  1. You're playing Tsubaki. How do you not notice? EDIT: I mean, yeah, I still play the game, but it's not as good as lots of other options out there. If I had an MB community nearby, I'd be dumping 75% of the time I put into BB into MB because better game is better. I'd still play BB, but I'd get more satisfaction out of MB.
  2. Yeah. I still play Tsubaki because A) I don't play competitively (no scene near me, sadface) and B) when I DO play offline, the guy I have to play is a Rachel player, so it's like low-tier field day. If I were in a legit tourney environment, I would've said "fuck it" and just switched to Rags a looooooong time ago.
  3. It's one thing to go to meetups and another to compete. Both support the scene.
  4. It was more like with worse charas you get these moments where it's like "How do I deal with situation X against character Y?" "Oh. I can't." And they're just frustrating as hell.
  5. Isn't there already a discussion ITT of why good players tend to play good characters?
  6. OMFG YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Updating regional thread ASAP
  7. ;_; Sadness. Also sad 214D is no longer plus as fuck, but eh, you win some, you lose some. The positive changes definitely overwhelm the negative ones. Thanks for the TL, man.
  8. Can you also verify that 214C is indeed -5 and not +5? I'd be fucking pissed if a move with 40f startup was minus on block, especially since it used to be plus
  9. >implying CS Makoto isn't good
  10. Nini, your argument would be relevant if the player hadn't just stated that he felt his problem was not that he was playing Tager. And it's not hard to feel when it's your chara that's screwing you.
  11. Is this a "I'm not getting better at playing as Tager" plateau or a "I'm not getting better BECAUSE I'm playing Tager" plateau? That's kinda important.
  12. This is partially false. There are some things you can learn (how to IB in general, how to IB>DP) using the training dummy. Also, if you can't play much, you can still do some delicious theoryfightan. Learning what moves gatling into overhead is a good defense-upper that doesn't necessarily require actually playing the game (though you need to know what the moves look like for this to be useful).
  13. >one charge >5b starter >3.7k life, thank you
  14. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/content.php?104-Reading-and-Using-Frame-Data-Part-1
  15. Yeah, you're more likely to get specific advice here. Beginner Mode can pretty much only tell you "up your exec, learn your normals, etc." We can tell you -how- to up your Tsubaki exec, -how- to use your normals, etc. That's a big improvement right there.
  16. Frame data says otherwise.
  17. Yeah, but you DID randomly land a few 5bb's and reset. Those could've been good damage, which was why I made the comment. EDIT: 5b has p1 80, 5bb has p1 100, iirc.
  18. Fearless hitconfirms were delicious. 5b>22d was godlike (and so fucking practical in that matchup). Not so sure about overpressuring Tager with strings that holey, but it was netplay, so eh. (x>6c can be killed by mashing on normal block by some charas, so 360A would rape that shit so hard). 22D is +3 on normal block. No need to run away afterwards. 5bb has 100 p1. You could've gotten some juicy combos a couple of times off the 5b>5bb frametrap, but didn't. 3c has 100 p1, but I didn't see you use it against Tager (which is pretty fair not to do), so np there. I can't fucking ever tk 236C for some reason. Don't feel bad, lol. It's weird as hell for a tk, I think (I can do TK flameribbons fine in MB and plenty of TKs in this game fine, but can't fucking do that one). Optimal combos needed. Sometimes, you also just did random combos that were nowhere near practical. Not sure why, especially when there were obvious better ones. Really, my big complaint is just combo choice. You're one of the more solid players in general, so it's harder to find bones to pick.
  19. Considering holding a small meetup at my place. Probably run one or two BB setups, one GG setup (I don't think any of us know shit about gg though, lol), maybe an MBAC setup (because I still need to mod my PS2 >_<) on the side or an AH3 setup inplace of one of the BB setups (if it's released on PSN). I think that would cover like twice the amount of people who would come, though, lol
  20. Building exec takes time. When I first started taking FGs seriously, it took me two hours to learn my VAkiha bnb -- not momiji, just normals -> launcher -> aircombo. Over time, my exec has gotten exponentially better, but it took effort. Exec isn't free, so don't feel bad if you don't have it at first.
  21. You need to have half an understanding of pressure for Rags to be even remotely scary, though. He isn't ezmodo. I think, in terms of charas that piss people off, Tao is high. Good damage, stupid good neutral, most people have negative matchup experience against her and don't know how to deal. And dat voice.
  22. I think people have already talked about that one in here a bit. Also, standard advice: turn on your TV's game mode (if it has one and you haven't turned it on already), or try to play on a computer monitor or CRT screen. If your TV lags, learning some timings can be unnecessarily difficult.
  23. Input 22A during 214a, howling. The cancel window is bizarre and unusual, but not hard once you have the feel for it.
  24. For Tsubaki's sjc combos that're 6CC>j.C, use advance input for the j.C. Generally, that's the part that catches people, and using advance input makes it 298910X easier.
  25. Look bro, you never, NEVER describe moves assuming P2 side. And that was a perfectly fine example, and I gave MORE detail on how most charas punish roll than you did. If you want to say I'm wrong, don't bullshit. Show how I'm wrong.
