It's that bad? I mean, I knew she was barely able to hold a candle to the rest of the cast but this? I didn't think ASW could top themselves but they made a character worse than CS1 Rachel. Congrats.

A new version of P4U2 was confirmed at the end of the Taito tournament.

 

Team TSB (Chie and Teddie) were the winners, in the end.

I wouldn't say that they made a character weaker than CS1 Rachel.  It's just that Rachel went from strong to weak while Liz went from weak to even weaker.

Not really what I meant by worse (should'da specified). I meant that Lizzie is in a worse situation now than that of even CS1 Rachel. Rachel at least had troopers that were willing to go through her darkest hour no matter what. Lizzie has people abandoning ship left and right.

This. A myriad times this.Come on ASW, you can do so much better with her. It can't be THAT hard to give her something resembling a fighting chance. Note that I am saying "fighting chance" as opposed to "make her top-tier candidate" (though I certainly wouldn't mind some love in the latter *hinthintnudgenudge).

 

Aside from the winners and new version, was there anything else of import?

New version is nice. The game was starting to look really kuso. I wouldn't hold your breath for any massive changes, but it could be great for the game.

 

Disclaimer: I would love for guys to talk about it, but please be reasonable and and not super speculative. I'd rather not have to prune a ton of super useless posts -_-

Just a ton of good, high level footage. When somebody uploads it make sure you get to watch. I saw a ton of silly stuff I don't get to see often from a few characters, even some new stuff popped up.

This is a term I saw used multiple times in the UNiB board so I'd like some clarification: what exactly does "kuso" mean for a fighting game (or any game for that matter)? I mean I know the word is Japanese for "garbage" or, perhaps more indignant, "crap" but what makes a game designated with the "kuso" stigma? Is it character balance, or mechanics or just plain gameplay overall? I'm really curious as to how P4U2 could have come to such a state or what the reasons behind that might be.

クソゲーム (kusoge) = shitty game, basically. It just means that the game is "broken" in some fashion, or that there's really overpowering things. A good example of a kusoge is Marvel 3 (or UNiB's first version, as you said).

Both sound rather inaccurate. The actual story's going to be in the console version, like always; this isn't some sequel. But this is probably going to be bigger than the previous three arcade updates that have happened before, which were mostly comprised of bug fixes (with some significant stuff at times like 1.01 bringing Persona Sho).

This will probably be like CP 1.1, a bunch of changes because a lot of the balancing choices in P4U2 (as of right now) are pretty bad.

It was never terrible. It might be slightly in Elizabeth's favor but as an Aki player, it's pretty even in my opnion.

 

She controls more space than Aki and he'll have to play very carefully in neutral. If he gets past that, she... can't do much, honestly. Aki's damage/mixup is too strong for her to deal with.

Labrys is different from Elizabeth, though. Whereas Liz apparently got overly nerfed, Labrys is actually somewhat better overall than in the first game. The reason she's considered worse in this version is a combination of her frame data nerfs with the buffs the top tier characters and a few high ones got outweighing what she gained.

The MU is even if you know how to play it as an Aki player. He has ways of dealing with her tools if he's patient, and his pressure is better than hers. Aki can even OS Liz's DP, apparently (never learned how to use that OS, myself). This matchup is more or less based around who does the most damage first, as they pretty much get to just run their game until the other character gets KO'd.
