If the eddie does it right, normal always hits the first frame before projectile, so block high first. Most of the time you should hope he misses the timing and block low to escape for free though.
-
Hm ill maybe make it
-
oh yeah i'll remember my stick this time hopefully i'm not too much of a zombie by tonight
-
Most of the characters are similar in play style because their movement and normals are mostly the same. The biggest changes for everyone are combos. Added tools and removed dumb shit hasn't changed how characters play too much.
-
i'm not usually there wednesday so i'll come anyways

The slowdown from naomi board doesn't really change shit, you have to adjust your timing slightly on a few things and that's about it.

Actually, Ky was considered significantly better than the rest of the cast, with only Sol being remotely close, whereas Eddie in Reload was considered hardly better than the rest of the top tier (robo, dizzy, jam, slayer, millia) As for bottom tier, in Reload there were some characters with awful matches against top tier, but overall it wasn't that bad. Slash bottom tier was just shitty all around. Robo was practically a joke character, and Dizzy, hos, a few others were just terrible. Every character in AC has the tools to win any matchup. Winning in AC is much less dependent on the characters being played and much more dependent on the player's matchup knowledge and (obviously) ability to execute to apply it. Even the worst matchups in the game are fairly easily dominated if the disadvantaged character has even slightly better matchup experience. It is significantly more balanced than Reload or Slash.

You mean the opposite, right?

After failing my hard final I'll be sure to come feel better by destroying you all!!... Or cry when I can't find anything cool with Noel and decide to switch chars for good.

I wouldn't say it's not useful, because Baiken requires meter to play both offensively and safely, but it's almost always a better idea to save your burst to either prevent any big damage on you, or to force the opponent into burst safe routes/straight out baiting it when they are about to get a big combo or finish the round. Not using your burst is an important habit to get into, or it will just get read every time once your opponent picks up on that fact that you don't save it. One case gold burst really comes in handy though is if you try to wakeup throw someone who doesn't seem like they can get out of range. If they don't manage to get a jump or backdash in, you are practically guaranteed to either throw them or goldburst their throw bait (option select it). I have found that saving your burst to use defensively (only after you get hit) can be extremely effective at reversing the momentum of the match; however, throwing out a gold burst on wakeup seems more like folding to me, admitting you can't block them, and generally doesn't shift the match as much (I certainly don't mind getting gold bursted, since it means I don't have to worry about it when I do land a hit). To me, it's much more annoying to connect with something nice and be ready to do full combo, even blow meter on it, but get that taken away than it is to adjust my game to take the opponent's full meter into consideration. Once you know the opponent likes to use gold burst, it's pretty easy to watch out for too.

General Gameplay Questions Thread - POST YOUR GAMEPLAY QUESTIONS HERE

GG is an extremely matchup-specific game. Every character in GG has okizeme (wake-up game) to some degree and will stay on the opponent when they are knocked down (almost always), the main difference between the heavier rushdown characters and the more zoning characters is whether they have tools to keep pushing once they get that advantage or whether they have to back off because there will be holes in their pressure easily escaped or the risk/reward of getting back in is not in their favor. The flow of a GG match changes a lot depending on the level played as well, top players will abuse any opportunity to escape with IB->1f jump, or know exactly when they can or can't option select throws in the opponent's attempted pressure. Most characters have moves with specific hitboxes or speed that directly counters weaker pressure (Slayer 2H comes to mind). This forces the characters with fewer rushdown options to resort to airthrows, baiting throws or whiffs to get back in, and playing more of a contain game than a rushdown game (when they have no meter). GG is a game you must block in or you will get punished all day by anyone half decent, being disrespectful of the opponent's options (in most situations) may work a few times, but won't help you improve and will get you killed. -
over my winter break some of the people around my area might want to play casuals again, i'll see if i can get some recorded for fun
