Going Back to Guilty Gear

I've been working on getting some of my close friends and brothers into fighting games, and with the help of Blazblue they have started to understand how to block, cancel, and that some moves (ice carz!!!) are horribly punishable (I feel so proud ) But anyway, they've become legitimately interested in fighting games. So I picked up AC+ for ps2, since I had AC for Wii (i didn't really have a ps2/3 at the time and had moved on to other fighting games) and we proceeded to play. I immediately fell in love with GG all over again. I had honestly forgot how much I liked GG over BB.

Anyway small anecdote aside I was curious if anyone else had a similar experience of going back to GG and realizing how much you missed it, or fond memories haha.

I was just hoping to see if everyone else still has a love of GG in them (granted this is the guilty section of the board...)

never left it. all my friends and i have played for years. This game has made me countless new friends whom i respect and genuinely feel are fucking great. Dont ever stop playing, thats when it will really die.

Still play GGAC, along with BBCS. GG and BB are godlike awesome, more playable for me than SF4/SSF4.

I'm in Northern KY and I think there is a scene (fighting at least) nearby. I started going to Arcade Legacy in Ohio (20-30 min drive) and I think they have tournaments and crap going on there. I just need to get myself trained up since I don't want to piss off better players with my scrubbiness, especially GG since I'm pretty damn rusty and my BBCS needs work. I'm relatively new to playing stick too so that doesn't help either.

But I'm glad to see GG still has active scenes

Only thing I had to play it was the GGXX Online thing, but after dunnowhichversion it became frustrating to even find ONE match.

i never got into gg cause i didn't know about it until BB, but i'm really trying to get into the whole gg scene. i just need a stick before i start playing :x -can't play ps2 controller-

Never stopped playing. New England still has a strong scene and we often play against New York and New Jersey as well.

I haven't quite gotten into Blazblu. The lack of balance, nonexistent oki (can't get a feel for momentum), and instant blocking for meter turn me off.

I bought Accent Core over Spring Break this year, and I finally got my stick multimodded, so I've been practicing combos a bit lately. I don't have anyone to play against around here though, so mostly I'm just hoping that the game is rereleased with netplay soon.

I could definitely see why someone would move on to BB because after a while only being able to play GG local gets annoying due to the lack of player base(depending on where you live), but all in all it will always be a solid game ;online or not.

All days, playing GG, in school with some friends, in my house playing online, visit some friends and then play ggxxac with them, GG its like breathing to me, it´s my first love in fighting game and always will be.

I was looking forward to BB because some of my friends were pretty hyped for it... but i was a bit disappointed in the end and switched back to GG. Guilty Gear and Darkstalkers are the best fighting games ever, in my opinion

^This, times one billion! srsly though these newer fighters have been meh to me thus far, and BB was just downright bleh (least it looks pretty lol). I dunno maybe it's cause I played GG first and kinda expected other games to be of equal or higher quality and not so scrub friendly (I mean really...It's gotten to a point where I can't even tell a good player from a bad one in some cases). Either way, playing GG always gives me a sensation these other fighters just don't ;i ~~~~Besides...GG has May!

i'm still playing gg very hard despite the fact bbcs is my main game right now. i don't want to neglect my roots since its where i first came from in fighters. i usually devote my time equally in both games. it's not easy, but i'm able to manage it well.
