I don't know what's with Americans and their throw teching, self loathing, masochistic snark.

Japanese get hit by fucking purple throws.

And overheads.

and wakeup distortions.

I say whenever a throw is landed the game should go into a Mario Party style mini-game and the throw goes in favor of the winner.

blocker throws before thrower = reject miss if purple or I put the thrower in this RPS because my throw came out b4 his

Nobody wants to accept the fact that people suck equally everywhere.

It's just too depressing.

That's not true, the Japanese are better, but only due to several factors that we Americans lack, by our own admission or due to circumstances beyond our control.

But supaa hai reveru nippon pray doesn't stop players from getting hit by mix ups, and purple ticks.

Actually the term 'FIGHT IT OUT' should flash on the screen resulting in an ogre battle cutscene based on the arcadia tier list. If the matchup is 6-4 then the 6 will win but reduce his tier value to 2, just to introduce some magic the gathering mechanics as well.

JoJo's did it best, anyways.

Regardless, hm. Let's see if there are any changes to rolls...

* Fire punch(?) corner bounces.

Not sure if anyone told you this yet, (and frankly too lazy to care) but that's probably referring to the fact that Heavenly Palms of the Phoenix doesn't wall bounce, you know, the way he used to wall bounce you into Daifunka?

I'm pretty sure that's the change to prevent that kind of link, but it could refer to burning heart as well.

they still need to add animu pics to everyone's DDs like Makoto :(

True that.

Also blocking is fundamental, try it. When I stop doing wake up dps, counters, supers, and autoguards, and start blocking and focusing more, generally I win more.

I'm totally siggin' the last part. I laughed so damn hard.

Hey fuck you Zong I can tech greens on reaction now. Never again. NEVER AGAIN.

Oh important to note I don't think I teched any of yours. stay carl-like.

So I guess the big question with all these system changes is:

Will this cause any die-hard or tourney-level GG player to consider picking up and getting serious about BB?

Either it was a 2A tick or a volante tick.

Or a volante > 2A tick.

or something.

too carl-like. (^_^)

I wish Mori would just add RoboKy to this game.

Isn't that the same as Robo-Jin?

They already did that with Hakumen.

imo Tech Roll forwards should go through but still leave you point blank on the other side.

Whoever thinks that tech rolling in BB is a great thing to have in a fighter should play Melty. Their tech system is too good.

Tech immediately and if you tech wrong, say hello to another combo into knockdown.

Also, I wonder what kind of damage characters can get off of grabs now. Does this mean that Mu and Lambda's airgrabs are top tier now solely because of their 2K bullshit? :v:

Another thing I was wondering: a big problem people had was that the matches ran too long, the game was too slow, etc. But by nerfing the damage and making combos and throws less damaging aren't they actually making this problem worse?

Posted

I am hoping that while they are nerfing damage, they are also nerfing the length of combos across the board. If this happens the matches will be faster paced and I don't think time-outs will be an issue.

If litchi still takes forever to combo and just does less damage for example, then there will be a big problem.

I'm glad someone else noticed this, TWO CONFLICTING IDEAS. I like how they take 2 steps forward with the changes and 10 steps back.

Melty is too good overall, but everyone knows that by now.

I'm guessing their idea is that even though overall damage outside the corner is decreased, the system changes like guard crush, pushing to the corner, more solid pressure, and going into danger mode more often will make the game faster in the end. At least, that's how I'd hope it turns out...

Pretty much this, the problem with match length in BB is mostly combo length with Litchi being the worst offender. Matches actually look and feel fast-paced outside of that(hitconfirm into "god I wish I could put my controller down but I gotta watch for dem purples/resets") most of the time.

Unless they find more ridiculous CS combos that end up being way longer than they ever intended I doubt it's going to be faster. Actually, that would just put it back to CS1 I guess... Personally I prefer shorter high damage combos.
