You know if you take this out of context it sounds rather...disturbing.

Ragna's been the victim of having his movelist be related to sex puns in-game already. Shit ain't so bad. /shrug

Pffff. Nothing will ever beat "GIGANTIC TAGER!" for innuendo.

Don't know if this(Or something similar) was posted yet, but while everyone knows the properties of D ID on FC, This is the first time I have seen how high it actually sends the enemy flying up. It seems Terumi fell on the ground on the earlier frames of Ragna's 6B(Which he was obviously aiming to be a 5B instead). I don't know how well you can follow it up if it hits too close to the ground, but we can definitely follow it up with something like 5B if it hits the enemy high on on the air.

Considering this was DID at max distance, a brief dash 5C might be able to catch a falling opponent.

However, it takes Ragna 9~10 frames to bend his leg, before rising for the 6B. And at that point, Hazama recovers. Since 5B is 8 frame, there's a very short time to land a dashing 5B.

plus, since this will be a punish more often than not, we'll probably be close to the opponent too, so in most practical cases, a standing 5B or 5C will be an easy link.

But damn, I can already think of some silly shit with how high it throws the opponent.

I think in the corner, 3C will be possible too, so maybe it could go like

FC 623D > 3C > 22C > 236D > 5C > 6A > j.214D > 5B > 5C > j.C > j.214C > 5D(1) > 214B > delay 214D > 5D(2) > 214A > 214D

I WANT THIS GAME GUYS. I WANT THIS GAME.

It better. I'm thinking you can probably CH air throw him in that situation though if you react quick enough.

Wouldn't be surprised. Honestly BS reminds me a lot of Hazama's 6B. It's an interruptable move, sure, but it gives you fucktons of + if the opponent fails to react.

On that same vid:

I think it's to Blood Scythe's credit that it clashes with Jin's 2C instead of losing. The first time he uses it though proves that you can jump out of it.

Seems like a dash 5B is usually the way to go after DID FC then. Unless it's at max distance like that it will probably be a easy link like Lumin said due to we using it as a punish, and thus we will be close to the opponent.

I wanna see what sorts of crazy BKI combos we can do off this...

Also guys, I was discussing this sort of thing with members of my scene but

We should totally abuse the jump cancel properties on Ragna's normals to bypass the Overdrive Cancel penalty for Overdrive combos.

I'm guessing you should be able to cancel the JC with Overdrive, and thus, get the full overdrive time AND continue the combo.

You know, for stuff like

5B > 5C > JCC OD > dash 5B > 5C > stuff

It'd increase our damage big time.

being able to jcc into OD hasn't been confirmed

True, but as far as I can see, no reason it shouldn't work right?

Though if it doesn't work like that for whatever reason, we could probably still jump cancel into it, then continue with a j.B or j.C to keep the combo going, still getting the full amount of OD time (depending on hitboxes and all that).

Depends. If OD brutally stops momentum(Much like Belia Edge), I can see J.C working. If not then 5C>OD>J.C will probably only work on characters like Tager. HOWEVER, Maybe we can 5B>5C>OD>Air DID. This might be range dependable\Requires IAD but I'm sure BKI DID's hitbox can make it happen.

Jump cancel cancel itself lessens time, since it's a cancel.

Being airborne (after 4 frames) probably counts as Air Activation.

Now, I only gotta find the proper videos to back up these theories lol

It indeed cancels out momentum.

That is good news. It totally canceled out the momentum, not even carrying it over after recovery. If JCCing is not possible then maybe we can at least JC and continue the combo from there.

jcc into standing od to avoid cancel penalty? other characters can do it, so I would assume ragna could too

I feel like I'm crazy, I don't know where I've seen it but I'm 90% its a thing :v if someone else could confirm that would be very very nice of you

OD basically acts as an install special/super (anything that's special cancelable is OD cancelable), so just like we can jump cancel cancel into specials, we should be able to do the same with OD.

Posted (edited)

I've always just assumed that it would work. That's why I asked why people weren't doing it however many pages ago it was. Specials, Distortion Drives and Bursts have always been fair game for that sort of thing so I don't see why it wouldn't.

So it's safe to think of OD as CT's AH, who could be only jcc'd.

Maybe JCC is not "listed" as a cancel penalty by the engine.

That seems to be the case. Was the addition of JCC intended by the designers or was it just something found by players and ASW simply decided not to touch it? If it's the later than JCC not being considered a cancel penalty for OD would make sense.

Still, it's great news. Even at near max HP we have enough time with BKI to get something done. I'm looking foward to low HP combos though...closest we gonna get to pre-CP BK and all.

Probably not touched. Remember when Bang needed to JCC to combo into specials... Ragna can JCC 6C(2) on block too, but no idea why they won't just give us Special Cancel on it.

The notation is listed as "jccOD", and OD duration is that of a normal one (~6secs@50% HP).
