  1. Wiser words, seldom spoken. Maybe I should sig this one next. :P
  2. Well, I'll try to be there as early as I can, but it's unlikely to be MUCH before 7.
  3. 8:30 huh? Well, I'm probably going to be there around 7ish.
  4. What is it with people being scared of Somerville? o.o That's just super weird to me. Somerville hasn't been a sketchy neighborhood in decades. I dunno what Game Over's age policy is, but it IS in a bar.
  5. When you say "BB" you mean "the game" or the "console+game"? :P
  6. I've definitely got an extra stick.
  7. Considering that Blade Super is far and away our best "standard" super, this could be pretty awesome. Or it could suck. =/
  8. So, last call for anyone to step up and ensure we have a BB setup? Or has everyone forsaken me for UNIB?
  9. Yeah; There's definitely a sense of "playing loose" that is really valuable. I think over time (in a given session) my play tends to get more rigid and generally worse.
  10. So... Arc Sys royally F-ing up on the latest new character is somehow NOT proof that they should stop with the onslaught of new characters already? IMHO, this game is about where it needs to be in terms of roster. Too many more and it becomes unmanagable.
  11. I don't think there is any hitbox data for CP, unfortunately. Extend had full hitbox data, but to my knowledge, no one has ripped the CP Hitboxes.
  12. Pfff. Gauntlet Hades is also really good. Ragna 5B and 5C are also both really good. j.B has always been really good. Ragna 5A is really good. Inferno Divider is far from Ragna's only good move. Please don't be silly.
  13. We already know that Tsubaki changes tend to be poorly communicated to us because there aren't that many people who play her and report them back, so while I stop short of saying "no news is good news" I don't think no news is bad news either. At any rate, the last thing she needs is MORE special moves. The first thing she needs is for some of the moves she has to actually be good instead of "kindof okay to poor" (Okay, fine, her DP is good now, but a single good special does not a good character make.)
  14. Actually, I think a lot of that IS what you're saying; It's just autopiloting the RIGHT decisions, so you can think about stuff in advance instead of NOW. The fact that you are, at some level, still autopiloting is why sometimes really stupid stuff works on really high level players; They're too busy thinking of what oki setup you're going to do after this combo and then you do some completely lame reset thing that isn't covered by their autopilot because it's such a bad idea, they have a "Wait, what?!" moment, and get hit. This does happen. However, then that thing is brought back to the list of what autopilot "knows about" and won't work again for a long time.
  15. WAAAY too many factors to even TALK about this right now. Don't go there. Also, I'm kinda with Nemesis; I mean, I LIKE Lambda. More than Nu. But I'm not seeing that she has much different in 'real' terms beyond like, different combos and hitconfirms.
  16. That shows me if I'm doing it too tightly, so I guess it'll have to do, thanks.
  17. And as a further caveat - if you can't even EXPLAIN why you are losing, then changing characters is just going to make it worse. You need to understand what your failings are before you can try to fix them. Have you tried watching some of your own replays?
  18. Basically "characters whose overdrive gives them a resource they wouldn't otherwise have." :P So not for characters who start the round with all their resources (Rachel, Valk, etc) Not for characters whose OD basically does nothing outside of combos (Noel, Ragna, etc)
  19. This is a TERRIBLE matchup to try 5B > 5D > 5B in, because Jin's 5C is just as fast as our 5B. 5B > jc is better if you think he's going to push 5C in response. It might even be worth trying something silly like 5B > 5D > forward jump for confusion value. Maybe even just flat out 5B > 6C, though probably not since this will lose to 5B mash (**** our crappy normals!). 5B > 6B (basically safe unless he jumps or DPs) will get you some ground. 5B > 3C is probably worth trying if you have the meter. 5B > jc > j.236A? Honestly, for ME, the hard part of this matchup is getting into 5B range. Anyway, as far as I can tell, the only way you beat Jin is you just out-footsie him - dash in when he's doing a 2D. Jump forward when he's doing a 5C, etc. Don't get predictable. Do try all kinds of random crap because as soon as he has a good guess about what you are trying, you're screwed.
  20. Yeah, my "strategy" is to camp the hell out of most characters. Sometimes it works out, sometimes they manage a roll or something and then I lose. :P For corner oki, do practice the j.236A corner oki - it's not great, but it does keep your opponent from rolling out. In terms of fighting characters with big space controlling normals, a forward jump from just outside the range of their preferred normal can hop over it and give you a CH j.C if they pushed the button there. This requires pretty good spacing though. Also, according to the Jin matchup thread, 3C stuffs his 5C, but I haven't tested that.
  21. No, that's the opposite of what I want; I want to practice DOING my frametrap so I don't end up accidentally leaving a big enough gap that they CAN mash out. This is a delayed gatlings thing, not a "Does Move X > Move Y frame trap?" thing.
  22. Training mode features I would love to have, #17
  23. The monitor is probably the HARDEST thing for me to bring, because my only HDMI friendly monitor is large and thoroughly wired up.
  24. ... We HAVE online training mode.
