(i'm too lazy to measure pixels) for reference, the strongest guts modifier in +R is 36%. is hellfire mode like awakening in terms of defense modifiers? this might have been answered already but 760pg thread :| HF makes your supers do more damage, I don't know if it does anything else.

It also looks like it allows opponents to get a bonus screen freeze if they IK-activate after an RC against you. I am much more afraid of BS still.

I actually liked the old IK system over BB's AHs because landing one was far more difficult since you could not combo into it... Maybe it'll make up for how dumb guts is right now though?

I think the screen freeze for the IK occurs when the opponent is hellfire and you are at 50%, so perhaps it will be used for things like punishes at that level of health. Still, it's the last 10% of health, not some xfactor shit up in here.

Point is, if you have the heeavy starter that you need to combo into IK and you have 50 tension, you should be able to do 20% damage in this game with any regular combo so IKs won't enable anything new and gamebreaking.

Final Ultima Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Because Yellow Roman Cancel and Purple Roman Cancel have start-up frames, it's possible to hit the buttons to Roman Cancel right before a projectile connects so that you get a Yellow Roman Cancel, but by the time the super freeze kicks in, the projectile has traveled enough to put the opponent in hitstun or blockstun. I don't know if this could potentially extend to other situations, but there you have it.

Hintalove Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 We don't have the hard frame data yet, but I'm working on the assumption that yrc frames are from start to last frame before active frames begin, and the red purple window begins there. You can yrc projectiles and have them come out and hit, but there is no situation where a move would combo and still have a yrc window. You can however do yrcs in resets and guard strings. An example would be ky doing a string that ends in f.s and canceling fs into cse. He could get the yrc because his opponent will leave block stun before the cse yrc point to yrc it so the projectile comes out, allowing him to continue pressure.
SuperJ Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 elvenshadow mentioned earlier that you can attack little eddie with a normal and yrc, which implies some (if not all?) of the active frames are yrc'able. did someone theorize blitz shield == guard impact way back when? i think i saw someone's air attack getting shielding. and then that someone shielded back while he was still reeling midair
