greatfernman Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 1.1 wasn't so much of a patch, most characters didn't change at all or just slightly. http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=BlazBlue:_Chrono_Phantasma_1.10_patch_notes pls
Errol Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 If your character was already top tier then most likely you have issues with 2.0 (tons of nerfs). If said character was not then most likely you enjoy 2.0 (tons of buffs). Ppl just have mixed feeling for obvious reasons. Yeah this isn't accurate. you imply they made the balance better because 'if you were top tier you don't like it, if you weren't you do'. but not true. much of top tier stayed top tier and much of bottom stayed bottom. and not just a matter of my char is better or worse = how i feel.
MoneyD90 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 My bad if it came off as if I'm saying the balance is some perfect world. However, the issues seem to be coming from characters that were nerfed. Ie. Rachel, litchi, azreal. All very strong characters and characters like Tager,Ragna,Makoto are all ready for some 2.0 action today. Basically, tops are still good but no longer wtf good. So saying everyone is not liking 2.0 does not sound right IMO. Edit: in no way am I saying ragna or tager were ever bad. But based on what's going on in there forums they look very ready to play 2.0

So saying everyone is not liking 2.0 does not sound right IMO. Edit: in no way am I saying ragna or tager were ever bad. But based on what's going on in there forums they look very ready to play 2.0 That's because I am basically forbidden from bitching about my character in this thread, but screw that. As a Tsubaki main, I am negative hype for 2.0 because her damage went up a bit and they basically removed any purpose for her drive at all. (Yay! I can use a stock to get 250 extra damage!) I exagerate slightly, but I would rather play a Tsubaki who is slightly less good, but at least doesn't basically do the exact some combo every time. (Something -> DP -> 236A whiff -> etc.) If you're going to make a character with a drive that fills up little magic bars, you would expect those bars to be good for something, and yet, somehow, they're even LESS good this time out. So I have a character that has moved from "pretty bad tier" to "sortof okay tier" at the cost of going from "Reasonably interesting tier" to "More boring than Ragna" tier. So no, stop pretending that "if your character was bad in 1.1, you are hype for 2.0" (And honestly, considering, I don't see too many characters who were tops in 1.1 who aren't still tops in 2.0, so I don't think there's a lot of ground for stating the reverse either.) Did SOME characters get changes that will result in their player bases being excited for 2.0? Probably. Do those character correlate with the 1.1 tier list particularly? No, not really. Also, sorry Ached, but the removal of Nu's 4B was instantly overcompensated for by the dramatically reduced startup on 4D. Any other changes would OBVIOUSLY have propelled her upwards, but they went ahead with them anyway.
D.R.F. Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I've seen someone playing xrd like once. bb still has people at the arcades for sure. It's definitely still a fun game*. *Not against Nu It differs for arcade shop. Mikado is still GG central, but yea it seems like a lot of people are intimidated by the players in Xrd
StylisH Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Well. I'll just say that it seems a bit early to crucify the update and/or characters. People hopping on bandwagons in fighting games is not a new concept. Patience is a virtue.
MoneyD90 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 What StylisH said. Let's wait till we can all play it before we say the game is dead or the greatest thing ever or whatever. I bet more changes will come and new tech. Will change opinions.
bakahyl Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 On the subject of this current topic Small announcement for those that haven't heard already. Garireo has quit BB - So if you see a lack of showing from him. Y'know.... Yeah.... RIP. He just couldn't handle it. Idk the True Details. Word around has said. he didn't like CP2 litchi he didn't like the Litchi vs Nu-13 MU he just snapped (also snapping his nesica card) he just cba to play BB no more. But yeah. No idea whats true. Stories flying everywhere. Bottom line...He quit. Its sad to lose a fellow litchi. Hopefully he'll come back in 2.1 or 2.5 or BB: ContinuumXRD or something. We still have Puromete / Kikuchiyo / Air / Mio / Osaka
mAc Chaos Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I figured he just retired because he got his huge winnings.
Angry Guy of DE Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 That EVO champ curse still going strong. The more we hear of changes not being good and more we hear of people going to Nu is not good.
RWA Announcer Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Are we talking in general Angry, since it could also apply to Street Fighter, or something else specific with Blazblue? Sad to hear such negative reception, since this is the series that got me into AirDashers, and I'm legitimately excited for Noel buffs, Azrael changes, who honestly looks better to me here, since his bad matches took a larger tumble, trying out Nu, since I never played CT, and above all else, FINALLY having Lambda back properly! Such a shame, since I love 1.1 right now as it is.

Mumm-Ra Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I guess that the third rebalance is always the worse when it comes to blazblue games, CSE, CP2. CR when?

mAc Chaos Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I guess that the third rebalance is always the worse when it comes to blazblue games, CSE, CP2. CR when? Extend was the most balanced one.
StylisH Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Extend was the most balanced one. Agreed. It wasn't perfect, but character balance was on point. Hell, outside of Tao/Valk vs Tager, no matchup was unwinnable. And I believe that in was the version where no one was considered OP.
Zeromus_X Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Are we remembering the same Extend here? I remember that game being quite the kusoge. Valk/Rags/Mu/Haku stupid damage off everything, Arakune unreactable crossups into death or guard break setup etc. Guard primers in general were awful in that game; you lost them for defensive bursting or guard cancelling, so it felt like you were being punished for trying to use your defensive options. I found CS2 much more balanced, and fun except when you were playing against Noel or Makoto But oh well, opinions.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 From what I'm seeing, most of the negativity is centered mostly around Nu being too strong and some characters getting "unnecessary" nerfs am I right?
Luminos564 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 When people are talking about CP2.0 Nu are they comparing her to vanilla Kokonutz or 1.1 Kokonoe? I admit I haven't been following CP2.0 much lately (hype just died down) but I find it odd that Nu would come back with a vengeance. I was betting more on Amane being secretly dirty OP and Lamb-chops being a monster.

I found CS2 much more balanced, and fun except when you were playing against Noel or Makoto But oh well, opinions. Except for a few, everyone was pissing damage in Extend. A lot of characters had silly options and gimmicks. I didn't much like guard primers either, but it did make you think twice before bursting after a 2A confirm (which you see a lot of in CP). Again, it was certainly flawed, but it was more balanced and fun IMO.
Stellarcircle5 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I still don't understand why people didn't drop BB when 1.0 Kokonoe was a thing. Sure, Nu is dumb. But dropping the game (In which you play a solid fucking character) entirely is an absolute joke. I don't understand people sometimes.

But dropping the game (In which you play a solid fucking character) entirely is an absolute joke. I don't understand people sometimes. Well beyond Nu being dumb. honestly, I feel the game has gotten really boring as of late. It's been a year and there just haven't been much major changes to the overall system aside from a few move tweaks here and there, and the addition of two characters apparently aren't even that good. It's just...the game was hype last year when we were still exploring new things, but I think all of the interesting things about it have been exhausted. In the past year, we've gotten Xrd, UNiEL, P4U2, and Dengeki; two of these games are still relatively new and fresh, one is getting another balance patch that looks a hell of a lot more interesting, and the final is the console version of a long awaited revival. CP2 just looks dull by comparison honestly. I'm still gonna play it, but I'll probably focus one of the games I just listed and play this casually.

"This game has been out for like 12 months! And they've only changed it a LITTLE! It's old and boring now! I'm gonna go play some super unbalanced screwy games that no one will be playing in 3 months." Seriously? These games aren't that shallow.
Synyster17 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 people don't like bb now IMO cause they changed alot of fun stuff. AZ TCL wall bounce. Litchi oki. Koko everything lol. The top tiers aren't that exciting ETC. 1.1 was fun and for the most part balanced IMO. can we put that game back in the arcade. nobody is really playing anime in the arcades it's kind of in a down phase in JP arcades. http://ask.fm/jiyunajp/answer/121136182049
9:02 PM Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Errol, can you elaborate on your statement that Celica is trash? From the videos I've seen recently people seem to be doing much better with her.
