol

in this video koichi plays ramlethal in the way i think she probably ought to be played: running away, setting up swords to be annoying, zoning with j.d (i think thats what the multi-directional air move is?) and her fireball, fishing for random counter hits off swords etc.

 

its pretty cool and its kinda unique to xrd which has been pretty rushdown-centric.

 

it looks like its  hard for her to get a reasonable combo at midscreen off a non-counter hit.

Zoning... sounds like dizzy, or axl.... but other than that ima be excited to see what setups are going to be created

Anthony, are you going to keep your promise when the game comes out to tell your lady mode the month lock in training? If so I will come visit you then for training as well.

She has moved to France so I doubt that will be a problem(where I am at the moment, though just until mid may. I'm totally down with the month training though.

I played the new build today against Ramlethal a bit and also tried her out a little.  I am pleased to announce that Faust can crouch-walk under her giant beam super. 

 

Boo! HISS! No fair, he should be getting a face full of mythic laser goodness like everyone else. Well, maybe excluding Zato-1 considering he can do that move where he disappears into the ground. What about Ramlethal's Transhi (spinning sword overdrive)? Can Faust crouch-walk under that too?

Definitely seems very 'shades of Bridget', at least so far. It'll be interesting to see what the 'optimal' gameplan for Rammy is gonna be. I saw a couple players choosing to set 1 sword and keep one for sword normals/ counter poking and keeping the other for screen control/ oki. While others set both swords and try to set up some double sword corner juggles. Ram seems very... multipurpose, lol.

Hey people, I didn't followed a lot the game since the early weeks and I was wondering how the gameplay was evolving? I remember reading somewhere that YRC were not a good idea after all, or with some problems related to option selects, or things like that ? Can someone help me sum what's going on in the game?

the whole YRC thing is all subject to someones own opinion. personally, i think its a good mechanic. but obviously some see it as not.

what do you mean by sum up, though? it's a little vague to answer atm. all i'll say is its developed pretty well, not just living through #R style but going the way of its own. its always evolving atm,though.

Sorry about not being very specific. I watched the game too, and saw that, in my opinion and little knowledge of the game, and think that some characters are great evolution of their #R versions (like Chipp, Venom, Eddie) and others are not very interesting (Sol, Faust...). I watched some matches where they were starting to "get" the blitz shield in use too, bit since you can't do it from the gard position, you can't get out of the new eddie setups that were found out a few days ago. That's the kind of information I search : are the new mechanics working as intended, what are the flaws that were noticed. Things like that.

So far the best gameplay I have seen of Valentine, unlike with Bedman Koichi seems to go well with her (although that Sol was really not much good), I believe this character will become in the end more useful in Overdrives than RC, too bad though with one of them, which now only clashes in the opponent until it gets in the corner, unlike in Boss state when it was more like a boomerang.

 

Regarding the Dizzy stuff, probably she will come soon or later, in the arcade ending of Sol Ky mentioned someone as "she", and I can't only think if it's not her it could be Sharon, but I doubt so, most likely because it's seems like she is always present with Slayer, or maybe could even be that member of the Senate (Libraria if I remember well?), only for the fact she seems not so sure about controlling the power of the Backyard as the best possible option unlike the other two, though I really believe she mentioned Dizzy, it could be cool to have one traitor in the ranks.

Koichi now does real setups unlike with his bedman ;w; i guess he wasnt destined for bedman greatness.

Samitto is really good at using blitz shield defensively, i feel. and yeah the new re-stand stuff really does wonders for Zato so far, no one else really has good tech off it yet that really wows. but yeah #R was a building block for characters, but this version is definitely more of its own unique feel with YRC giving so much more freedom, guts getting buffed pretty much and other things. i feel like while some saw it as "#R with pretty graphics' its blossomed, and is still blossoming more and more as a deep and unique version itself.

Can Faust no longer lose the shell game?

 

I never saw any one pick the angel successfully until today but then it morphed into a reaper anyways . . .

 

Oh . . . later on in the vid the angel goes though . . . so does it change if the Super lands as a Reversal or can Faust manipulate the odds some other way? I thought it was Counter at first, but both times were counter hit.
