  1. Huh. Well I'll be damned, definitely incorporating this. So if I got it right, blocking low j.B essentially leads to a 50/50 (on tall chars) since I could go for either a dj.overhead or land -> whatever low?
  2. Hey, Dio! Weren't you the red Haku at T11? You're the guy I sto -- learned this from! No, really, the "new" stuff I'm talking about was pretty much taken just from seeing you play. So I should say credit goes to the deserving, and that'd be the one and only DioBrando. You should post more around here too, I'm pretty sure we'd all benefit from it. You've got a pretty damn solid Haku, I'd say.
  3. That's what I thought! But isn't it really visible what with the kanji appearing and not actually being that fast (21f start, I believe)? Not to mention it costs a horrid 3stars which are wasted if the other guy blocks. Haku's mix-up sucks, so I was all back there.
  4. Since the other thread got locked, could anyone knowledgeable please answer my question? I just saw a new vid posted in Haku forums where I believe I noticed the player doing low j.B (blocked) -> instant dj.B. Would that be what was being referred to? The video in question. It happens at around 0:55.
  5. Hey, I want to sub Valk too, hands off! Actually, now that I look at it, it seem I misinterpreted what Steb said, so nvm on that. And yeah, don't be afraid of going for max damage. I often find myself with loads of stars without noticing because I'm so used to doing 2mag combos. Blow your load if you land a good one, Haku needs to hit like a Mack truck at all times. Also, I actually distinguish four ranges now what with the new perspective change: short, mid, long, and v. long range. Mid would be between 5b and 6c length, and long is around j.C/4c length. Short and v. long is where he's gimped/gets zoned. Biggest problem, I find, is that all his big damage options remain at the short range, with mid being more situational, and god forbid you combo at the long range. However, his effectiveness is now, as I said, at the mid-to-long range. You see what I mean. Or maybe I just can't adapt, which might be the real reason. :vbang:

  6. Came back from a tourney this weekend with lots of new stuff, though only one combo. It is: [Normal CH starter] -> 3c -> 2b -> Gurren -> hop 5b -> j.a-j.b -> j.2a -> j.C Note: For 6a, you can add a j.2c before the 3c. Hop 5b is subject to optimization, but I find it's all-purpose, so it's what I use. I found out just about anything on CH goes into this (even 5a!). Exceptions are 2a, 6b, and 6c, and I believe that's it. Single best 1star combo you got, great positioning, ~3k dmg, and good momentum. It's that good. Pretty sure more experienced dudes already know about this, just putting it out there.
  7. !!!!! Hakumen has instant overheads? Pretty sure you're talking about TK/Hop (EDIT: or maybe JI?) Tsubaki, but I thought that was considered reactable (not to mention it costs meter)?
  8. Character limit! :arg: I hear Steb fears your Haku, though. How's CS he doing for you? :]

  9. Well, his style changed and I think some of his stuff still needs work. CT Haku was low tier, but he was well-rounded. In CS, his space switched to the mid-to-long range, so he lost stuff for close combat, though still gets zoned. Yeah, it's easier to control space now, but his close options got gimped in the process. I also find it harder to get in damage than before since his pressure still sucks, and his changes make it so he has to be more offensive, which I find a bit contrary to his "design" style. So combine the style change with his sucky pressure, and I'm not feeling him as well as before. I do win more, but I don't like him as much. But T11 made me see things a bit differently. You have to play more SF footsies if you want to get in damage, and you can do it really effectively. It's about using hop pressure, tick throws, more Tsubaki overhead, etc. Mix it up more, and you open up a world of hurt for the other guy. I think I'll be posting about it in the Haku forums. :]

  10. Haku vs. Haz is even to 5.5 Haku favor at best. Zidane already said why, so I hope this one's closed. Also, Haz really is good. Whether he's A or S or whatever is semantics. He's just solid with no bad matchups, and that's all we need to know. Although I'll have to confess that even as a Haku main, he doesn't at all feel like he's that high. I feel his weaknesses acutely, since he does seem to need a little bit of polishing in the next version of BB or that Dec. patch. :/
  11. That'd be Brice, actually. He's our very own tourney winner 'round here. I play Haku, and all I did was get my head smashed in by superior play. Also, pad fo' life, man. MTL's really appreciative of the tournament, so shoutout to the organizers, and the great players (sorry, I don't know names. ) for a great time. We're already talking about coming out in greater force for T12 with more polished play. Let's see how it turns out. :D I guess I'll shoutout to Zeero for showing me not only how the best player in Canada can steamroll a newcomer, but also how to get people together. I learned a couple things there! Shoutout to Leo7, too. We didn't talk much, but you taught me a couple things about the Tager matchup and the Toronto scene. See you next year! A shoutout to Tofu Warrior for teaching our own Brice how to own even more. His Tager is about to get Machiavellian if you ask me. He isn't so bad after all, eh? :P And finally a GG to those I played in casuals. Playing offline really does polish your play, so thanks for the experience! Our own scene is coming together. We're going at it piecemeal, but results are starting to come out. Thanks for a great show, guys, you taught us a lot and we had a great time! See you next year!
  12. Before T11, I'd say I was about ready to drop him. His style changed in a way that wasn't really to my liking, but now I think I just didn't go about it the right way. I posted a bit of my thoughts in MTLers, check it out. No time to write more than this, unfortunately, I gtg. I'll get to it tomorrow or later.

  13. Malheureusement, va falloir reporter nos matchs a plus tard, j'ai un tournoi a aller ce weekend, donc pas de PSN pour un boutte. :\ Oublie pas Isuyaru, hein!! Vos matchs sont trop hype! :3

  14. BladeBro, thought about gunning for modship? You seem to inspire fear in the newbies, which is a coveted aspect among aspiring moderators. At the least, you'd keep them in line. :eng101:

  15. Hey guys, I got a vid here I'd like you to critique for me, if it's okay. I played online against one of my offline BB buddies, and saved this match. Note: this isn't his full potential, and I've put him through some good conditioning already, so don't take stuff too seriously because this is just one match among many, he's a really good Tager. I'd just like to know what could've been done better on both my, and his, end. Here's the vid!
  16. Yeehaw, posting first CS upload! Me vs. one of my offline BB buddies, also the winner of the city-wide BlazBlue tourney. I present Takerkart vs. H_Knight19! Btw, I'm not posting a vid for critique once, just for views. It's welcome, though. Also, I promised I'd have some of my matches vs. that Mu I was talking about in the vid thread, but it's going to take a bit more time before I can upload since he didn't like those matches. Guess he thought he wasn't already playing 120% in those.

  19. Ey, salut!

  21. I've just played against a very good Mu, and I must say that this match might just be near impossible. Granted, I don't really know how to fight Mu, but I stand by the fact that this might be equivalent to CT Nu if her blockstrings are air-tight. Mu's mix-up is actually good. Her 6b is slow, but she's got a near instant overhead in her j.C, I think. Add in orb/stein setups, and you're in for an HP-bar depletion treat. She's got good damage for her hits, too. I'll be posting up a vid within a couple days just so everyone can see what's up (I'll probably just post in general vid thread, though, since I've got two more with the guy using Lambda instead that would be good studying). Wish I'd taken more than one with his Mu, though. Overall, a real headache of a match if you ask me.
  22. Okay, I get it now on those 6b combos. But it's so specific, it's almost useless expect against some moves, I guess. I suppose I'll post my own useless combo I just found out, then: 2c CH (low AA) -> f.2c -> 5b -> j.2a -> AD j.2a -> j.C (2688 dmg, meterless) For those times when your 2a AA hit the guy very low, you can do this. But the spacing and timing is strict enough that there isn't much point in attempting it.
  23. Facidi, I don't understand the 6b combos. It doesn't link into anything, even on CH. Care to explain?
  24. I only saw 2-3 rounds, but I think he played the matchup almost to a T. Good capitalizing on hits, good use of hotaru, good spacing, and good teching sense (to avoid 720). I only critique his use of counters right next to Tager, which was asking to be 360/720'd, and maybe his jump-ins, some of which were prone to Tager 2c. Otherwise, I'd say this vid is more about what you CAN do vs. Tager. I'll be watching this vid for tips, myself.
  25. Yes, hop Tsubaki in Mugen is harder than I thought. I've done up to 7 reps, but only facing left. Facing right, I can't do more than 2-3. Though speaking of Mugen, I prefer this combo, which carries over from CT: -> [Renka(1)-Zan(1) -> Enma -> Tsubaki -> 5c] xN I like it more now because you can be more liberal with Tsubaki's height. One rep costs roughly two stars' worth of Mugen time, so do three reps, then finish with renka(1) -> Shippu. It does enough damage to kill most of the cast.
