Not really, he bodied me 2 or 3 games in a row with platinum because it was the first time I played vs a legit plat ever. Then he gave me advice with the matchup, we kept doing casuals for a while and went even. I didn't get to play his tager though, he stopped playing him in cs2. I lost to two rachel players in the tournament, but both matches were good, and we had already played in casuals the day before and had gone even as well. There were a lot of really good players at NEC. I'm disappointed in my placement, but not THAT much about my matches. Gotta keep working on those nerves. Learned a lot about the platinum and valk matchup there though, and just had a really great time overall. Man tournaments are awesome experiences, you guys should all go to one if you can make it. I'll do my best to make it to evo 2012. my only recorded match from the tournament : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_j-3iV-ScM&feature=channel_video_title and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHJB-W4YbYI#t=47m28s from the canada vs usa 8v8, I was pretty nervous and tv lagged a bit oh and tonberry plays a very confusing jin. I also played some CSEX, I think it got recorded and will be uploaded later this week. It's a great game, but I didn't try too much new stuff. I'm disappointed at Fatal J.2C though, it still doesn't lead to much (yet).

Looking at Ogarabu's recent matches I like how he went from air to air blockstring j.aaaa to land 2C (blocked) 5C (hits) 6C combo, as opposed to what I usually do which is 5A 5B 5C 2C or something like that. I guess since no one knows about Mu gatling from 2C into an other air unblockable is really good. (Because you know people don't want to waste barrier gauge and immediately stop holding it when they block 2C.) Nothing revolutionary, just smart metagame lolol. Anyways, I hope I won't forget to abuse this at NEC.

Brice and I talked with Cranky about having a BB tournament at Nemesis 3, and unless I misunderstood he said it was cool except it has to be run outside of the tournament's area. That said, we'll see how foonzo looks after the renos and what they define as their tournament area before taking any decisions, but so far so good. Salty meetup was salty, I'm in training mode right now. For BB. Ya rly. -

I'm very likely going to be in Toronto for a few days around Christmas because I have family there, if you guys actually do organize something let me know (or well I'll probably just lurk the TO thread anyways). I could bring my copy assuming I get it before leaving Montreal. Oh we're not talking about the chat, there have been a few important forum posts you should go read. It's just that some of the stuff has to stay there because they asked for it. -
You could go to NEC, it's a lot closer (Philadelphia). I'll be there, anyone else?
-
Go to a tournament. Even if there are no majors in your area (which would be rare), even an anime convention tournament is good enough. You find the other good players that show up, organize meetups, and build a scene. Well, if there isn't already a local scene you don't know about. Also, local doesn't mean same city, it just means that it's close enough that the people don't mind travelling the distance every now and then. I'd also say a lot of good players stop netplaying because they don't like playing through lag, but it's playable if people live close to each other. Maybe there's this godlike retired netplayer that has a good connection with you and is just waiting for a decent opponent with a minimum lag to start playing again.

I'll check with the SF guys. My guess is that since nemesis 2 was really crowded, they want to avoid having too much people since it's the same venue. I'll see what we can do, maybe we'll have a tournament on friday or sunday. -
Hi C0R, I heard you were coming to NEC. Money match?

Take that, Lumin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSHhU32UJfA#t=55s ! But seriously wasn't carnage scissors supposed to go through projectiles... Did they take it away or is habaya special?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AppVhzMP_Bs Mu vs Relius x2 Hmm looks like Ignis makes 236A almost useless in this matchup, but at least steins look effective.

Before going to foonzo today, check the thread or the chat if there hasn't been a post. We don't know if they're open yet, since they said they'd close from nov 13th to dec 13th. -

GGs everyone, but rachel is too fucking cheap ok well I can't beat you guys until I start training up again so here I go. Also, turns out I forgot to actually bring my hdmi cable so brice if you go tomorrow earlier than I do, bring yours... sry -
@C0R : Awesome! I already use meter for RC a lot in my mixup, so this is probably going to be something I'll be using often as well. Sad about 2C though @bakahyl : That's just because they aren't many playing Mu (it seems), and in a single match situation, anything can happen, so the odds are against having a Mu place well. I haven't checked every video out there yet, but Ogarabu seems very legit. @André : Win a tournament. Unless someone can prove me wrong.

If Mu really does have the strength to be top tier, then I'm looking forward to having a potential to do better in tournaments, therefore encouraging me to practice and play more, and who knows, maybe I'll win a major next year I never really pick my character depending on a tier list, just their playstyle (except in marvel lolol), so I find this to be a great chance to see what it's like to be the strongest, having played the same character after a year and a half of mid tier. In other news, Doctor Strange feels a lot like Mu... with teleports and fullscreen instant punish super. @C0R : What makes air super so strong? I thought it would just be a gimmick, since you can otg 2C 5C into the ground version now.

It might be hard for us to have a setup for tomorrow's meetup. If you're not sure if it's worth the trip, hit the chat, we'll tell you what's up. Also, Steb, I got your cable finally. It came in a nicely packed box with a bunch of styrofoam thingies for fragile things. Everything went better than expected. I'll bring people's cables tomorrow if I don't forget. (1 hdmi for kr3w, 1 hdmi for steb, 1 ethernet for steb, and 1 ethernet for bibi, did I forget anything?) -

Yeah we can start the danisen thursday, but I don't see how I can get the monitor there on thursday. Anyways, come on the chat or skype if you want to discuss possibilities. -
It depends on the matchup, but you're generally safe setting out steins if you have a well placed 236A to stop your opponent from doing something about it. Cancelling into IAD back is generally a good idea as well. Also, cancelling into steins from blocked 6C is good. For example, if you're 3/4 screen away from your opponent, you could do 5Dxx236A 6Dxx236D. (not 100% safe) Look at ogarabu for reference, he does it a lot : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UQngUyEanE
