You mean emergency exit sign

I'd count it as that if it weren't for the colors. Black/grey/blue is a pretty iconic set of colors with that symbol

Am I going completely crazy, or are his underwears showing ?

I'm more interested in what his underwear says. "Go PHF" ? I'm probably reading it wrong, but does that have any special meaning? Maybe it's a clothing brand like Riot, but maybe it's some hilarious reference to something. I mean, it's on Zappa's underwear. How could they not put a joke there?

Not really.

It's a common sign to se in many colors (you can find grey ones in the airport, just to name one), and i also think that has became a sort of meme between the japanese third strike players some years ago, but I may be wrong.

Uh... bro the blue parts of the design are like placeholders, look at the colors at the right, there's a little blue square over one of these, means they haven't decided what to use, or something like that.

EDIT: Meant colors at the left not right.

People see what they want to see, like how people thought it was a Portal reference when games had cake in them.

He took his fashion advice from Kokonoe.

He's always worn his underwear on the outside of his outfit.

I still can't get over the fact we got an OutRage Lightbulb off a Pachinko Machine....... *facepalm*

I was expecting the Senga to be a sword...

This comment is everything I was gonna say, lol.

I didn't even think of Portal when I saw it, it's clearly the international exit sign the use of which.. I don't wanna say it's necessarily a meme in Japan but it's used frequently for symbolic purposes, often to creepypasta effect from what I've seen, for some reason.

Reposting here for anyone curious not checking the Xrd thread, since it specifically pertains to this, apparently new/separate, game:

Aaaand here it is:

http://p.twipple.jp/hPReG

Yamanaka announcing "Guilty Gear Vastedge" officially. From what I can tell, 'Story scenario written under Ishiwatari's supervision', and 'music by Ishiwatari' included. (Correct me actual Japanese speakers if I'm reading this wrong, please!)

Of course, since it's Pachinko, we'll never get it............

Just posting it here in case some people haven't seen it yet.

Oh cool, the site's up! Looking at the scenario images they have up so far, it's a shame we can't see them directly so I hope somehow we'll get videos, or something. It looks like they're possibly using the same animation method for these? I'm not quite sure, it looks different but similar in different shots. Either way it looks really nice.

Looking at this page for example: http://d-light777.jp/machine/slot_guilty/notice02.html

I wonder if there's new voiceacting in it, too, if there's music...

I keep seeing this "ART" in capital english letters around the pages, so can someone tell what these pages say about it?

Looks like Ano Otoko is officially translated as The Man, potential Engrish slip-ups aside.

Just skimming through it. I don't know anything about pachislot, but one thing I can clearly make out is that the new guy with the trenchcoat and Cerberus snake-blades is named Bardius (バルディウス).

The "ART" thing seems to be a pachislot thing. It's apparantly like a bonus screen you can get while playing. In this case, it seems like you can trigger special battles ("Heaven or Hell", "Bardius Battle", etc.).

Here's a video tutorial explaining ART for the Biohazard pachislot game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K8ZhbmOW9w

My thoughts exactly... Are we really going to find some details about the story from the pachinko?

All I want to know is if this ties with Xrd and how.

is the jacket sol wears here the same his Xrd dragon install uses?

Maybe the OP can change the title to "Guilty Gear Vastedge Concept Art" or something more descriptive.

Done. Summary and original file DL link included in first post.

After going through the official website and from what i know of these slot machines, from watching people play while at Tokyo. It seems that you play as Sol with Sin at your side, going around as bounty hunters. This is obviously setting off from right after Overture, Sol's jacket is similar to his artwork outfit in Overture. You toss in coins (in their case, it's small chips, like gambling chips used in casinos) to keep the slots turning, with every matching combination, the scenario progresses.

So.... From the looks of it, it sounds like a filler between Overture and Xrd. (Did Xrd take place a year after Overture?)

Sin is slated to be 6 in Vastedge, where as he was 5 in Overture. That Man would have probably gained an interest in Sin after the whole incident with Valentine and want to capture him.

My friend and i spent the afternoon discussing the possibility of That Man spreading a rumor or even setting up a bounty for the person possessing Senga to lure Sol and Sin into a trap.

In short, it's like the Bounty Hunting Adventures of Sol and Sin.

Official storyline has to be from ArcSys' Yamanaka, the slot machine site probably won't have anything else related.

All I want to know is if this ties with Xrd and how.

Noteworthy.

Pretty similar.

Seems like the Xrd designs are simplified versions of the Pachislot designs, maybe for performance reasons?

EDIT: I just noticed Millia has guns here, what the hell

So THAT MAN is now THE MAN?.

Welp, to be fair, his song in Overture is also titled The Man. But again, Engrish, and iirc all actual translations of GG correct it to 'That', so...

All I want to know is if this ties with Xrd and how.

It's actually slightly different from what I can tell of Xrd's but it is the one (and actually his entire outfit is the same as) he's wearing in all the pre-Overture art, for example his story illustration the Overture artbook (http://www.zerochan.net/301053) as Tenjin pointed out, and several artbook covers.

Thanks for the explanation of the story stuff/translations, Tenjin. Makes sense for it to be between Overture and Xrd, now if we could just get them delicious story deets... :v:

Man, this all looks pretty awesome so far, but damn does it seem like a waste on a pachislot game, especially since they're a pain in the ass to progress through . . .
