As far as airdashes requiring meter thats fine in my opinion. There are a few mutiple hitting projectile attacks, in particular carmine's wheel of spinning blood, and having an always available airdash would turn every character into chie/millia/bridget when ever they got there opponent to block. the run speed is really really good in this game, and simply jumping over or sheilding projectiles to punish them is always going to be availble so they arent abused. And there is no lambda/rachel/mu-12 type zoning in this game as of right not so its no problem in terms of getting in on people simply because of controlling alot of space with ground zoning.

Im not sure if this will get the same skullgirls treatment, I really think Im sticking it out if this game is ever ported to consoles(even if its solely japan) IM really excited about seeing the game in arcades. The entirety of september cant come soon enough, tokyo game show, borderlands 2, doa 5, tekken tag 2, other non fighting game events begin to take place. So so excited. It be really nice if french bread takes it all the way with this product im sure arcade success will definitley play a factor.

From watchin that trailers the only characters im worried about not being so good, are waldsteien and vastista. But thats simply early opinions from what I saw and in no way has any ground until the game actually is out in arcades.

Don't let Sev's salty sparkles deceive you~

The MB community is pretty lively in Japan, the only reason it's niche over here in the states is due to never being officially released over here, so you had to go out of your way to find it, not to mention most releases were for PC which bring their own set of problems, the minute MB hit arcades is when it really started to boom. And most doujin games (especially fighters) are forgotten because they're made more for fun rather than practicality.

This game will do fine in Japan and will probably co-exist with, if not completely overtake, Melty Blood, Japan plays everything. As for it's life outside of that region, that depends on how they plan to release this to consumers.

Haven't watched all of the most recent videos yet, but some cross-speculation:

- Seth's projectile and teleports are going to make for some interesting mixup/oki games ("DO I FRIGHTEN YOU!?")

- Linne is a poor man's Seth in nearly every way

- Yuzu has some awesome combos but still not 100% sure how her charged ABC system works, but it looks sweet (even her aerial attacks look good :D)

- Carmine looks pretty cool but really risky as he literally bleeds to attack his opponent, not all of the moves take life but without a way to recover he's gonna be a high risk/reward character

- Orie is alot more boring than I thought she'd be...maybe Mitsu spoiled fencing for me lol (also she does REALLY bad against real zoners it looks like, she nearly got double perfected against Varista)

- Veil Off bonuses?

- Seth's projectiles seem like they can probably be held to delay them, and his teleports seem unsafe. Same for Yuzu's teleports, though I guess it almost goes without saying when you consider the range on pokes.

- I kinda don't understand what you mean by 'Linne and Seth have the same gameplan'. They're both rushdown characters, obviously, but Linne looks like she has Rekkas and relies on outspeeding her opponent's normals (while having much better range than Seth), while Seth looks like he's about having poor range, but mixups on all fronts (high & low, left & right, dunno if he has a command grab). Also, it looks from Linne's most recent video like she might have a command roll?

- Yuzu's ABC seems to me like a pseudo-rekka, but maybe that's just due to the aesthetic; if you notice, certain moves cause the ABCs below her health to light up, then any time a move is used, it blacks out on the HUD. It's probably very simple, those are different followups that you can do in any order, but only once per 'starter', and they probably won't always combo when done in just any order.

- I could be wrong, but I thought I'd read someone say Carmine's grab leeched health? If that's true, it's something, at least.

- Hard to tell if Orie is vulnerable to being zoned; imo, French-Bread has mentioned very little about her at all. What's up with her Stand? Is it just a glorified, fancy normal/special animation, or does it have some special properties? Health? Guard point? Can it get hit?

- And I want to know more about Veil Off, as well. It regens health, like Blood Heat, but anything else?

F*CK neutral game. Press buttons from full screen!

Seriously, have none of you guys played IaMP. An FG with most characters being a threat from full screen isn't new.

This. People are reading too much on those recent videos. Maybe in less extent than the old videos posted in unib's site, but those new one's are still scripted matches maked to show the "beauty" of the game. For example, it's not showing "eruboru" abuse, bettwen other things.

Again, I said from those videos. And I am well aware of the videos emphasize on flash and supers for the kill then actually matches from top players. The only thing demonstrated was blockstrings and a beam in vastista video, when all the other characters atleast demonstrate something basic that could be used as a starting point to show possiblities of advanced game play. Ex: seth left right teleports with homing orb, carmine spinning blood wheel. I stated above its just an opinion without anything strong basis besides from what I saw collectively from those videos.

SOMETHING A BIT INTERESTING:

I took the time to look at the sprites images on the website for all the characters, and I noticed the most of the characters have asymmetrical(dont look the same on both sides if a line is drawn directly down the middle) designs which is something most 2d designs stray away from because you would have to redraw certain things when the characters are facing opposite directions. So i checked to see If they just let them look the same regardless of which side they faced. And they actually took the time to redraw the characters facing both directions. gordeau, hilde, and whomever have hair designs that arent identical on both sides were re done when facind left or right. I think thats pretty awesome.

You also have to remember that MB is pretty big in Japan because of it being a Type-Moon product as Kinoko Nasu has one of the most rabid (and increasing) fanbases among anime fans.

Just realized today that the movelist are on the site, Yuzu has the shortest of the whole cast, no wonder she's so good! Everyone knows the less moves you have the more optimum you are! (Guile, Mitsuru) :>

Good find. I seriously wont be able to pick between Merkava, Gordeau and Yuzu until I get my hands on the game. Theyre all too awesome.

Yuzu may have the shortest movelist, but she's the only character whose mechanic we can't quite crack, so it's not all about the number of moves. Linne has the same number of techniques, but she's much more accessible.

And Hilda still doesn't have anything, what a shame.

this game is very aesthetically pleasing. where is hilda though. :<

I was joking (even if it usually turns out true---if you're going to limit a character, they're gonna be amazing) and she does have the shortest, the 4th move is in regards to her character specific function. And we know it has to deal with charging her buttons. Also lol to them all being Air OK = w=

Yeah don't expect anything on Hilda for sometime, she's pretty much confirmed Boss (to be playable at a later date)

Same thing I want to know. Boss character or not she's been revealed, has screens and is listed with everyone else. I want at least some type of footage of her. :(

For once an fg where all the characters are appealing to me some way or another. Shoutouts to Jourdal for posting up the character montages for this game.

I did my job today and hyped this to one of my friends, an avid type-moon fan and FG player.

This has gotta be one the few FGs where I seriously wanna play the whole cast. Narrowing it down to 2 chars is gonna be hell >_>

You mean inbirth.info? I can't seem to find any sprites there :?:
