Remius Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 WHERE'S MEGAMAN Is it sad that i actually thought this was real Honestly, capcom is so gdlk at trolling the fans, i wouldn't put it past them haha
Sphere211 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I'm sad I thought it was real. Because it wasn't =[
Sharakonta Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Remius I thought the same thing but lol that was awesome
Blade Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 On disc hoaxes are indeed epic! The next time someone says "These combos are broken!" I refer to this article, 6th paragraph (or last paragraph under "Game System") : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_Fighter_II
Blade Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Does anyone know where I can get some good Excalibur Strats for Strider? During my combos sometimes he's either too high or too low so he can use his 2nd jump to extend combos. Also it seems he can't use Crossover Tag-out air combos post-Excalibur, so you can't do something like: L M 2H 6H S jump M M L-Excalibur jump M M 2S/8S/6S... I'm also struggling with stuff that ends in L-Ame no Murakumo (236L), and I don't know what M-Excalibur is good for.
natearistata Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Excalibur is pretty bad for combos anyway, it murders the rest of his combo damage, and it's not like he's already doing good damage in the first place. Only truly useful thing for the L version imo is picking up instant overhead. M excalibur good for fast get-away movement or an easy way past careless zoning. can be followed up when he's sped up by x-factor, but I dropped Strider hard and didn't work at finding any good combos with it.
Blade Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 If by "good damage" you mean whole lifebars, then yeah of course it won't but I'm just talking when he's active. He's got a lot of Jin-like potential for combo traps now. For average height people he can do stuff like jump-in L L H L-Excalibur > insert ground or air combo here, or Teleport j.H > insert ground or air combo here. And that's without Ouroboros. So he's got lots of ways to start combos because even his strongest normals are fast.
Blade Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Anyone else having trouble "hitting" with Vergil? I'm trying to do some combos, but most of what I do gets blocked and punished or pushbacked and assist-punished or thrown. I just want to do some combos with him without screwing up the combo, because he's all technical and about hit-confirms and stuff. That and I get punished for warping, unless I assist-then-warp then it's 50/50 chance I get hit. Even my Strider doesn't get hit for warping that much. And also things that protect his 623H from getting blocked and punished would help too. What are Vergil's best normals and close and max range? Also, I keep getting hit after Breakaways (throw tech spam) cuz they're too darn close...at least in BB if you get thrown you get some space to move a little. And also...I need some good Zero combos/mixups that don't involve Buster (cuz charging buster on Pad sucks). Aside from those two, I'm not having many problems using Strider now. :D
Vulcan422 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 For close range, do not use L. It's range is fucking pathetic compared to Dante's and it's garbage overall. Use M for both close range and pokes, and H for blockstring pokes into SHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSH. Also Zero can be played without buster. Just use Hienkyaku and Sentsuizan mixups with assists.
Xtra_Zero Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) Also Zero can be played without buster. Just use Hienkyaku and Sentsuizan mixups with assists. You're right, but I REALLY don't recommend it. Buster adds SO much to his game he's like a different character, especially in Ultimate. Edited December 5, 2011 by Xtra_Zero
Aureliano Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 The threat of buster to the face is basically the only thing that lets Zero do what he does with space control, so you might want to map it to a shoulder button or something.
Blade Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) I found a solution to my Zero Buster on Pad problem...it's similar to my Order-Sol problem, lol. Here's my Layout: L1 = Partner 1 L2 = Partner 2 L3 = Record (Training) R1 = Light Attack (I hold this down for Buster in combos). R2 = X-Factor (Same location for Roman Cancels lol) R3 = Playback Loop (Training) Rest is default. So I hold R1 like I would hold Dust. Also I learned a technique to get the screen full of Hadangeki and Buster shot. 236(L) 236H Release L (Greenshot). It lands 4 hits and uses that whole "single Hadangeki cancel" thing, timing on the release is a little strict, but this move is nasty during Sougenmu. Sougenmu Zero Hadangeki Assist + Strider Formation S > Wall Cling is a pretty good mixup. I'm not used to covering the recovery of my own attacks with Assists, but I will in time (I didn't play MvC2 much). Another one I like: Strider Air Gram + Vergil Devil Trigger Rapid Slash Assist...covers the full screen just about. Also learning things with Vergil: 2M 2H 6H (if they Advance Guard do Judgment Cut, if not...) Strider Assist (Gram) + M Trick/H Trick/SHSH loop etc etc. Also that SHSH infinite can be special cancelled any time after an H move, just in case... Edited December 5, 2011 by Blade
FormerlyUnknown Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 i love nemesis, i hate i can't even use him right...
MasterMind Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Why do people online think they can do random Maximum Weskers without getting punished? I mean it's hilarious when I get a level 3 or something off of it, but I'm curious why they think it'll work when I punished them the last 2 times they tried.
Blade Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Does anyone know any 'real' beginners in this game? I'm tired of all the fake ones online. I barely played vanilla, so just a simple sparring partner whose just forming his team like me would help. Also, why wasn't HULK SMASH in that Video!!!???
MasterMind Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Give it some time. The players that are already really good will get to higher ranks sooner than the new people. After a little while the ranks will actually reflect their appropriate skill levels. And oh my god the CablePool alt is so amazing. Edited December 6, 2011 by MasterMind
GenoWhirl Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/teching-throws-during-recovery-does-it-need-to-be-patched-removed.150016/ how legit is this?
Vulcan422 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I say keep it. The game is already unbalanced as it is with Wesker being SSS+ tier and all.
