On the subject of Nu, it feels weird to see her doing 4K confirms meterless and midscreen. I feel like that kinda damage runs counter to what a zoner character is supposed to be, but that's just her being outside my schema, not anything particularly wrong I guess.

This wasn't a foreign concept to Nu. She can do a 4k meterless midcreen confirm in CP 1.1. It's a lot tougher to do than in 2.0, but she still had it. The confirm is easier to do in 2.0. I think it's like 2B > 2C > 214D or TK j.214[D]. In 1.1 it was like 2B > 3C > 22A > 3C > gravity. The 1.1 version does more damage, however the 2.0 version is a lot more consistent.

Btw, has Nu broken off from the S-tiers then and become her own tier since mAc mentioned it?

Does koko get nerfed in 2.0? Seems a lot of people are carried by her in this game.

Yea. Her Gravitons got nerfed along with other things

every player will be able to tap 85% of it tho bro. I think I am going to do either valk or nu, I just don't know which atm.  nu is the perfect tier whore choice for this game, but I'm sure she's gonna get nerfed hard in the next version.

Valk tho. Yeah. He's got the scumbag stuff I was going for with Rachel but better and easier neutral and never any critically bad matchups. No real matchup incompatibilities outside of Litchi...

...and Tao....and Carl......

From the looks of of it, all she has is somewhat decent normals and damage. Her pressure is laughably basic and her defensive options are very flawed. She's essentially just shitty Ragna.

Her defensive options don't look that flawed. While she lacks a true meterless dp (since it's invul starts at frame 4 or 5), she still looks to have a decent backdash (probably better than the Murakumo's backdash distance and speedwise, not sure on the invul frames) and her reversal that cost meter looks safe on block

She does seem to play as a shittier Ragna because her gameplay looks pretty basic

This is what I alluded to earlier. Celica went from one end of the spectrum of broken to the other in less than 3 weeks.

It's still early ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah, well, it's not like Celica is this deep, complicated character that has a lot of space to grow: the fact that she's so basic is exactly why everyone considers her weak this soon. Even Tager is constantly getting new tech discovered, but he at least has the mechanics to derive it from.

um, Celica was never broken. It was only people in this thread making a big fuss about her loketest damage, which got toned down in the final release. Not that her damage output was ever enough reason to consider her broken to begin with.

Apparently I need to put this in context for some people.

In the general opinion of most players, Celica was declared overpowered and less than a month later viewed as quite the opposite by those exact individuals, despite not many (if any) have played CP2 at all.

All I'm implying is that it's too soon to throw around stuff like that.

and you are overstating it.

of course if she is just crapping out 7k in loketest people will worry after koko

I think people need to stop judging things before people even get their hands on something. Some characters look good/bad, but the most important thing is how well you can work with them.

And people determining who is broken based on certain match videos is ridiculous. I've watched a crapton of Nu videos so far and determined that 80% of all Nu's confirms were because the opponent didn't block an attack anyone else with a brain would. Put yourself into either player's position and think about controlling the flow of defense.

For a nu player its easy to see how to block nu.

The same applies to any character with beyond basic mixup. (Valk, Tao, Rachel, Relius, Carl, ect...)

Like I said, there was never any general opinion that Celica was overpowered in the final version of the game. Only the loketest. I get the point you're trying to make. I'm just trying to say that Celica was never broken at the start of CP2's lifespan and it's a bad example to prove your point. CP 1.1 Kokonoe is a better example in my opinion. When 1.1 first came out, people still thought she was an undisputed god but then months went by and people started properly learning the matchup. Soon after, they started putting other characters like Valk up in her tier as well (Or maybe it's more accurate to say she came down to their tier).

Who's talking about match videos? From what I've read in the last few pages, the only thing people have been talking about is JP player impressions and tier lists. There's also Errol's posts, though from what I understand, he's currently in Japan playing CP2? Well, it's as close to getting live impressions on the matter as they're going to get so I think it's worth them talking about. Also, maybe you should think more about why 80% of the time people are getting opened up for "Not blocking" instead of just claiming people are dumb, especially since I highly doubt this is the first time all these players are facing off against a Nu. Maybe, just maybe, there's more to CP2 Nu's pressure than you're giving credit for. I also understand the point you're trying to make but insulting the JP player base is DEFINITELY not the way to go about making your point. Treat people with a little more respect please.

I watched a lot of videos of people STANDING at neutral and get hit with Nu's 5D. I also watch people tech and get hit by Delay Crescent. Nu doesn't have unseeable mixup. People just don't block as much as they should.

Just take a look at the results this Evo, great defense and understanding won those matches.

The Japanese player base is just like any other: people who aren't perfect and can make mistakes. They don't usually play at a higher level or lower level than we can play.

If someone gets mixed up by Crescent Sabers or hit by Nu's 4D/236D, then that is legitimate pressure. When two people go close quarters and press a button and one person wins the trade ofd, that is legitimate. When a person gets hit by a RAW Charged Spike Chaser, you can go burn in a ditch.

Unfortunately the videos you've watched are only about 5% of the total matches played. It doesn't speak for the whole.

So you didn't have a problem with 1.0 Koko?

I probably played about 50 CP/CP 1.1 matches in total, I got rekt by Kaguras more than Kokos lol.

Posted

And a good portion of match videos posted are tournament level or notably higher level matches.

I understand the character is strong, but let's take a lot at how last week, everyone was calling Jin and Ragna bullshit and today, no one is even talking about them. Azrael barely gets touched and everyone drops the character. People are way too flakey and get too scared.

Koko was retarded powerful, but if you don't want to understand and adapt, you will never beat them like all of the top 8 at Evo did. If you actively go on this site, follow and play this game, you are in the top 20% of the playerbase. Don't view things as so limited.
