Shiori and Seifer serve as antagonists (with the former doing a heel-turn); hell, even Shiori joins Team Remix Heart for the duration of the manga. Chacha ends up being the one who reveals to everyone that Mai is male, and it'd be stupid to not have her when Shiori is in, since the both of them are partners in crime. Taro is important to Remix Heart since he forms the romantic subplot with Mai, not to mention that he had a special mention in CP, and a minor cameo in the other BB manga. He also get's quite a lot of screentime in RH

Maybe she could taste her opponent and then get something similar to super armor to simulate her having knowledge of and being able to predict and evade her enemy's attacks? However the fact that she is the protagonist of a spinoff manga, will be appearing in BBCSEX and the fact that a phone strap modelled on her has been produced along with Noel and Celica (two important and playable characters), makes it seem pretty likely to me that she will be made playable in the next game. This is also supported by the fact that Mori has produced a design for her at the time the games take place and that we find out in CP that her noble house is the only one that didn't ally itself with Kagura, giving her a reason to get involved in the story. She could use her power by tasting her opponent's blood, say off one of her blades. She was able to read Shiori's memories by tasting her blood, so there's no need for Mai to kiss or lick her opponent.
Arcus Diabolus Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I wish she could copy somehow. I know that she can't actually mimic anything, only project it onto someone else, but for that to be a playable feature, we would need a team system of some kind, like in MVC3 or something.

And no this is not a recent trend in fighting games, its been around for a very long time. In tekken and soul calibur for example

In tekken and soul calibur for example Double doesn't really qualify under that criteria. Sure, a good portion of her normals are visually identical in animation to the rest of the cast's characters (minus the DLC ones like Squiggly, Big Band, Eliza etc.) but even then they have different properties. Her specials and BBs (Block Busters) are ALL her own flair. Weapon Master she ain't, that's for certain.

Mai lost the ability to copy and transfer abilities to other people near the end of her manga, so I don't see that coming into play. what if she turns out to be a weapons master and copies normals and special moves from other characters? you know that sort of trend has been getting popular recently. This isn't an ability that Mai ever displayed in the source material, so it seems pretty unlikely to me. The fighting techniques she used are ones she had been trained in while at the Hazuki family.

"I see BB had a huge turnout last year and had one of the most hype grand finals that we ever had, but we need both smash games and two unreleased games that no one will have any practice with for no particular reason, so BB will just have to sit this one out." I was planning on going this year, too. No BB kinda shoots down my primary reason for going.
